Omygawd... /cry That was great thank you so much, my memory pales in comparison to what Atys is like.
@ randomt, likewise that's a great response :P May be you will get a brand new server, but I hope it's not the end all and be all of your decision to play or not. Because it is still amazing and the people already there are great too, and I'm not saying this as a long time member of the Ryzom community because I was not a very big part of it at all.
To end I still think you could do all that in a server that is not wiped, since these worlds are always changing and we don't even know how many people will come back that were active before, the vocal forum community is I imagine no where near the amount of players that were actually playing. So maybe even if they don't wipe these servers they may feel different. It's a thought. ^_^
I think the first initial reopening of the servers (this 'free' period) will not bring back many players, at least for what i remember no more than a hundred peeps stayed till the end, in Arispotle. Anyway i dunno if other people even with active accounts just no more logged because of the pending ending. (also rememebr the bad lag moment, when the servers were not maintained for a while, that drained a lot of players out of the game).
So, we have to wait the second step, when the devs will reopen Atys fully for everyone, to see what will be the new impact.
About a new server, I think all depends on how much players Ryzom can get into.
As you know, already in the past, with Windermeer first (the old US server) then lately with Cho, Ryzom tried to make more servers, always ending up with a necessary merge.
Hopefully, if the game relaunch well, there will be room for more.
hi all, i have been reading these forums for ages, but never thought about participating. As a plus i dont have good english. But i m gonna try to explain my point of view.I hope i can manage.
I m a arispotle player who played the game more than a year, met with ryzom after gameforge bought it and played it until it died.So when i joint the game, situation wasnt really different than now.The game had a history already, there were multi-mastered veteran players around. The history had already written, homins already had choosen their sides, their guilds. But i have never thought that i need a fresh start.( I had always wanted to join new games or new servers, until i found out Ryzom).Cause Ryzom is not a race style game like other mmoprgs.Let me try to explain, at other mmorpgs everyone trying to out lvl eachother, cause there is no ending and outlvling someone brings u some advantages, and at these mmoprgs ppl races for items (to have better ones, cause there are ppl around who are same lvl and same race as with u, but they have 12k hp while u have only 8k) ,in ryzom better ones are not a big deal( u ll have it for sure after playing a year)and for normal ones u dont have to do anything to get them, this old players will help u for that. And at some point of the game (after getting 1 melee and 1 magic master) u will have the same HP, same stats with these 4 years old players. So there will be no differences between u and them. But there is difference between wiping servers and not wiping. If the old players keeps their toons, then u will be able to catch them easier with help of them.Ryzom is a generaiton game. There is an old generation who have experience but believe me they dont write the history anymore, they did, now they just helping younger ones to write their own. This is the games itself. And this is what makes the community good.Ryzom has 4 years old past. But there is no real 4 years history in game anymore.Game doesnt have that long memory. There will be only the new generation s history. So u can still be a part of it.You can still create and write your history. And u can get help from elders while doing that.Ryzom is a game which worths to experience.
Well i said that i joint to the game in a situation like now.U might be asking what i did in Ryzom, how i participate to write a history.I might be an 1 year old player, but i have masters as much as elders have.I m a guild leader which has even ops. And i m really proud of to say that elders werent there and hadnt helped me , i wouldnt be able to do any of these. Now its my turn to help.Pls give Ryzom a chance, and let us help u with our experiences and our friendship. And be sure guys , oneday we will ask u to help to the newers than you are.
I can't wait for this to come back, I played for about 3 months and regret not sticking with it. If they do a wipe or just reinstate the original servers , I wouldn't mind either way.
OMG that's the news I've been waiting to hear! woooooooooooottttt! And @ Sam: I wish I had half the talent you have in Video making! Now all I wanna hear is when will the gme re-open!
Ryzom is 4 years old. Even with a complete wipe of all characters, there will always be history already made. Before the wipe, before the close, before the first set of new owners, before the lag, etc, etc. etc.
When Arispotle finally crashed, we had to start fresh on a different server. No problem. Within hours we had our guild set up and we were rebuilding ourselves. There is no way Ryzom will ever be new again. My personal history started on the day I first stepped onto the starter island. It will continue as long as Ryzom continues.
Come join us when you can, randomt. Start your own personal Ryzom history. Those of us who came before are there to help if you want help. If you want to go it solo, we will shout encouragement from the sidelines.
It is the only place I know where you can say you need a rez and have friends, enemies and strangers reply that they are on the way.
OMG that's the news I've been waiting to hear! woooooooooooottttt! And @ Sam: I wish I had half the talent you have in Video making! Now all I wanna hear is when will the gme re-open!
Geee thanks
I´m just doing what I like to do.
And to our friend randomt:
Dear Sir, or madame
and I assume you are at least about 5 years older than me, so the form of adress is probably vaild,
I´d like to tell you that I understand your wish to figuratively set foot into "undiscovered country", so to speak.
It truly feels great to be one of the first to set virtual foot on a server and be one of the few fortunate to see things first and still pristine, in a way. I love to do so as much as any player.
But, a Game that had so many events that mattered, like the Battle aganist the Kitin for Pyr and the opening of the new Portal between Fyros and Zoraï, simply can not be whiped clean that easily.
A Tabula Rasa (no pun intended) is in a way of course a favorable starting point, like you said its history in the making and you can participate. But think of that, you´d rob all of us "oldies" of their history with a wipe.
We participated in events and retell our stories with pleasure, because for us they bulit not only the history of the Game, but the history of our charakters.
Because there are no endlessly repeartable "high level Quests" or "instances" in Ryzom, each event was unique and there fore each players outlook on it is unique, which makes the stories we can tell each other by virtual firelight unique fore each of us.
So even if there is no wipe now, you may join the game and write your own history desipte the fact.
You may participate in events that occur only once and get from them memories and experiences that belong only to you. And even if the Servers may get filled to the brim now with new players, there is never a guaranty for every one of them to participate in every event there may be, simply because no-one sane is online 24/7
This may sound unfair and there were complaints about this policy before, but everyone will get a chance to participate in one or the other momentous happening.
I still rue the fact that I wasn´t online when Gouvernor Still Wyler of New Trykoth was assasinated.
I simply wasn´t at home that day, but am I angry about it. No way.
Because I heard the stories from my friends and I listened to them and had fun with them.
It was something they had for their own.
Vice versa I was one of the lucky people who witnessed a pretty important scene taking place hidden away in the mountains of New Trykoth, shortly after. Simply by coincidence I was there and that´s something I have for my own.
So, you can be lucky too or participate in a war and experience your own failures and fortunes.
You´ll find your own story to tell, despite that we are there to help you get to your feet and maybe even learn from us. We do teach gladly and we do give with a smile.
You may find your own way and friends on Atys, so come and join us.
Wipe or no wipe.

Ryzom, we dare to be different. Do you dare to adapt?
Quite amusing that every old timer that posts posts the same thing pretty much.. "there's a history already, and you are welcome to carve your place in it" - and as I said, thats fine, but thats not the experience I was looking for, as that sort of thing is why i eventually left the game in the first place :]
I'll keep waiting to see if they put up a new shard parallel to your old ones for those of us who want a clean slate.. though I understand how that might annoy you old timers, as it would cut from the amount of fresh blood that gets infused into your own story.. But to each their own, right?
I assume that spiderweb net group is actually ex-ryzom players who bought it out to bring back. If so its likely they will also be on the old history bandwagon... so perhaps people like me are out of luck..
All this of course is assuming they can recover the character databases lol
Now i can see your point of wanting to start on a level playing field and live the things as they roll your way, BUT they tried that and we saw many players swap servers and power level as they knew where to hunt / dig and how to craft the best gear. The level playing field was gone within a week, now for me that wouldnt be a bad thing as im a "old timer" but not as old as some of the players. Ryzom has had major history already done that i missed and so did many others, ie the Temple Wars. With the new owners we can only hope for more chances to help shape Atys once again.
As its been said you make your own history on the rootball, be it solo or in a Guild. If solo you will recive as much or as little help as you want this also go`s for being in a Guild. Only difference is in a Guild you get a few extra bits and a lot more chat options All 3 Factions( Karavan / Kami / Neutrals ) will help no matter what faction you are
My advice would be to try it out when they bring the free play option back (Silan) and have a look yourself, keep in mind Mainland is nothing like Silan with missions ect. Its a true Sandbox game to do what you want when you want how you want well aslong as its within the general rules Take time in joining a Guild as to join the wrong one usally gives a bad view of the whole game, take yoiur time to get to know the other players and then choose
Perfection is something thats always one step away.
I can say one thing for sure, simply hearing most of the replies on here and other Ryzon threads I have read in the past, wipe or no wipe, I will be forging my own Ryzom destiny just as soon as they open the doors.
I can't wait to become a part of Atys and hope that the re-opening comes sooner than later

Alright then, to each their own.
But like you I am neither an idiot, nor a die hard oldtimer, or gaming-teen and I must say that I find your apparent hostility towards our attempts at helping you understand our position quite frustrating and your overt attempts of "gallows humor" rather tiresome.
For you keep finding points to debase our ideas and wants, that´s neither polite nor fair.
For someone stating to be not a gaming-teen you sure put on a good act of one.
*shakes head*
Have a nice day and I hope you´ll find what you need eventually.

Wow and I actually thought we were making progress yesterday... /facepalm
You're entitled to your opinion as always, but your responses are filled with unnecessary hostility. You paint your 'old timers' like selfish brats who jealously want to keep their plaything to themselves, I think it's the other way around.
It seems like you want to kick down the sand castle to build your own. Silly. There's no one stopping your from building an adjacent castle to go along with the older one.
Whatever! lol
Anyway excitement still abounds, though we're probably weeks away from the real excitement. ^_^ Looking forwards to seeing the new people in game!
EDIT: Oops I've been neglecting this: YAY Ryzom!!!!!!
I like the beginning of this game/the free to try area. But knowing the game was not finished kept me from subscribing to it.
Finish this game, and I will pay $ to play it. Keep it as is, no $$$.
Game was just beautiful with nice mechanics...again for a few levels that I played/explored. Also very nice people to meet and explore with.
What game is ever truely finished? The world of ryzom was meant to be a growing and developing game over time. As should any good game be. Even games with tons of subscribers like WoW, will always have some flaws, always have something changing. The lore should always change and develop over time to keep the lore nuts interested .
Hand on heart i tell you that Ryzom is not about the levels and uber players running around being well, uber. It's just not that kind of game.
Apart from attractive, deadly and somewhat uber rushin I have a fyros character. He is lv1 fight, lv1 magic, lv240 tryker digger, lv200ish PR digger. I have about 200hp as i recall (it's been a while so no one jump on me if this figure is wrong) basically one hit kill in all the areas i hang around in. But i have a brilliant time with him. I could make my life easier and smack a few yubos around, but i had a lot of fun with the challenge of PR digging when a nasty look from the vorax would kill me
you dont need to be high level to have fun, infact i think its fair to say you have a lot more fun at lower levels before getting into the 230-250 grind, so sign up when the server(s) open, explore, have fun. Gimme a shout if you like and i can give a graphic demonstration of max dp doing a run from zorai to tryker lands

Maybe what Pipwicky meant was the lack of questing, also known as hand holding that is present on Silan but not really on the main land. That was the thing that really got to me when I first tried the game, where were all my scipted quests?
Now that I've played many scripted MMO's and the worst one so far, AoC, which is still a nice game btw.. I am very tired of the scripting and just want to run around and actually interact with people and not an entire online world of NPC's. However it's not something for everyone and let's face it none of the new games prepare new comers to online games how to role play their characters and invent their own story instead of running through a series of motions in a plan that someone else made for you... ^_^
I am hoping that as the mainstream MMO player matures and grows that they develop a taste, an urge for the sandbox type of game that give wings to the imagination.
Holy carp (yes the fish), there's certainly a lot of hostility, generated by the suggestion of having a new shard for players who want a fresh start, from you older players...
Now to address some of the posts, because talking about ryzom beats sitting around staring at the walls waiting for it to come back, and there's just nothing else out there worth playing at the moment.
Originally posted by rushin hey Randomt, chill about the wipe ok Hand on heart i tell you that Ryzom is not about the levels and uber players running around being well, uber. It's just not that kind of game.
Yes, I mentioned already that my kick wasn't about being all uber and powerleveling etc.. it's a question of wanting a new history/story, with new faces, new societies and alliances, new economies, etc.. nothing more...
I played it, subscribed, went to the mainland with 2 separate races, enjoyed myself to a certain point. This was shortly after the newbie tutorial zone came out, up to around when the Ring was about to launch, if I recall.

Oh well you should see the initial text I write before editing out the hostility before hitting post lol. But yes I have a somewhat cynical view of the world, and that includes realizing that a new shard would possibly take something away from the old shards (the new people), which would possibly annoy the old timers, which would then explain why they are so hostile to the notion of a new beginning.
It's understandable, of course, but everyone should have an option, not just the "our way or the highway" repeated over and over that you see throughout the replies to my posts. They do want to keep their own history going, and so (some) lash out at me for suggesting a new shard for those who want this new world, which btw is the middle ground.. The alternatives being: Old world, Two Worlds, Server Wipe of Old World.
I am advocating two worlds, so that both get what they want.. thats not very selfish of me, although I'd prefer total wipe for population purposes
Kicking down the sand castle isn't exactly the right metaphor.. it's more like building a new sandcastle off to the side of the current one like you say, on a new server.
(uh oh, old record again!)
Originally posted by Pipwicky I like the beginning of this game/the free to try area. But knowing the game was not finished kept me from subscribing to it.
That part of the game is just a tutorial, to teach you the mechanics and a bit of how the world works, and to give you a bit of gear to kick you off on a good start.
And lastly, for some good posting fun, my good friend SaM:

There is no need to help me understand your position (or much of an attempt at explaining any position thats not just a repeat of previous posts).. I understand your position just fine, and have nothing against it, except that you perhaps are not really reading what I write, because I am not sure what debasing of ideas and wants you are referring to.. I keep saying things like "you dont want a wipe, thats fine, lets open a new shard for new players so both can have what we want without interfering with each other (except in that it might cause less new players on your server)", and you reply with things like:
Originally posted by MaDSaM For someone stating to be not a gaming-teen you sure put on a good act of one. *shakes head*
I think perhaps you should take a deep breath and look at your own posts objectively, and then curb down the aggressiveness. I do understand your response at my desire for a new server, as it would directly interfere with your world (again, by drawing away fresh players who also want a fresh start), but you have to understand that perhaps some people might not want to be forced to play your world, but would rather play their own world, see? Why is your way the only way?
Good times.
Anyway it remains to see if there'll be enough population for more than one server to start with.. if not then they perhaps would end up merging any existing servers together to make one multinational one, which would mean a pretty drastic change in the world anyway (assuming that it hadn't already happened before the game closed down.. I didnt follow its news back then). And we don't even know if the character database is recoverable yet, so there's always the possibility of forced wiping..
All these discussions about the servers are just speculative at this point. Except of course for that player who now owns the game :]

I don't think anyone ever said nay to this, only that is was unlikely and wouldn't make a difference, if it turns out to be paradise to you then hooray.
There you go again with the wiping, I don't believe it will stop the majority of players of coming back, they've been to other places and found them wanting. Even if you have to start again that's all right. If the data is lost, it's lost. It's the idea of forced wiping, on purpose wiping, that puts people off and there wouldn't be a very good reason for it in the end.
You also still don't understand what MadSam was saying, there's no taking away anything, what's happened will always be there for those people, but their personas that they lived those events with won't be. Maybe some will be able to make the very same character and call it a 'rebirth', but maybe not everyone. The same reasons people are debating against a wipe is the same reasons why you want a new shard.... There's no highway to speak of, people were trying to explain their view and you dismissed them with the same replies over and again.
Again it's the WIPE people have an issue with, an intentional one, not the building of a new shard. That would be nice and in due time hopefully there will be one.
It's fun talking to you! He he, haven't had a meaningful forum chat in while. ^_^
Lol Cynthe, I agree.. admittedly I am responding for the sake of discussion, and not really to make any kind of point. Not much else to do around here, except play fps's while waiting
Just for the record: These points are in no way meant to be of any kind of "hostility" against the recipient, wording is what it is and may perceived in different ways, it is NOT meant to incite aggressiveness or show such, unless stated otherwise. These points are meant as statements and facts as perceived by me and me alone. If I have misinterpreted any cause for one of these points then please state so. The written word can be quite confusing sometimes, especially when it comes down to its "emotional content" on boards such as these.
1. I never stated anywhere I had anything against a new shard and I wonder where you´ve got that notion from?
2. I understand and appreciate your desire to built your own world. - Never had a problem with it. So why do you keep saying I had?
3. If you don´t mind, there´s a LOT LESS hostility going around here and in particular in our responses to your proposals than in many other threads around MMORPG.com, just look at the WoW Boards when a Shard goes bonkers ... ARGH! THOSE folks are hostile
4. If you understand our position, then why do you keep interpreting it like we´re selfish brats who just want our own plaything and want to keep you out of our Sandbox? That´s not the case, we were actively inviting you! You do not want to come to our servers, okay, that´s fine with us. But why then do you keep stating we had something against a new shard? Which too is definitely is not the case. Our only arguments were that a new shard would probably not stay pristine for very long. Sorry, but your "understanding" must be flawed somewhere. Broken record anyone?
5. I may have reacted a bit aggressive yes, but I tell you what, I do not liked to be played for a fool, nor laughed at. Did you read your own posts form an "objective point of view"? If not, please do so too.
Repeating the same arguments over and over does not make them more valid and seemingly ignoring any attempt from our side to promote the real reasons we are against a wipe to you, doesn´t help either. Posting almost the same thing in different threads does not help either, apart from it being so called "trolling". Answering with *lol*s and stuff to serious questions or proposals is far from holding a serious discussion. Katirell and I already gave you a link to a very, very good explanation why a wipe would not make sense (and in a way, why a new shard would not long be so "new"), did you even read it?
6. From your words in previous posts you seem to derive a strange kind of glee from the idea of us loosing all we have built. Did you notice? Well, if not then please state so, because someone laughing at the misfortune of others or actually wishing for it is simply not a very nice person and deserves all perceived hostility that may or may not becoming his way.
7. You seem to deliberately misinterpret and ignore our arguments and then accuse us of not reading your posts with the respect they deserve or as thoroughly as they should be read. Ever thought of it being the other way around? Your way of writing like a "good uncle to a spoiled child " to us is not going to help. Accusing others, while making the same mistakes is not the way to go here. And yes, I may have made the same mistake.
8. We never said "our way is the only way", we just tried to give you a way of compromise and show you how things can work out in your favor even if there´d be no wipe, or new server opened. Those are two entirely different things.
Painting us as arrogant fools who don´t care about new players wishes for it is showing a good portion of prejudice and arrogance from your side. You seem to be convinced that all of us would go screaming to heavens if there´d be a wipe. - That´s not the case.
Some would surely be very sad and maybe some probably would even get angry and leave, but I think most would just play some new character and thats it then. If there´s a wipe, so be it.
But our hope is that there´ll be none. Why do you keep interpreting us as unhealthily selfish for that wish?
Sure it is in a way a bit selfish, for we´ve invested many an hour of play in our achievements and we´re proud of them, but why blame us for it?Would you want to loose them, if you´d gotten your wish and made your own way? And then suddenly some Company came along, bought your game and said, "Sorry, but we´ll have to wipe all your Characters."? I don´t think so. You´d probably go ballistic, eh?
"But hey, all of these achievements are virtual and can be done with minimal effort again. We know how it works and we can "play the system" to our advantage, right?"
Ironic as it may sound, that´s the way some would act on a new server.
A new server would pretty soon be "ruled" by those few "oldtimers" that would see only their advantage from a pristine world. You can bet on that. And I myself am against it. - But I don´t think it´d be avoidable.
It´s been done before on "Cho Server". Old Players and new Players mingled and it took about two month for a certain kind of "old" rule or better "way to play" to reestablish itself. Old InGame hostilities were carried seamlessly over to the new Server and Whamm... Now if a new Server would be eintielry seald against intrusion of "oldies" then it´d be a different thing I agree. But hey, can you imagine the cry of outrage from those "oldies" who´d want to go there too, to start anew? *rolleyes*
You can´t aways get what you want. As the Rolling Stones sang so nicely.
But if you think all of us are inclined to lord it over the Newbies, then you´re plain and simple wrong.
Your experience in gaming may have shown you the darker side of the human psyche and made you into quite the cynic you are, but well... there are other folks out there too.
Alright, I hope that clears it up a bit, I´m not one for "discussing for the discussions sake" as you may have noticed. I like my arguments to end some day

Ryzom, we dare to be different. Do you dare to adapt?
Ryzom unlike most other MMOs requires older players who have invested a lot of time and effort to make the clothes / armour equipment you need as you level. No boss drops a uber armour piece or the "best" sword ect, its all player made. Thats where the "old" players get the enjoyment, being able to help and craft for the newer players as they had done to them as they were leveling.
Forum posts can be taken many ways, but i think you will find if you read properly there is none from most people. Constructive posts and opinions are usally welcomed by all.
On the most part i would have to agree with Sam tho.
Perfection is something thats always one step away.
The thing with ryzom is that it is different from any other game, a wipe would not help at all, one thing that you have to remember is that there are so many skill trees in ryzom that even as a new player you will still be able to level with new players and old players who are leveling other skill tree's. This makes it easy for you to level and find groups, have fun but you also have the experiance of an older player there if anything goes wrong, which can happen in ryzom.
As a new player you will find the community of Ryzom very helpful, you will be able to get as little or as much help as you need, there are a large number of players who take time out to help new players take their first steps from Silan onto Atys. But the thing is Ryzom is a game which promotes team play so you will be building friendships with players of all levels as you progress from lvl 1 to 250 in any of the skills.
Atys has so much history in the game that things really cant go back in time, there have been Temple wars, outpost battles for example which add to the lore of the game, if there was a wipe then all of this would be lost and as previously stated before the game went down they did open a new shard for some time, the result was that old players went there and knew the game so well that they where high level in no time at all.
Please dont be put off with joining a game where there are old players who are lvl 250, it isnt like other mmo's where they are in uber gear and not intrested, just give Ryzom a chance and a chance away from the Ruins of Silan (new player area) as there you really have no idea what Ryzom is about.
Why the heck would a wipe alter that perception? It won't change the game mechanics, it'll just wipe Ryzom's history. It won't make everyone at an equal level, if you believe that you haven't rolled and rerolled in MMOs very often... Knowledge trumps all that, see the other thread where it's discussed.
Indeed..a wipe doesn't wipe your memory or your knowledge, all it does is create a small time sink til you get back to where you were prior to the wipe...or before the stoppage of game play.
I don't see any reason at all, to demand a wipe or to wish for one. The old time players will certainly dominate with all the knowledge and prior history they already have no matter if there is a wipe or not.
But ..knowing the little bit I do about this particular community..this is NOT a bad thing, not at all. I was able to play briefly before the servers went down early this year, and I have to say there were still lots of people around ready with advice and help.
I went it alone for awhile because thats how I learn, I learn better by doing things myself. But ..I knew that if I had any problems all I had to do was be active in the main chat channel.
I am waiting to see if they have some free time coming up for people to see Ryzom again...I had made a couple newbie characters...on Arispotle.
Ryzom is first and foremost a role playing game. It is not however a game that asks you to "roleplay". Every Homin is faced with choices and every player decides which path they will travel. Leveling your skills is only a small part of character development. The design of Atys is such that players naturally become part of the world.
There are two major factions (religions), 4 races (governments) and numerous cults, these for the most part represent the allies of Homins. There are also the Kitin, similar to the bugs in starship troopers, who lurk below waiting for the chance to destroy us all, again. The Goo, the Dragon, and outside Homin invasions also represent possible catastrophic threats.
The Homin forces are far from united in their vision for Atys. Socialism, capitalism, environmental extremism, exploitation, technology, magic, eastern religions, western religions, mystery religions, republics, empires, primitive tribes, lost civilizations, and so much more, all a substantive part of the Ryzom design. Players navigate through these forces, many most likely unaware that these symbols are actually there at all. When an active CSR team is thrown in, these symbols come to life, and the world changes a bit.
It is not so much levels that define a players ability to shape the world. It is their ability to navigate the currents of conflict, to choose to become a part of something.
For those who are concerned about joining a game with an established, "mature", community because they don't think a new player can compete with a veteran, your assumption is not very valid. The political currents rise and swell. The armies gathered one week will not be the same a month later. I'd argue the real power in this game is political, cultural, and not something that can be an algorithm.
Can a day one player compete with an established character right off, of course not. With three months experience , things will look very different. Also, keep in mind the population is very small right now. Hopefully, all us old timers will be so outnumbered by new blood that we will have to be very strong swimmers to avoid drowning.
To sum it all up, there are players who have multiple masters who represent 30 seconds of distraction during an OP fight, and there are level 100 players who can shake the realms.

(,,,)=^__^=(,,,)

And be sure guys , oneday we will ask u to help to the newers than you are.
love from Chizeta
Ryzom is BACK!!!

See you all soon.

(,,,)=^__^=(,,,)
I like the beginning of this game/the free to try area. But knowing the game was not finished kept me from subscribing to it.
Finish this game, and I will pay $ to play it. Keep it as is, no $$$.
Game was just beautiful with nice mechanics...again for a few levels that I played/explored. Also very nice people to meet and explore with.
What game is ever truely finished? The world of ryzom was meant to be a growing and developing game over time. As should any good game be. Even games with tons of subscribers like WoW, will always have some flaws, always have something changing. The lore should always change and develop over time to keep the lore nuts interested .
hey Randomt, chill about the wipe ok
Yay Ryzom!
(,,,)=^__^=(,,,)
Holy carp (yes the fish), there's certainly a lot of hostility, generated by the suggestion of having a new shard for players who want a fresh start, from you older players...
Now to address some of the posts, because talking about ryzom beats sitting around staring at the walls waiting for it to come back, and there's just nothing else out there worth playing at the moment.
That part of the game is just a tutorial, to teach you the mechanics and a bit of how the world works, and to give you a bit of gear to kick you off on a good start.
And lastly, for some good posting fun, my good friend SaM:
I must say that I find your apparent hostility towards our attempts at helping you understand our position quite frustrating and your overt attempts of "gallows humor" rather tiresome.

I'm glad to see the game is back! I thought the skills/abilities were genius and the fighting was pretty fun.
I eventually quit due to frustration with the difficulty and it got grindy. I might check it out again though sometime!
(,,,)=^__^=(,,,)
I think not. Because then you would not have bothered us with your endless repetitions of the same useless phrases. But once again: www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/2106295#2106295
Please, be so kind and read it thoroughly.
