Europe open Beta Access?

annyone knows annything about the open Beta for europe? couse i bough that open beta a month ago but its still not online...and i cant find anny date on when they might open it, annyone has some more information?

Only thing I know is they don't give a damn about Europe. That will be another battle, to have decent service and servers. Right now, european website and service is a disaster.
If you have an open beta key the European website for WAR is not allowing use of the keys until the OB date is announced so just lock your ticket somewhere safe.

Actually from what I heard release will be simoultaneous for everyone. It will happen for North America, Europe and Austrailia and maybe a few other parts of the world all around the same time.
The thing is, though the release may be simultaneous everywhere it might still be that the OB in Europe starts a little later than in the US. Kind of depends where and on what their priorities are I assume. I assume the the programming and everything is mostly US based and that the EU open beta will be more focused on just getting the server infrastructure up and running well rather than have anything to do with still stress testing (albeit slightly for the servers naturally) the game itself.
so have i just wasted £££ on something that dont do anything yet ? i just got a pre-order box from hmv in milton keynes

Any dates you see at stores are simply their guesses. There's no set release day yet, but the current plan is to release the game "fall 2008", and even that is subject to change.
As the release date being 18th Sept.(?) the US WAR site suggests for a post 15th August Open Beta registration, so i guess GOA will keep it in the same period (hopefully :P )
Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but did you make sure HMV actually preordered for the game for you or just sold you the pack? Many other people have reported similar experiences, but just for those who weren't aware of the mess HMV have created, here is what happened to me.
I had thought HMV weren't stocking the 'Warhammer CE' because it doesn't show up on their website, but I found out on Thursday that was because 'HMV-Online' is actually a different company. I phoned around several local branches to check stocks & as luck would have my local store had several preorder boxes in stock. I was confused by some of the comments made by the guy on the phone though as he kept going on about me being better off ordering it on Oxford St as they would prbably get more copies. When I said, "Surely a pre-order should guarantee me a copy rather than just making it slightly more likely", he referred me back to the Customer Services.
Even their Customer Service Line is clueless, they got very confused & then put me on hold for ages & ages while thye went away to check. Eventually though they absolutely guaranteed me that if I purchased the 'Ce Preorder Box' their system would automatically generate a pre-order & a till receipt confirming both that I had preordered the CE Edition & that I would receive 9.99 off the final price. They also claimed that all pre-orders were made against the allocated stock levels from the supplier & that the only way I would not receive my copy of the game would be if Mythic reduced their allocation at the last minute.
When I went to my local the store, predictably it didn't go as planned & my till receipt was as below.

No pre-order was generated & the assistants seemed to revert to their stance of not being sure how many copies they would get in stock as they were only a small store. Eventually I got them to place a preorder manually & was promised a call on Friday when the manager was back from Holiday.
I had to call him in the end, but the manager admitted to me that HMV UK hadn't set up any special system to handle the 'Warhammer CE Pre-order Box' at all. When you buy the box, you may as well just be buying a CD because nothing happens after that.
Where on earth all that nonsense I was told by their Customer Service line came from is anyone's guess. Maybe that was the way they had originally intended it to work but the personal responsible for implementing it on their till system couldn't be bothered.
Allegedly, if you get them to manually place an order this is still made against the official allocation & it shouldn't allow you to order if they have already sold out, but they didn't seem sure about that either.
Since everywhere else has sold out though, I am trying to be optimistic.

Does anyone know if Euro players will be 'forced' to play on Euro servers (like WoW, for example).
Or whether theres a choice but euro servers are recommended (like Pirates of the Burning Sea, for example)?

Sorry but you don`t no what you are talking about? MJ has already stated that the US CE holders will get a special Preview Weekend next week before the Open beta starts. Goa did not no anything about this and MJ has stated that its only the US he can confirm.
Their has been uproar on the WAH forums because like altair has sted we in Europe who have the biggest following of WAR and the UK being the home of Warhammer feel like they are second choice to Mythic when really Mythic will have it`s biggest following and cash pool in Europe just like DAOC was big in Europe but small in NA.

Definately forced if you buy the Euro version, it was that way in Daoc as well.
I think you were actually not even *allowed* to just get a US version. You needed a US adress to even register it. Ridiculous GOA deals.

Actually the game goes live sep.18, so expect Open Beta in a few weeks, probably 20. Aug -> 18 sep.
I doubt that you will get over 3 weeks of open beta,also with alot of the team in Germany from the 20th-24th I very much doubt they would start the open beta then,I would expect open beta to begin after the PAX event so around the 1st of the month.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

You try downloading the client using the European code, they are not recognised, you try getting a reply from the Mythic Beta team, all you'll get is cold silence, I can tell you from experience, having beta tested for E.A in the past, if your European and want to get in to the European Beta on the 7th then your screwed, not going to happen, with everything E.A we're ok to take money from, but when it comes to support be that in game of tech, then we are nothing more than second class subscribers and not worth their time of day.
I am losing my interest in this game fast, and am going to be taking my pre-order back as well as cancelling my order for the collectors addition, as to be honest I can't be bothered to play a game when they company just don't give a rats @ss about me as a subscriber and are just interested in my money, I'd rather put it to better use, the support is a joke in UO and it will be the same in WAR.
For all those that will tell me to go and play something else, already am and will there are a lot more games out there, and more coming out that will give me dedicated support, E.A is the worst in the industry, good luck to those that think other wise.
You do realise that after the OB there is a full game to play from September 18th?
10 days of OB but still nothing for Europe, and not likely to be either hmmm yep I'd call that a waste of mine and the Posters money, let face it, we paid £10 for a piece of paper with codes on it that don't work in a jewel case with a DVD insert with the WAR log on it, yep a total waste of money.
Bah. I'll buy the game anyway and so will a million other people. New MMO's are like car insurance - you can look for the cheapest purchase but you still need it.

Huh? I don't get your point, I didn't say I wouldn't play other MMO's I do at the moment and am very likely to play others, I just won't be bothering with this one.
I dunno if any of you guys can help me as EA don't seem to want to answer any of my emails
So far I can guess that were all waiting to register our codes for open beta but were are you guys getting your codes from.
Ive Preorderd from EA store but the details they have given me has no codes or the like on it.
The website states that the premium retailers (which the EA store is one of) will send your codes in an email which I have yet to receive.
Has anyone els had an email containing these codes?
P.S beta access is on the 06/09/08
