Awesome. But is this because their numbers increased, or because 4 other games numbers decreased? It's all in the spin. Good job Avery.
So you have a problem with me saying its gone up or anything that can be seen as positive? nice one mate
why didn't you say anything about this post a couple up from mine, or you just looking to retaliate?

The thing is that AoC's figures get substantially boosted over weekends, unlike other mmorpg's like WoW, Silkroad and Guild Wars which are mostly stable through the week.
Of course both EVE Online and Lotro also get substantial weekend boosts, but their figures are stable and are not trending downward like AoC's (though nose-diving might be more a more appropriate term considering that GW, once lower than AoC, now has twice the gaming hour figures of AoC)
Up from 16 to 13! WTH guys. The game seems to be doing better and better.
It always does this on the weekends after a patch...but if you notice...each time it drops further and climbs less. That means fewer and fewer are playing it each time a patch is made.

well maybe thats the turning point. one can always dream...
The xfire numbers do the same general thing every week they are just trending lower. They go down during the weekdays and pop up on the weekends. Looking at one single day doesn't tell you anything as it very much matters which day you look at, a weekday or weekend.
9% drop from july 26 to aug 02 , Aug 03 should be about 21, 000 plus or minus 500 if the trend holds steady and Aug 04 numbers should be low 17's or high 16's.

I was off by about 800, real number was 20217, about a 10% drop from Sunday the 27th. If that holds true for today that will put todays figures around 16,500. Lets see if I can get in the ballpark this time.

The Monday figures seem to average 6,000 less than the previous Sunday figures over the last month, so maybe your figure of 16,500 is a bit high?
I'm guessing it will be 20,000(Sunday) - 6,000 = 14,000 ... but that may be too pessimistic.

I am still way too optimistic it seems, Monday the 4th was 17,077 but yesterday it dropped down to 16,500. Eh, it's losing about 9 or 10% a week. By early to September it will be way below 10K. War will put a severe smack down on it, too bad I cannot get enthusiastic about WAR.
I played AoC fora short time, and the CS killed it for me. my account kept "freezing", the tech team would send me short emails about how they had fixed it but then a few hours later bam it would freeze again. one time i got a frozen account email only 17mins after the email from tech support saying my account wouldnt freeze anymore randomly. also i was a bit dissapointed, revolutionary new game experience MY ASS, didnt seem to have anything revolutionary about it, it was just like every other game but with really exceptional graphics
Ok, so people who actually use Xfire are leaving the game, but what about the people who don't run Xfire? I don't, because it's a buggy program that lags out your connection, even on broadband. I'm sure many others don't simply because they don't know what it is. People need to evaluate where they get their numbers from and realize it's not the big picture. AoC will, in all likelihood, not fail. Vanguard didn't, and it had a worse launch and gameplay than AoC did and now it's done a turnaround. It's normal for this kind of cycle in the current climate. People expect a 'WoW killer', without taking into account that it's more than likely not going to happen.

So you mean to say there are probably a lot of people that have quit that aren't accounted for because they don't use Xfire? By gods your right, its worse than we thought!
Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence. Woe to thee, the pierce-ed.

I think he means that only people that use XFire are quitting, people thta do not use Xfire love the game and many are two and even three boxing it to get their Funcom fix. You see rumor has it that when using XFire and playing AoC Xfire flashes a subliminal message onto the screen too fast for your eye to see which repeatedly says "AoC sucks AoC sucks AoC sucks " until you quit.
Actually Amazing Avery already explained this. All the xfire people have just gone on summer vacation. Come september after summer they will all be coming back.
Kinda sad they might be topping the sales charts but it looks like they are sliding on keeping subs... It will be interesting to see how th coming weeks shape up as accounts run out. www.xfire.com/games/aoc/Age_of_Conan_Hyborian_Adventures/
I stoped using xfire when AoC was released. Xfire IMO is the one dieing.

FYI.... there are more Xfire users playing WoW each day..... than there are AoC players who DONT use Xfire...lol

I give it 3 more weeks, then EVE will have more hours played per day than AoC does.
but then, given AoC's inept player mods, maybe it will only take one week
Now I imagine this happens normally in any MMO, as you hit the level cap you play a little less .. but this has been a huge drop.
it means that the population isn't growing more, and obviously people are quitting too

they're having tech problems...and why? it's a sign that they have a lack of funding
Through my Necromatic powers I keep bumping up this terrible thread......
