If you think the game is progressing well, and you have hit a minimal number of bugs or issues, then I would like to know how many hours a day you play..
If you play more than 8 hours a day please use the final answer
Finally if you wish, I would be interested in your age and if you are married or in a committed relationship or at least have children.
Thank you

How can a game be progressing well when 2 months into release they still have not implemented many aspects of the game that should have been available at launch and were even on the retail box? Not to mention the fact that the playerbase is leaving in droves. Then theres the stability issues, customer service issues, lack of communication from the development team about when issues will be fixed and numerous other problems. I know some people will flame, but I don't deny that people may have fun with this game, I just think it's going to be shortlived.
No, I do not think AoC (Funcom) is doing a good job. They lied
Would you also like our social security number and all our credit card numbers, bank accounts and pictures?
You left out a choice... I only play for 30 seconds a week so I can't pointlessly vote for you sorry.
Also as far as I'm concerned good job Funcom for being a company who's bottom line is to make money and being successful. I had no interest in this game from the moment it was announce but there was a beta just like every other game yes? and people posted comments about the beta yes? and you still ran out and bought it instead of waiting to see if it was worth it right? People should know by now that all companies do is try to make money... all anyone does is try and make money... so they aren't looking out for anyone but themselves.

To do what you should have done... read up on if the game was worth spending the money for or not.

maybe the same reason you still post on the LoTRO forums even though you said you quit playing it a year ago.

Nope, have played LOTRO within the last 2 months actually. And AoC within the last month.
Sorry.
No, I don't think its progressing as quickly as it should, but I do think its progressing.
I've been pretty casual in my playtime on this game, (started about 3-4 days after launch) so I've currently got a level 55 Sin and a 37 TOS.
I've certainly hit the bugged quests on more than one occasion, which are annoying , but not game breaking when you can' t complete them. (though the Arena bug continues to haunt my 55)
My son and I routinely hit the memory leak issue (me on my laptop more often than him) and of course, periodic lag spikes that range from momentary annoyance to long pause to outfight D/C's.
We've been fortunate that our three classes (Sin, TOS, and BS) have experience little in the terms of changes or nerfs to our classes that would frustrate us. I imagine classes like Necro's and Rangers are much more vexing due to their many recent changes.
On to your other questions, we still play, but of course have our doubts. I am married, (wife hates gaming), and more kids (mostly all grown up) and pets (no so grown up) than I care to remember.
My son plays along side me about 1-2 days a week however he still prefers to spend most of his time, (especially when his friends are around) playing WOW. (Oh yah...girls seem to be taking more of his gaming time as well)

I play on average 3 hrs per day, however, havent played more than 1hr in last 5 days due to graphical glitch where I can't see health bars (pointless in fighting). Waiting for that to get fixed first.

I think they have fixed many issues. A lot of people here quit in the first couple weeks. Things have changed alot since then.

I see, so just like FC, you don't want input from people who aren't currently playing but still have time on their account.
And as far as coming to this forum, first, what do you care, and second, I paid for the game and three months so I'll post where I please, k thx.

I quit after my 30 days, including the EA time.
And based on feedback, it looks like more things are getting broke than fixed...so, this seems to be an anomaly (and the fact you mention a glitch in your first sentence, yet follow up with "fixed many issues"...lol)
But, thanks for the input. Looks like my question is being answered as I felt.
Not at all. A lot of my friends in LOTRO said they'll be quitting / being inactive for AoC. And about a week later most of them returned with horrible experiences...
Dunno what that means to you guys, but to me it sure as hell doesn't mean AoC is doing good.

Either you are Actively playing or not.
Its as simple as that. Who is in a better position to give a clear concurrent opinon. Not to mention up to date.
The guy who quite after 2 weeks because they hated it, and certainly gave their opinon not stop already.
or moving on nearly 2 months later.
The subscriber who still actively plays who can give an up to date opinon on how things are going.
The fact I think everyone can agree on is that there have been a lot of patches some have been good and some bad, the game is still in a transitional stage, and more bugs are to be expected. Whether you have fun or not is down to the person.
AoC is not progressing or getting better. The July 17 patch made that excruciatingly clear. Amongst the best bugs introduced with this patch, these were by far the best:
1. Added NPC guards to player guild cities which would sometimes aggro guild members
2. People turning invisible in PVP, thus you can't fight back or target them
3. People in your group/raid vanishing
4. Custom UI mods causing major in-game glitches
What makes these bugs even better is that Funcom has had a test server for the past week or two, and somehow missed these crippling bugs. The next day, they had to have extensive downtime to implement a "hot fix" to repair the most devastating bugs, but others still exist.
I've never seen a game company fail to utterly to repair or add features to their game, post-launch. This is a failure of SOE proportions.
I should also probably point out that GMs are beyond worthless in this game. Players tend to know more than GMs, even when it comes to the simplest things. Clearly Funcom has outsourced their customer service to people who know little or nothing about the game itself.
AoC is beyond a failure. It is an abortion of an MMO, produced by a company with a long history of lying to its customer base combined with poorly optimized programs that are riddled with bugs.
I quit after my 30 days, including the EA time.

When I have gone back in the game with alts, those broken quests in the first 30 levels were fixed. Quest markers were fixed, ability to craft things fixed. Spells, stats and looks have been improved or fixed, more mobs in area's have been added, A.I. improved. These are noticeable things for me from the first, second, third and fourth time round.
When you have a favourite class type and play it, and it gets nerfed in line. You scream foul (not you personally, but people) A lot of this has gone on.
Yes a lot of things have been fixed and a lot of stuff is still broken. Not lying here. If your asking for overall improvement? Then i would have to say yes on the whole.
As for the invisibilty glitch people like to harp on about (like post above) what happened???
What did Funcom do?
They read the forums and a few hours later brought the servers back down and fixed it for the weekend so people who play most then could enjoy the game.

Sorry.
So playing in the last two months makes my opinion valid then ? I don't think Funcom could pour urine out of a boot if you told them the directions were written on the heel and I have played zero hours this week and I think they took what was not that bad of a game at release and are trashing it more and more each patch instead of fixing it, adding content and improving their CS.
I miss DAoC
Which patches have been good? Because I haven't seen one that hasn't either broken more than it has fixed or created more imbalance issues between classes.
What do you mean the game is in a transitional stage? Transitioning from what? From beta? Maybe, though beta was actually more stable, which floors me. Sorry, but I'm not going to pay to play a beta. I wouldn't do it for Vanguard, and I'm not doing it for AoC. And frankly, Vanguard had much more potential than AoC does right now.
if you are able to have fun in AoC, then you're the type of person who can have fun for hours with a few rubber bands in the corner of a room.

You see your statements are all opinion and presumptuous based on your own likes / dislikes.
Quite a few patches have been good, like the one for sieging that didnt boot you out of the border kingdom when you die fix. Many graphical clothing glitches, nerfs on necros who were too powerful at higher levels, improvements for rangers etc. Plenty out there. Maybe your game time was limited and you didnt see them? Fixed the Arena, quest markers, rewards, group encounters, raid caves on and on.
If you didnt experience something broken first time around how would you know it was broken to begin with? I have the capacity to admit I havent seen all of the game from the point of view of all classes to get a better understanding, have you?
Its transitioning from release, thats self evident. What new born baby doesn't cry? AoC has growing pains and its working through them sometimes really well and some weeks not so well. No one is asking you to pay for a game you think is beta. Just let it go a while if you think that, every new game I have played has had issues. Every single one. Some more than others, forsure. Look at all the crap AO went thru and tell me FC dont have the ability to fix things.
Whats important here is how fast and how well they can do it here in AoC's case. No one is saying stay around while this is happening, everyone has a choice. Either you can have fun in the game or you can't, and people have to decide if what they are getting is worth their money.
Are people in game having fun? Yes they are and there are lots of them. Are their people who just don't get on with the game? Yes their are and there are plenty of them too.
Guild Rivalry, Politics and Fighting is on-going an fantastic.
Is their scope for fun even in the buggy world of AoC. You betcha.

As examples of fun to be had in a buggy siege system.
Week in Week out people who are consistantly playing the game can see the changes are for OVERALL the better, the best place to search is the server specific forums, not to mention in game itself. Yes its a good place to read whats messed up too!
What if I play 10min a day and then give up because the game is so very horrible? I don't get a vote?
AA...the game was better before they patched it than it is now. I could have dealt with the bugs and all, but the patches were brutal. Nerf this nerf that, make this stronger, make this weaker, shorten this timer make this timer longer, etc, etc. I know they are just tryin to make the game better but Im at the point where I dont think they have a clue what theyre doing.
I hit the cancel button the other day when they nerfed the terrain. I am a lvl 75 guardian in keshatta tryin to make it to 80. I jump up on a hill (a hill I have been on many times before) and I cant get up the damn thing. I was like "wtf??". After a few tries, I fall through the terrain with npc's attacking me as Im swimming to safety under ground.
I swim back to shore and then go to another hill (that i knew I could climb the day before) and the same fucking thing happened. As I sat in the water under ground, I pondered if AoC was worth my time and money to put up with this shit. It only took me about 30 seconds to log off, go to the subsciption page and hit the cancel button.
After I hit the cancel button I went to the AoC forums to tell of my misadventures only to find my account banned for a week for trolling for telling this story. After I saw that, I deleted the whole game from my comp and threw the CE box in the trash.
I will NEVER buy another funcom product EVER. And I hope those pricks go out of business for all the lies and bs that they have told all of us mmo gamers who paid to play this pos.
No, as the question is "IF" you play. It is the basis for the question. Playing and then giving up is not what I am looking for.
The reasoning for the question is simple. I believe there is a correlation between how long a person plays that says they enjoy ANY game, and the actual amount of time.
So many people seem to be pleased with AoC (and some other games which also baffle me), and as I find out, they usually play a total of maybe 1-3 hours a day. Or if they play more, they maybe have 2-4 days of play time each week.
I honestly think this masks the player from seeing the myriad number of problems in the game. The less you play, the less issues you see.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Funcom is not capable of making a polished product. They have neither the programming talent, leadership, or ideas to improve the game. This is evident from the piss poor patches, which they delay by the way to "test" them.
They spend a good deal of time squelching dissent, covering their butts, and making excuses for failing at almost every aspect of the game.
AoC would have been a good game in the hands of a competent dev team, but IMO it's future is just another "coulda been" MMO which will survive with merged servers and a dedicated fanboy base. Some people love crap, but that's life. Too bad the player base as a whole won't send a message with teeth (no subs) to FC, but some will always support bad games.
I believe the less people play in a session, the less they will notice these things though.
Over 30, married, no children.
I think the game is getting better for sure. I am having fun again in an MMORPG.
My other half plays as well.
And how often do you play? 1-3 hours a day...20+ a week or less?
