Guys! I'm hopelessly lost in a mountain of mole hills! Them damn moles!
Comments
Would saying nothing make me a fanboi? hehe
Actually ma biggest and maybe only concern is that it "won't feel right"... i have faith that everything thye said will be ingame and work to an extent.. but that when i'll be playing it just wont feel like it should and i wont be able to play the game "solo" and will be "forced" to only play it when someone is online to chat with... kinda like when i play wow... i play for 10-15 minutes but if there's no one on my friends list i get bored... and if there is someone there i chat and don't mind the "grind"
That it will be too much of a game, and not enough of a world.
It is easy to play a game, but most do not immerse you at all. Worlds have a high level of immersion, but sometimes are not good to play. Hitting the key balance is what I am worried about for WAR. Right now for launch it is probably just fine, with two large cities, countless zones and PvE/RvR encounters. What will tell the tale is which direction it goes in the future - will they try to maintain balance, or continue to push in the direction of WAR being a game?
My biggest concern (not to be confused with a "doubt") right now is the game's performance during RvR conflicts -- how the framerate holds up during a city siege, for example. Something I'm looking forward to hearing about when the NDA drops.
My biggest concern is that I'll play it 24/7, my girlfriend leaves me, I lose my job and I start to become a half elf, half dwarven type creature with pointy ears and a massive ginger beard.
very nice responses.

if you feel the need...you may also post some other little issues that you are concerned about...the kind of stuff that would just bug you to no end.

My biggest concern right now is balance. I know they're adding alot of game mechanics so that both sides will stay even pop wise, but they can't regulate skill and I would really hate to be on the losing team for weeks and weeks. There are so many huge guilds going destruction and it is a little worrying for a prospective order player, but I hope things will turn out okay.
Second concern is the PVE side of things. I'm hoping the world is massive, that there's something exciting in each zone besides public and solo quests, and that the landscapes are unique.
Last concern for now is the community. I am really, really hoping that the servers I decide to play aren't filled with powergamers and assholes, and guilds who work alone and ignore their own realm.
Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV
On a serious note .... population balancing worrys me.
I'm concerned about clothes for those of us who like to RP. I don't want to be wearing my battle armor while I'm in the tavern having a drink.
Just a little thing that's been nagging in the back of my head. I'm not worried about too much else.

I'm worried that it will feel like just another fantasy MMO. It sounds like they're putting in the dark humor that Warhammer is known for, if they do a good job with that then I have nothing to worry about.
On a side not, in response to the poster that mentioned clothes for rp purposes. The Warhammer universe is so violent and dangerous that no one would feel comfortable taking off their armor when they go into a tavern, so keeping the armor on would actually be more in character for this game.
MMO's Played:
Current- none
Waiting For- WAR, ChampO
Beta- Auto Assault, Mythos, Tabula Rasa
Trial- EQ, EnB, AC 2, SWG, UO, AO, EVE
Full Version- CoX, WoW, Vanguard, EQ2, GW, DDO, LotRO, Dungeon Runners, Hellgate
Biggest concern is mindless zerg chaotic battles where nobody knows what is going on and people just kill and get killed with no end.
Since we have given up at having a living world, water content and a meaningful crafting, at least I hope we'll have a great game, as M. Jacobs always says.
If Mythic is truly balancing around PvP before PvE, I think balance won't be as harsh as some other games. However, population balance is a concern not because of their methods, but how people react to their methods. I know alot of people will hate a sever cap, even if it's a soft one, but it's a necessary evil in my eyes. Hopefully people will learn to live with it, or Mythic devises something better...but I don't think there is any better way.
Even though I connect animations with graphics and keep telling myself they'll be polished before launch, I remember that DAoC's animations were a little choppy...especially when a mob was running towards you and you had a DoT, like the Heretic's spell. They would float across the ground for a few seconds whenever you did damage, and it looked pretty goofy. I like the character models in DAoC but I hope Mythic has good animations waiting for us in the final product. Note here that I'm not talking about speed. Rather, I'm talking about fluidity.
Besides those two concerns I'm looking forward to WAR and I think it'll be a fun game.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"
Order of the White Border.
Biggest concerns are:
1. No raiding or PvE endgame. PvP is fine for many people but a lot of people do not want a 100% PvP but rather want and need PvE goals.
2. Possible simplistic button mashing fast combat with not enough thought or options during combat like EQ2. Hopefully they will have enough abilities and refreshers, and tactical choices to make combat more skilled and require more thought.
3. Zerg endgame PvP rather than emphasis on 1-2 group battles.
4. Lack of emphasis on gear.
5. XP in PvE being to fast where one can reach max PvE levekl in 3-5 days played like other super fast leveling games like Vanguard and WoW. Or even worse the easiest PvE game of them all AoC where people can reach max level in 1 day played.
6. Lack of PvE challenge. Almost all new games simply are to easy where mobs are greatly underpowered compared to the power of players. Vanguard and AoC are p[articulrily bad where mobs are way to easy and require little thought or use of class abilities. One of the problems here besides player gear being to powerful is that mobs are often balanced for solo players making them of no challenge for groups.
7. lack of PvE group dungeons leveling up.
Now these concerns are just concerns and not a game killer or taking a shot at the game. I am usually pessimistic about new games but not about War. While I am in beta and I cannot breal the NDA I can say just form what is publicly know I believe War will be very good even if the games design is somewhat lacking for what I am looking for.
if performance is your main concern ... i think you will be happy when the NDA is lifted
this has been a problem ever since i got my beta invite .
wish i could comment on this ... wait for NDA to drop and i will have plenty to say on this topic !
Heh look forward to the NDA dropping TR because my biggest concern is the balance as well. Already my lady intends on being Destruction with her friends and I'm like...I don't think I can. I hate being on the popular side. It was annoying as hell in WoW on my first server where Alliance outnumbered Horde almost 4 to 1. I'm not doing that again. So hopefully if they have a good solution to the balance I can run with my girl....otherwise I'm going to be aiming to kill from the opposing side heh.
Feel of combat, fluidity of combat, flow of combat, population balance, queues, nerfbat, GOA.. Off the top of my head.
These are the major concerns of mine.... thanks for hitting the nail on the head so I can just elaborate on my opinions instead of typing those up :P.
The BIGGEST issue for me is the lack of PvE group content while leveling up... every MMO nowadays is a solo-fest all the way to the "endgame", and in most games you're actually penalized by much slower leveling and much worse equipment by grouping. This is NOT what a massively MULTIPLAYER game should be... I guess I'm one of a dying breed though.
I also hope that the huge battles will not turn into a zerg fest, where it's just a random killfest with no strategy involved. I think the smaller groups, such as 5v5 or even 10v10 allow for much more strategy, much tighter-knit gameplay, and an overall more balanced experience. This is not to say that epic sieges are not welcomed.. they definately are! I just hope the balance and strategy remains intact.
Either way, I'm hopeful for this game... but not too hopeful. I was an early adopter on both Vanguard and Age of Conan, so I have become extremely jaded towards new MMOs. This is actually one of the few posts I've made on this forum because I've been trying to stay away from it... lol.
Also, just an FYI... people on both the Vanguard and, more recently, the Age of Conan forums were also saying "just wait until the NDA is lifted so I can tell you how great it is!" In other words... fanboys will be fanboys, haters will be haters... let's hope for neutral and honest opinions of this game when people are finally allowed to speak!
1. Preformance in large battles. NDA lift will let us know about this though.
2. Animations. Not graphics but animations. Most video's seem chopy/jerky.
3. Community. One of the big things that ruins WoW is its community. I know every game has its idiots, but hopefully we wont see competitions on who can be the biggest asshat.
Nothing gamebreaking for me, just a few concerns I have about every MMO when it gets closer to release.
First and foremost, I am a long time viewer, and this is my FIRST post, so take it easy. Secondly, this is a response to Zippy, and I'm going to answer this in the most unbiased way possible. Also note, I'm picking and choosing which things to respond to, since they may have been already addressed in other posts.
"No raiding or PvE endgame. PvP is fine for many people but a lot of people do not want a 100% PvP but rather want and need PvE goals"
I'd like to mention that WAR is a PvP game first, and a PvE game second. In all honesty, it might not have the kind of "raiding" that you might be mentioning. Remember the days of Molten Core? That's not gonna happen with WAR. It WILL have high (or cap) level dungeons and lairs for you to explore and conquer, bit its not going to require you and 39 of your buddies (or 24 of them) to go and get them done. The biggest PvE group, for a dungeon so far, has been capped at 6 party members, including yourself. If you really want that kind of experience, follow Richard Kaplan.
Zerg endgame PvP rather than emphasis on 1-2 group battles.
Hardly the case. The Endgame PvP (If you can call it that) revolves around the sacking of a Capital city. This..cannot be zerged. Running in and trying to zerg might just get us all killed. There will be more then enemy players in those cities, and who knows what kind of NPC's and other types of siege-weaponry will be waiting for us. Secondly, if anyone knows how WAR works, TACTICS make a huge difference. You cannot run through enemies, and Line Of Sight, is extremely important. Mindlessly running it might get you a couple kills, but no long term victory.
Lack of emphasis on gear.
From what I can gather, the emphasis on gear isn't as huge as the emphasis of "Holy crap, war is everywhere". And from what I've heard from interviews and other sources, they're trying really hard to not let this game be run by gear. Players are what run this game, and they're keeping the emphasis off of gear to try and re-affirm that. If you are afraid of not looking cool, that won't be an issue. If you're looking to mindlessly grind your butt off trying to get "Phat Lewtz", this isn't your game.
XP in PvE being to fast where one can reach max PvE kevekl in 5 days like other super fast games like Vanguard and WoW. Or even worse the easiest PvE game of them all AoC.
Alright, first, let me say that..it really depends on the style of which one plays. Obviously, a more hard-core gamer might level faster than a casual gamer, but that's how they play. Secondly, no one likes having a second job. (DDO anyone?) Yes, they may be gearing it towards being a little more friendly to the casual player (which is a smart marketing move), it still, and will always depend on the person playing.
Population balance is definitely a problem, (2-1) often. Too bad it isn't 3 realms like daoc. Even when there was a population imbalance, you still had 2 other sides to contend with.
They have already stated in one of their videos there will be 3 different balacing mechanics they will utilise to control population.
I know there will be balancing mechanics, but I just hate the fact that such things need to be implemented. having to wait in a queue, or not allowed on a server perhaps, and not really sure what they are, its just a bit confining I guess.
Thats the major problem with a RvR game with only 2 realms, which is why I was extremely disappointed when I first heard it was only 2.
population might be a small concern if they don't take into account how many hardcore vs. casual players are online. Of course in the long run it really won't be a huge issue since everyone will have a rank 40 player. I figure if endgame population becomes an issue they may go the same route they did with DaoC and either give a free lvl every X amount of days or maybe give an exp boost to the realm that is falling behind lvl wise to even up the play field.
I'm pretty sure mythic has thought about alot of the issues players are wondering about. I'm also positive the beta testers have brought this up alot.
Actually, In some recent interviews, it has been said by the WAR Devs that there will be end-game pve content, as to not alienate those players who prefer it. They also have said that there will be some 24-man dungeons.
Anyways, back on topic. My Concerns:
1. Community: I'm hoping the whole Realm togetherness aspect of the game will inspire camaraderie, however I can't very well expect this from everybody. Case in point: WOW.
2. I'm a little worried about Guilds, mainly cuz I wanna make one of my own, but at the same time I dont wanna get stuck in the shadow of the big huge guilds.
1. Almost as semi-boring item stats as in WoW. I want interesting item stats, with pherhaps special powers on very best. Diablo II style.
