The least desirable class to play

abollardiereabollardiere Member UncommonPosts: 121

Darkstarmage brought up an interesting point in a former trend, bringing attention to the classes we would stay away from rather than the ones we most wanted to play.

I guess most people will play more than one character so it's hard to name just one but what are the ones that lay at the bottom of the bag?? Let's find out...

feel free to expand regarding to race in relations to the classes...

Priests get my vote... I have ZERO interest in playing a priest. I hate healer classes and basicly all they do is heal in groups....druids on the other hand can do many tasks but are still a healer class but Id rather play a druid then a priest.

I chose Druid. They just don't appeal to me. image

I put down priest also.  At first priest was my second choice to play but Blizzard has slowly pushed the class towards just healing.

As of right now rogue is what I really want to play.  I have changed my mind so many times, first paladin, the priest, the warlock, then paladin, the warrior, now rogue.  I am pretty sure that I will go rogue, but I wont know till I play one.

It is more likely that I will playing mostly solo, so I want to be a class which is good at anything (or not good at anything??? image)

Priests, however, look like the supporting class - healing is their major purpose, so I really not going to pick that one.

Haha yeah I changed my mind on what class I wanted to play so many times cuz they are all really fun to play. But my final choice is basicly depending on what class my friends choose. Im choosing warrior or paladin cuz we need a tank for instances so that kinda desided what role I was gonna be. I wanted to be a rogue before I played the ST but they dont tank well and having a Priest/Rogue/Rogue/Mage without a tank in instances is suicide

Since I personally don't like playing games on easy mode... I wouldn't want to play a warrior or paladin.

Just don't like tanks...  I like the game to be hard...  like... one hit from a tank and you're dead hard...

Makes it more action packed IMO. :)

If you want a challenge play a warlock.... I found that class to be the most challenging class to play. I mean having to control a pet and not get yourself killed in the process (you only wear cloth armor) and watching your mana consumption. And basicly killing the mob with DOTs is pretty challenging. I liked playing the warlock but I died alot with it and they suck in PvP so I kinda dont wanna be gimp on the PvP server....if I was a PvE only person I would play warlock cuz they are really fun.

Paladin got my vote they were not cool at all. That silly little invulnerability spell was the only thing I liked about em and that was pretty cheap and useless besides running away.

Yeah thats one of the things I hated about paladins... they were kinda boring....not many specials to do during combat it was basicly wack wack wack...heal....invulnerablity....run away if youre in trouble...

Thats why im waiting to see how they change paladins with the revamp/talents before I deside either warrior or paladin.

I've always found the priest or mage class very fun to play... of course they suck in PvP [head to head], but once you get to that high level... you're almost godlike...

I had to go with Priest as well. I tend to play classes that can get up into the mix and deal some damage one way or another. ::::40::

  • DjinDjin Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 3,263
Does the priest even have spells of offence?  Or just all defense, buffs, etc?

I'm only going to focus on one character in WOW, I usually can't make up my mind and start a bunch before I find one I like, But i'm either going to play the Warrior or the Hunter, not sure yet image

As of right now the preists have the strongest DOTs of any class. Which is pain. other than that i really do not think they are much of an offensive player. But regardless they are grea to have in instances.

Yes, Ive got to go priest as well.  I dont say this just because all they do is heal, because I like warriors and they mostly just tank and taunt.  I choose this because their equipment is really pretty limited.  Whereas for a warrior, you can get equipment that will significantly improve you in several areas, Priests can up there mana...but that seems to be just about it.  They dont get a weapon that really has any significance.  They dont wear armor that will significantly reduce damage done.  They just seem less involved, even though they are likely to be constantly in demand for grouping :)

Yeah, I really loved playing the Warlock. I tried quite a few of the classes (Rogue, Mage, Hunter, and Shaman), but I kept coming back to my Warlock. I liked how it played so different from all the other classes like Vakktn said; managing your pet, choosing your DOTs, and trying to keep Mobs of you turned out to be alot of fun to me. unfortunately I made my Warlock on the PvP server and learned that they were kind of useless there (unless in a party) so I mostly stuck away from that. But I do think that they do need a little work but I'm sure Blizzard will pull it off.

least desirable class for me would be all of them except warrior, it is the only useful class,

I never liked magic or stealth, I always considered mages to be pansiesimage

Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit

I grew tired of my Druid. . .due to my assumption after playing it that it's support class nature wont provide me the solo survivability I was hoping for.  Not that I had hoped it to be a front - line warrior, but I didnt think that there was any situation or scenario I could wiggle myself into where I packed a punch. . .but only support.

In short, druid, priest and shaman.

WHAT!!! Priests are THE LEAST desirable class to play!!!!!! Well i'll tell you what. Since this game went into development I've always wated to be a rogue. I read eveything abotu them and how to play with them. Now i'm glad i actually played the stress test because it let me try out another class THE PRIEST. I just rolled a priest just because I wanted to see whatthey are like. AND I LOVE THEM. I'm probably going to be one for open and for retail. I just cant wait to see what they will be like in retail. I just pity those who dont try a priest.....

I should have clarified...druid, priest, shaman are least desirable for PvP, but tolerable I guess for the mundaneness of PvE.

With the Hunter...Why go with skinner and leatherworking skills when you can upgrade to mail at higher levels?

Maybe you've just been shackled with craptastic healers, but any of those three classes, if well played, will increase the lifespan, and effectiveness of the group so much it's not even funny.

As for Priests not being challenging, you clearly never played one past the newb levels, or you just plain sucked at it, and moved on to a different character. I play healer classes, and when your group overpulls, or people get their wires crosses, and 3 different people pull, and all hell's breaking loose, you'll see the challenge of playing a Priest, especially since tanks don't seem to taunt, so you have to keep everyone upright, while managing healing aggro, and awitching from person to person since everyone's attacking a different target, and breaking mez.

Situations like that are what seperate a run of the mill healer from the greats. And it's also why I like playing healers. For every ten fights that you just sit there hitting your heal hotkey once or twice every ten seconds, there's that one crazy battle from hell where you're dancing around, jumping from teammate to teammate, flying by the seat of your pants. You'll never be the 'hero' playing a healer, but I know that I'm the one that kept the parties ass out of the fire, and that's good enough for me.
