My PC is crap, its motherboard only supports PCI and not AGP, so i have a question:
-Which of the following videocards is the best?
*GeForce FX 5200 PCI
or
*ATI Radeon 9200 PCI
and why?
I appreciate your help

give credit to murt for finding this chart... I didnt find the Radeon one on this chart.
However, I would seriously suggest in investing a small amount of money in a newer Mobo.

Im going to buy one of those for now, and in Spring 2005 ill buy a new high-end PC .
Im going to buy the videocard next week, so i need help
Oh BTW
It is Radeon 9200 SE PCI -VS- GeForce 5200 PCI (not the SE)
Both have 128 MB
I dont know thats a tough question..
I have a Geforce 4600 128 and the only reason why I never upgraded to the G 5200 128 was because I heard the 4600 was still more powerful than the 5200. Very weird I know.
Radeon, on the otherhand, are rock solid graphic cards.
Question: Are you planning on using this for EQ2?

: Are you planning on using this for EQ2?
It wont be able to run EQ2
Thats why im going to buy an Alienware next year
the GF 4600 is one of the best video cards ever made. For people on a budget that want power I highly recommend it. If you get the GeForce 4 Ti 4600 SE 128 MB card you get a stable high end card. I prob won't upgrade till the 6 series comes down in prices.

Isnt GF4 only for mobos with AGP????
is GF4 better than Radeon 9200 SE or GeForce 5200?
Remember, my mobo only supports PCI
Oh yes, then your outta luck. :P Sorry, I guess I am just skimming through the forums. Very tired tonight. The 4600 won't work with PCI as far as I know. As far as performance I would say yes it is better than the 5200, however, I don't know about the Radeon.

Hehe plz
btw, dont go AlienWare..I own one. Its awesome but not worth the money, IMO
You can do just as well as to buy all the pieces yourself at newegg.com (same exact parts minus the stylus case) and still save yourself over 60%.
The one Im building now is from newegg.

Thx for your advice.
I found something so horrible that it pisses me off

you weren't kidding about you having a low end computer.

Playing with my PC is every gamer´s nightmare
Thats why im going to buy a high end PC next year.
BTW.....How can i know how many watts my case has?
There's a box located on the upper rear side of your case...shape of a cube located inside (its where you actually plug your cord into). Some power supply boxes has the info on the outside of the box (usually somewhere near your cord).
They look like this:

Lets hope it has a power supply
"What is this?the Flintstones?" Cartman in Iraq
I'm willing to bet its a 250. Was the computer bought around 2000? From the sound of your current mobo, many factories installed 250s in their cases.
If you do have a 250 then you may want to find out what the power minimum is for a 5200...I seriously doubt you can run it on 250 but I dont know for sure.
If you do need to buy one, you'll be in another dilemma:
1. If you DEFINETLEY plan on buying a new premade computer next year, get the 350..u can get one for 40 bucks at Best Buy.
2. If you think you may buy parts and have someone build it for you, go for the 450 or 500 (if you can find them).

-The Verto GeForce FX 5200 Video Card, PCI, 128MB DDR requires 250 watts
-The Asylum GeForce FX 5200 Video Card, PCI, 256MB DDR requires min. 250 watts/300 recommended
-The Conquerer FX 5200plus Video Card, PCI, 128MB DDR requires 250 watts
Problem is, i couldnt find abour the Radeon 9200
well, at least you know you can run those cards. That's always a good sign.
Now, the second biggie is your RAM. You dont have much of a ceiling there..your maximum is 512. That's ok. But needs to be replaced soon.
Doesn't computer upgrades sucks?
At least they've gotten cheaper. My first computer cost me 2400 dollars and you do not want to know the specs on that...back in 1991.

i have a cheap radeon 9200 i got for $50, mine is agp though and i can run Call of duty and any DX8 game perfect. i know call of duty is DX 9 but it still runs perfect. i had a 1ghz duron before this pc i built on my own for $500 and yes go newegg if you are building yourself.
you really should just wait to buy a new card so you can just get everything in one shot, atleat thats what i would do.
I am going to buy a new computer, meanwhile, ill buy a PCI videocard.
Damn, are you sure my PC has 250 watts? i opened my case and found the power supply without the description
Right now im going for the GeForce FX5200 PCI 128 MB
Do not go with a PCI card. They are competely junk- they are both way slower(pci 133 to agp 2,133) and more expensive then their agp 8 counterpart. Save that money, and buy a decent pc.

Nah, my PC has a TNT 2 right now, and my beloved AO doesnt run like it should be (because of the recent patches)
So im going to spend 100-130 bucks only for AO, but dont worry, im going to play it only for a few months.
This is what im going to buy for EQ2: (no, maybe it wont be a high-end PC, but well....)
350 watt case (or 480, if i can afford it)
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
AOpen AK89 Max
Corsair or Kingston 512MB DDR RAM PC3200 (2)
Radeon 9800
Seagate 200 GB
16x DVD Drive
Are you trying to play RuneScape or what???????
