I think somebody touched on this example before, but this is the type of thing that worries me
Guild: Divinity
Realm: Order
Member Count: Over 230 strong!
Recruitment: Recruitment Open!
Website: www.divinityguild.org
Description: Divinity guild has been in many games, but this one specifically is named after the original divinity created on DAoC mordred after Retribution broke up. Divinity will be fighting on the side of ORDER, and will be heavily active in everything RvR and PvP related. We will set up weekly PvE Raids, RvR Raids, and PvP practice sessions in smaller groups. Divinity is looking for mature, well-versed MMOers that love online gaming, and more specifically the art of pkilling. If you are a team player, and want to join a solid group of people that are going to be living Warhammer Online for the next few years, stop by our guild and post an application!"
Now i'm all for order....
but if there are legions of them doing Organized RvR from day one the other side on that server is not gonna have a chance.

It shouldnt be just the guild controling the server, it should be the Realm.

yea i know but think about 230 dwarfs running at your brand new 25 man guild xD
We get about 9+ recruits a day.
And im pretty sure when everyone on the server see there city is being attacked in big letters on their screen everyone will start running to defend it. So the guild might be organized, but its not like they are just going to sit there and attack an area while only a few people come out to defend it.
hey lork, i really would consider joining but i would really like to RP a bit...
big guilds = crap
ill tell u y, most of them dont play second u dont know half the ppl ur playing with. its like having that may ppl for the sake of having that many ppl. pointless.
id rather a small guild of 6 any day. at least i know them all well. thats what i plan on having. a guild of just 6
we will be at launch a guild of about 40...but we already have some alliances brewing...so this is where our power is going to come from
Thats how it should be, small guilds and alliance, so you dont have the big mess of a big guild.

You can always Rp, we had a lot of people actually vote for RP so im sure they will love to. Swing by and stay awhile!- Cain, diablo.
yup..our guild is consisted of tight close knit friends who have played together since swg.....and we like our little family and acknowledge we will NEVER be an uber size guild...but...we are a great and whacky crew..and make friends VERY easily...which is why alliances are the best choice for us
edited to include never :P
yea ill prolly just wait to find a good small guild which takes it easy and rps on and off
OOO someone recruit me!
*waives hands*
if i didn't like fire so much i'd go Destruction
hm... order.. or chaos... order or chaos.. drat, still cant decide
felt i should reply to change the fact we will never be an uber big or dominate guild lol...wording was waaaay off lol
Special Ops teams are small, but the most effective fighters in the world.
Huge guilds that sit people in towns to send out ninja invites to every non-guilded person they see, are usually the laughing stock of the server.
Gamer Plus+
large guilds will never control a sever since you cna only capture one keep per guild......there will be plenty to mop up after they are done...i plan on tanking for a guild of about 12 to 16 people only inviting RL friends though...should be a blast
ORDER and under dogs FTW
I agree that 200+ member guilds just arent that much fun, they usually just invite anyone and like someone else said have almost the whole guild able to invite which ends up with some of them ninja inviting and they become a laughing stock,Also what you end up with is a large bunch of stranger's playing together instead of a group of friends.
Give me a guild of around 40-50 people anytime.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Like all MMOs, when WAR settles down after a few months only 50% of your guild will be online at the same time. That's why a lot of guilds are going for high numbers. They want to protect the keep they claim etc.
My guild is for destruction. We are capped pre-launch at 85, and plan on 100 after launch.

the only big guild im worried about is goonswarm. if they come to WAR, make sure you are not on the same server.
I'm shakin in my proverbial booties!

www.vendettaguild.net is a guild that formed in beta not to long ago has 250+ members and we know eachother lol...because of the unique interview process check it out. You were referred by ZAZA7
P.S. we are order guild
P.S.S. we really have like 400 registered members but Im not sure how many are going to be in at launch so I estimated around 250.
No such thing as luck, just believing in it is what makes it real to you and really...thats all you need.
Im on nobodies' side but my own.
This might have already been gone over
1. Really large guilds focused on dominating the server will likely be eaten away from the inside. Fights and hardships between members and just members finding people they really enjoy playing with and split off to form their own guilds. Also it is a lot of work for the guild master and eventually those guilds can collapse pretty fast.
2. For the ones that make it and find a system that works for them, the ones who are able to reach out and connect with other guilds and players and are able to organize attacks with smaller guilds will be the most dominating force. Even if a guild that has 250 members participating in an attack, I have a feeling that that will peak a lot of attention and in no time a far greater number will be on their way to throw wrenches in the gears of their zerg.
Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.
Those are the guilds that only look for quality players not people ,for the first one anyway.

I think if there's too many large guilds a Realm will end up being at a disadvantage. Thats why there's an alliance feature and why Banners when planted buff anyone from your realm within range. For a realm to have an abundance of varied tactical options via the Banner System it'll need lots of guilds not just a couple of lame power guilds.
Honestly to me any guild over 40 people is just over kill and really impersonal. But to each their own.
Just hearing the words preformed guilds or 'interview' process turns me off to any guild. I suppose its just me..I'm kinda weird like that. I've always expected grace periods where I need to group with a few key members to see how well I work in groups & what my personality is IN Game...but people now a days take things further than I'm willing to commit. How anyone can join a guild of complete strangers is beyond me. If I've never played with a person before I'm not about to jion their guild or let them join mine.
My version of an entrance process is simply to group with a person. People who have ass hat problems show off their colors usually after the first couple of groupings lol.
