Can someone please explain to my why it is OK for companies to release half assed buggy software and expect you to wait a year+ twiddling your thumbs paying that $15 a month waiting for things to be fixed? Why do I have to pay $230 before something gets done. I thought this kinda bug fixing and rebalancing should be taken care of beta thats what that sh** is for. I can't help but feel I am paying for exactly that... an overhyped open beta.

I dunno you guys can keep playing I will come back a year from now when this mess is all fixed. I mean we are years in and now EVE is better than ever. Maybe like fine wine it gets better with age (non graphically at least) so I am content waiting till this game matures and Funcom gets its act together.

You don't have to anything. You can choose not to play, just as much as I choose to play. I would not pay for it if there was another game I would rather be playing atm.

Did you even play WoW at release? Or for that matter, AoC? You could get from 1-60 in WoW on the intended leveling content Quests. In AoC you cant even get to level 50 without being forced to grind mobs, which is the equivalent to level 40 in WoW. As much as I hate WoW, they're the first to release what can be constituted as a "finished" product on the MMO market. Only problem that occured was lagg, which is not entirely their fault, its not easy to gauge the interest your MMO is going to acquire.

Prior to the latest expansion, Blizzard never expressed an interest to impliment Siege Weapons.

You really need to get your facts straight.

Im not a WoW fanboi, I stopped playing years ago and I'll never go back. But nothing annoys me more then people whining that its release was bad. Take a look at MMO's prior to WoW and you may start to grasp exactly what im talking about.

What I'm saying is neither game was perfect at launch, there never has been an MMO perfect at launch, and even many single player games get patched. It's a part of the cycle, get used to it.

Well said and perfection will never be seen for me. You can not tell me that you have played the best game you ever tried, yet there was still 1 little thing you wouldn't like to see. Perfection is a dream.

AoC has many faults. I myself wish they had spent more money on competent game developers than they had on marketing.

It is a good game. It is nothing like the hype that was built up before release, but it is good.

I will actually try to add a fair review soon, just too busy atm.

    Yes it did.

Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

I'm just really tired of people comparing different MMOs to WoW. I mean really...who cares?...beside fanbois. Pretty much most MMOs are the same and yet different...if that makes any sense. WoW like any other MMOs has the grind fest...wether mob killing or quests...launch day hiccups...missing content...same as any other MMOs out there...AoC included.

WoW is just still very very popular compared to others out there. The game just got lucky and caught on to the masses...to which I, in my humble opinion, attribute to two things:

    1) Since the game itself doesnt require much on the graphics end...you dont need the latest and greatest gaming rig out there...a crappy ass system will do...

    2) Mmm...the Leeroy Jenkin video that spreaded across the net like wildfire

All I know is AoC didnt pass the long playability test for me...to which it means I have cancelled my sub within one or two months. I have only done this with two other games:  1) DDO (horrible!) 2) LOTRO (too simplistic). With other games...I have invested 6 months to 2 or more years and sometime coming back to them again, such as SWG (Pre NGE), WoW, Lineage II, EQ2, CoH, Guildwars (all series), and Vanguard.

As to AoC, someone said its not so much the launch day bugs but the content and this is true. The devs made it so you can level  fast in the game (well until your 60s anyway...then its just a huge xp grind fest) that theres not much for end content. My other thoughts on AoC:

    1) The ingame graphics are beautiful but why did they have to make the armors and weapons so mundane and ugly looking?

    2) I have one of the better gaming rigs out there yet ingame fps is very low and constant hitching can be a pain...these problems shouldnt be a big deal in the future since i'm sure the devs and vidcard vendors will resolved the framerate issues with given time.

    3) The devs are falling into that same old trap...they are nerfing alot of classes already...when they really should make fixing gaming bugs as their main priority...because since launch day alot of the classes feats and abilities are broken.

    4) The directional attacks are innovative...yet they grew old fast since I just find myself mashing more buttons than the usual MMO. I know the devs are working on fixing the problem but guild vs guild battles and sieges are a frame by frame event. I frankly find the PvP of Guildwars alot better implemented and requires more individual skills and team strategies...and nothing so far beats the massive GvG battles in Lineage II.

    5) On a bright note, AoC does have the sweet...sweet fatalities. Though I find it pretty ironic and funny that other mob can still bang on you while the gory animation runs its courses.

    6) Aww man...I almost forgot...I'm not sure if this happens on other servers but on my server I get constant private and mail spam from gold sellers...worse that WoW...seriously...

    Anyway thats my two cents

It was a great launch, but I think people are upset about the content.
