I ve seen a few reports that its going to be released early oct....the fourth to be exact..Is there any credibility to this date?

You already answered your question! Wait until Mythic, or better yet Paul Barnett will prolly be the one to announce it in a video!
All I have heard being released is fall. They probably still want fudging room so they haven't set an actual date in stone.

I think they are headed towards a great time for release, even though it's not planned. Winter is better for gaming, since you're not at the beach or hiking in the mountains usually. AND I don't t they they will be directly competing with a new Warcraft expansion, also this will be several months after the AoC publicity has died down.
Seems like it will work out well as far as timing goes.
TBH I'm trying not to fret about the release date of this game. In an ideal world the game would be a finshed product already and would ship tommorow. Obviously this isnt going to happen, but surely that same finshed game released later would be better (from an enjoyment perspective as well as a sales perspective) than an un-finished bugghy product.
Basicly, relax and take it easy. Speculation about the date brings it no further towords us. The game will release before we know it, and im sure it will be worth the wait
Several games have said fall release and end up spring of following year all most all the recent big releases.

i would put some money down on Mythic releasing WAR this fall.
if WAR were to be released tomorrow it would be more stable , have more content and be a hell of a lot more fun then a recently released MMO .
i can't go into details or any thing but WAR is in good shape right now . a few more months of testing / adding content ... i think we will see more then just beta testers playing WAR this fall
they will shoot for before the wow expansion. no need to be dumb and compete with that, even if word of mouth says many will switch.
Yeah since they said Fall or whatever I am thining it go somewhere between Oct-December really. We will probably know for sure by August if they plan to release it on October or so.
I think another long puch back is very unlikely EA and such have too much in this sucker and the more it delays the less hype it really gives people as people mvoe on to other things. So I think October is a perfect release time for them that gives me around 3 more months of polish to add.

I just threw a dart at my calender. It said. Oct 14th. That's as close as you'll get with all your guessing.
I agree that EA is probably not going to announce another launch delay, but I get this feeling that the game will be launched in the first half of September - this is from a silly speculation.
In a recent interview (available in GameTrailers.com if no one here has linked it yet), Jeff Hickman made a weird face when he said that WAR "will be out this fall, absolutely". The face got me wondering if the executive producer was thinking over a "last minute" release in mid-November, or something crazy like kicking off a pre-launch ceremony at a late-summer gaming convention like Penny Arcade Expo and releasing the game right after before kids go back to school in most states. Sorry, I was really bored.
Over at gamestop they said that the release has been pushed up and should be coming out in september. But of course nothing is ever set in stone unless it is set by the person who created it.
I think if there was going to be some major delay like if it was going to be pushed back til after the 1st of the year they would have said so by now. It's looking like oct is a pretty good bet. I just hope the game is in good shape at release because this paying to beta test games trend is really getting old.
all we know is, that WAR will hopefully be released within the nxt 6months. But as we has been told many times, they will NOT release WAR untill its perfect. thats why they never officiel made a release date. remember, fall is also just a est. release!
So pls ppl, stop making more threads about release date!!! seen at least a few every single week, with that same "i know the release date becouse X-games told me" 
Only the officiel release date counts, when its on www.warhammeronline.com , anything beside that is just guessing ! 
E3 is in three weeks... then I think you shall have your release date...

Fall 2008 could be anywere from Sept 22nd to Dec 21st.
I'll put my money on sometime in Decmeber just in time for Christmas, but I hope I'm wrong.
As Mark Jacobs has recently stated, the current release date is set in mud. As the beta phases progress, if he likes what he sees, the mud will begin to harden and become solid. We should know sometime before September if the mud has hardened or not, since come September that gives no more than two months to launch unless another delay hits.
Essentially, the current release date of fall (somewhere around October, if retailers are to be believed in the slightest) will stick unless some large issues appear. Since guild beta is beginning soon, I doubt many large issues will appear, since this is one of the final stages of beta that is going to see a massive influx of testers meant to test the general game with a focus more on playability and fun than fixing game-breaking bugs.
At any rate, they have another five months left to release in time for the holidays, and in that time you can bet they will push hard to make it. Despite what EA Mythic says, there is never such a thing as unlimited funds and unlimited development time, after all, and I bet EA is expecting this thing to drop in 2008.
It seems like EA's confidence and patience would start to wear dangerously thin if they asked for another release delay.

My guess would be a late Novemeber release date. From what I hear the game is in decent shape so bring on the guilds!!
I wouldn't see the sense in another delay. They have to the end of fall as of right now doesn't officially end till December so they have over 5 months to throw some spit and polish on the game. Personally I think it will be ready to go late October as my guess.

Well even if they know by September since Guild Beta releases like this coming week or something then they will have plenty of time to get Open beta up and go gold. Because I am sure if they know they are to release they will begin the gold process way before. So a end of Septemeber first of October date isn't out the window.
One thing November release may be out because WOTLK comes out then and I know they will not go up against them. Because with WOW's big following they probably wanna beat WOTLK to market because some consumers will not spend the $50 for one game and then another they wanna try. But if WAR comes out before people will be anxious for a new WOW expansion and try something new while they wait. This is for the people who do even play WOW who will be buying the game mind you.
But this is how they are probably thinking because that expansion is gonna be there biggest competition right now. And WOTLK beta is starting soon and everyone says it should be good to go by November or December. So really October will be the only good month they could release and not get boned. I sure hope it does come out by then.
