BatMUD andIcesus. Whenever I'm stuck on my old laptop, MUDs are my friends. Both are as feature rich as a MUD can be, and between the two I'd say BatMUD is the more in depth, Icesus the more newbie friendly.
Also I believe PoxNora would work, it isn't an MMO though. MagiKnights would be the only other one I can think of off the top of my head this late.

Urban Rivals was a pretty well made browser game, very little animation and a card-based battle system.
Fallen Sword maybe? It's also one of the better made browser games out there.
