Damn near impossible to find a copy of the game

Well my brother in law is desperate to get a copy of the game, we tried every store withing a 100 mile radius, and it's always the same story Backordered, so he tried ordering from Gogamer it said the game would ship within 24 hours after he ordered it he got an email saying the game was temporarily backordered, so he ordered from Amazon that email said the game will ship in 72 hours maybe more.  I'm stunned that it is so hard to grab a copy of the game...can someone who has been saying that there are tons of copies on the shelves of their local game store give me thier location? I figure I can call them up and have them mail directly if all else fails.

Thanks in advance

Just buy it online and download. Hell, come to my town , there are tons on the shelf collecting dust. I travel for a living an I've yet to find a town that doesn't have loads of copies on their shelves. Your local game shop either got short-shipped or didn't think smart enough and order enough. But, like i said already, just buy it online and download it, that simple.

Edit: To clarify, if you can order online from these places then you have a credit card, i bought my off the conan website, no need to get excited.

I see plenty of copies at all the best buys in the western suburbs of detroit area.  Pick anyone you want.

My WalMart has 5 collector editions and at least 10 regular editions. My local Best Buy has probably close to 50 on a nice big cardboard display.

I find it hard to believe my local stores are the only ones that stocked up on this game.

Heh, my local Best Buy has their PC and Console sections really close together!  There was this huge PoS3 display, and this huge AoC display both full and collecting dust!  Quite a few CE's as well too, so BS on they're all sold out!  Come to my town, there are plenty...hehe

Woah, bud. Maybe that's why it hasn't sold? Or is that too obvious for you?

Are they actually being sold at that price though?  Honestly, it seems a bit risky.  I mean, I remember WoW:BC Collector's Edition being incredibly hard to find.  Well, to this day at my local Fry's, there are at least a dozen of those green boxes sitting on the shelves.

As for AoC...there's a lot at my local Best Buy.  Ironically, I tend to get my PC games at the big stores instead of places like Gamestop.  Seems to me, Gamestop concentrates on console games and I find they don't stock their PC games well, even new ones.

That's not being sold over a hundred...that being sold at $10 under normal retail price with a buy-it-now tag of over a hundred and still not selling!

Here's a better one CE $30 under normal retail price, with free shipping and still not selling!

Yep there isn't an organized contingent out there trying to negatively spin the game.

The mods asked for proof I think this is a great example, thanks Khrymson you helped us out a lot.

Never, ever use ebay for recent tech; software (games), hardware, or whatever. Those idiots will take you to the cleaners. The *only* reason to use ebay is that you can't find the item anywhere else. Chances are, if you can find the item elsewhere, you will find ebay is ripping your ass off.

Not sure how you can't find copies. I seen plenty of copies at every Wal-mart I have been in that past few weeks.

    I call BS.

Every game store where I live has dozens of copies of it.

Well, I live in Canada, but I can confirm that every video game retailer in my area that I have visited has at least 10 copies of Age of Conan each, even the smaller shops.

If I were inclined to purchase the game, it would not be hard, that is for sure. But alas, I have zero interest.

Anyway, I find it hard to believe that one area in particular is all sold out given that most people are reporting their local stores have dozens of copies. Maybe you live in an area full of fans.

With the publicity the game is receiving now, though, I am willing to bet any subsequent shipments will not sell out too quickly.

Or you could be like me.  I haven't shopped locally for software in 10 years. I have bought software locally, but that is only when the match an online price, or their online price is up to par (sans gamestop and in the midwest, microcenter).

If he couldn't find the game, not even on the internet for god's sake, he must be SOE's target market.

Oh right, he must want boobs...

This situation is very common with successful games, in some places it will be sold out, but not everywhere.

But what I found very funny is, why so many people related to Warhammer fanbase always express something  pessimistic and negative  about Age of Conan, not about the real issues of performance or content, but about how Age of Conan will go down and down.

I mean, there are 3 upcoming big releases , Warhammer, the unique The Chronicles of Spellborn and the unique and impressive Aion.

Why only the Warhammer crowd is on a not exacly declared war against Age of Conan?

Both are totally different games with totally different lores, if you wont play both, why care?

Age of Conan has a lot of haters and disapointed people, but the Warhammer crowd attitude is very, very caracteristic...

But I wonder why, why this happens only with War fans from the 3 upcoming MMOs?

Box copies are odd for some games... you'll often find if a game is popular that some places will be overstocked and others will be in a large need of more orders of that game.

I remember trying to get a copy of SWG about 3 years ago for me was almost impossible... my local area simply did not have them. But from what I've found they've been in overstock for many other areas.
