Earthrise was the first one that came to mind for me too. I believe the devs have made comments that they very much intend to make it sandbox. I'll see if I can find some posts or interviews from them.

If the current SWG is not a sand box then neither is FE.

At best it's a hybrid themepark with minor sandbox elements.

lol ac 1 is more of a open game then any listed. and yes dungeons to change and the game adds new content every month.
In Ac you choose the way you want to play... hell you could lvl by gambling all day and making cookies...
Tis true, wouldn't put FE (much as I love it) on a sandbox list, everything about it is hybrid - from targetting on up (fps aiming with rpg damage rolls) to basic design (not-railed, themepark/sandbox, not ffa PvP, no death penalty worth worrying about etc. etc.).
Saying it's a sandbox will make many people think Darkfall or Mortal Online, and FE isn't like either of them. It's sandboxy for a themepark, but it's no sandbox.
I'm not dissing the game btw, I love its genetically spliced mutant version of MMO-dom, just don't want people expecting something from it it can't deliver, applying the sandbox label will do that.

FE isnt a sandbox, Im calling it a junkyard. Which is better, you can create a lot more out of junk then from sand and it relates to FE typical scavenging, where the next pile of junk can hold the treasure that you are seeking
But not Kingman junkyard with those ever-spawning dogs.....or one of the ones that is exclusively populated by hermit crabs:
"SKREEEEEEEE!" and there goes your horse, your mutt and anything else in the vicinity with a pulse.....
Apart from that, junkyard sounds cool ; )
Of course its not True. Unless you define truth as whatever you guys come up with. Everyone has their own definition of words like MMORPG and sandbox. There is absolutely no concensus about those words.
It is ridiculous to state your opinion about the definition of these words as fact.
Some of you also cant grasp the idea that you can have a sandbox (whatever definition) with so called themepark elements.
