If you haven't already been on a free trial recently, like within a few months or so, and have not been banned from the game, then you should be able to log in free of charge until the end of July.

Even for free, I'd still feel like I was getting screwed....
I'm not playing any games and I think I want to give SWG a try. Which is the best RP server for new players? And can you or anyone post a link to the Free trial download?

Have you noticed that a lot of former players feel they got royally burned by the two companies that run this game?
Have you noticed that many of these players are still upset over everything they lost and over how they felt misled?
Do you know that some of these players requested subscription refunds and were denied, and still feel that they were literally robbed?
Do you know that some of the key issues with the NGE format that SOE promised to fix the day after it was released are still present in the game today?
In light of all of this, why does anyone think that offering a free trial is going to resolve all of these issues? SOE and LEC always seemed extremely disconnected from their main audience. It seems that this is still the case, sadly.
To hell with this game for good...they have made the bounty hunter class 100% worthless in the newest chapter. If you have a bounty on you, all you have to do is check a box and it hides you....that is fuckin bullshit. It completely nullifies the bounty hunter class. *speechless* Now I feel the pain that everyone felt with the precu to NGE felt.

It's not just SWG..I checked my station account and found not only SWG for free,,but EQ2 aswell..and..here's the kicker...A full month ..free..of Vanguard...A game i have never bought..I beta tested it for exactly 4 hours one day..got so frustrated because my machine wouldn't run it even at the lowest setting I deleted it the same day i downloaded it.Sounds like SOE in general may be hurting.

Everyone gets the shaft eventually in SWG. It is an equal opportunity shaft the players kinda game.
I never played a BH, but every BH I knew was dedicated to hunting and killing jedi....
ONe time in Mos Eisley (my first profession was master musician) there must have been over 40 ppl in the cantina just chillin, we had a massive amount of grouping going on....
One of the other music players was just doing his thing...
and all the sudden I heard that same sound that zapped princess lea in the original movie when she was captured in Ep. IV "there's one...set for stun!" u know the sound...
and the guy playing the fuzz next to me suddenly exploded across the floor dead in one hit...lol...everyone in the cantina was SHOCKED....horrified!!! he was killed completely by surprise....and I remember it being one of THE defining moments in swg.... where dying meant something.......ahhh...good times.
now it's all gone with a check? sad.

Some of my best SWG friends have e-mailed me about it. We used to fly around in deep space and PvP. Cant wait to that again.

And then what OP? I would start playing and in a few months everything i enjoyed,worked towards,and desired in the game could be removed without notice. I'm not willing to put myself through that again.
SWG just isn't the game it used to be and it makes it less fun for me for some reason. Even if it were completely free all the time, it wouldn't be fun.

There is a new search tool for players ... if you are /anonymous (which most PvPers have been for quite some time), you don't show up on the search tool. But you can still be hunted. The anonymous function has not and does not work on BH droids.

OK, I was referring to something that was NOT a fact ... in fact, it was the opposite of a fact ... and you tell me that "facts get in the way." Amazing.

Kobie, it doesn't really matter if you agree with the "former BH" or not. All that really does matter, is he has found the gamebreaking CHANGE (for him) and canceled.
You, as a current subscriber, get 1 less person to kill in PVP, 1 less person to group with for PVE, SOE gets 1 less 15.00 p/month, Customer Service gets a little less $ every month and cuts the small staff they have, SOE Austin has a little less $ every month and cuts the amount of content or CHANGES (not really a bad thing here) they can add, and there is 1 more unsubed, disgruntled vet out there.
Sooner or later they CHANGE the game on everyone. Sooner or later one of these CHANGES will be gamebreaking.
It will even happen to you. How's that for the cold, hard, facts of the case?

O.k. so I've played SWG, WoW and now play CoH. Tbh, I've never seen game changes outright screw so many different players over like I've seen in SWG. Here's a short review:
Creature handlers: promised new features in expansion, then deleted,
Squad leaders and Rangers, promised revamps and to become more important in the game, then deleted,
Crafters: hosed by the NGE loot system,
Jedi: major hosing by NGE click to become force sensitive, invalidating years of progress and removing jedi content,
Doctors: crafted stims replaced by magic heals,
Insert one of 30 plus deleted professions here, just gone, wiped out--leaving only 9 classes that are a shadow of what once was,
Faction rank: reset to 0 with new faction system,
Entertainers: when they lost mind buff ability and mind wound-healing, leaving them with virtually nothing useful to do in the game.
Now apparently Bounty Hunters.
Is there any single profession or group of players in SWG that has never taken a massive kick in the groin from SOE and LEC over the course of this game?
