Perhaps you should just not view it if you don't like it.  Do you call up news companies to say "Hey... remove that report of that person getting killed... That's going to provoke violence in people =("

All topics do not have to be positive.  There will be topics like these.  The X is that way ------->  if you dislike what you are seeing.

Who gives a fuck if it does good for the game, as long as it does good for the customers who are paying for that game to even exist? And informing customers/players of where the customer service portion of their monthly fees are going is as fine a use for a forum as any other.

A news crew installed camera's and marked parts on their car with a perm marker, then went to a large auto chain known as jiffy lube. The person in charge of helping them out convinced them to get parts and fixes for their car.
After charging them, the mechanic didnt even do anything to the vehicle. The under cover customer did this many times at different locations of the same chain and the same thing happened, charging for new parts that were never installed, none of the services they paid for even occurred.
Now this person who set it all up actually was a news reporter. They in turn approached the mechanics and managers with this crime.
Is the OP doing any different? not at all. The OP is acting as the role of a news reporter, and went under cover to get news to the community. That news being that the GMs are unprofessional and are willing to waste time cybering and goofing off than answer petitions and help the broken game.
The OP did us a favor, dont forget that AoC players are customers paying for a service, the employees are getting paid with some of the customers money for help, and if that help isnt happening because the GMs are abusing their power and goofing around, then that is unacceptable especially when the game in its entirity has failed to deliver on so many fronts.

Oh, damn... all the naysayers have been OWNED by this post.  Very good post, Sir!

As someone already stated, the GM was the one responsible for teleporting them and suggesting the idea of Cybering, the player was simply playing along. Hell, the GM was the only one who went and cybered with the player, the latter of which simply went 'that's kinky'.

Alright, so the player is an idiot for taking screenshots, just like the the clerk is an idiot for installing a camera in his store, just like the policeman is an idiot for taping a chase scene etc.

Not only are they a great source of laughter, they're also proof of the GM's incompetence, unprofessionality and possibly the standard Funcom set for itself. Did I mention they make a nice forum thread?

At this point, I feel like you're trolling.

I find it bit absurd to say that it is the GM that initiated and prolonged the "cyboring". I agree with Umbral that mentioned that the player did seem to manipulate the situation.

However, I would not say I would encourage GameMasters to act quite as ..."friendly" as that.

Both the unprofessional language and the tone, while joining the player's own tone, is too frivolous. As a player would I have disliked that situation. On the other hand, perhaps the GM also did? The player certainly did seem to enjoy the time.

Edit: After re-reading can I agree that the GM did indeed go beyond the player in tone at first.  Note that I never excused either, quite the contrary. To go into such a "guy" casual tone isn't suitable and while I've had quite a few contacts with game masters in various games, have I never been even remotely close to such a tone.

I urge you to look at these  first few lines of the "cybering".

To []: ..with dual wield barbarians though, I mean TWO?!?! That's a bit difficult for me to handle. I'd rather stick with one big sword.

[|GM|]: You like it rough I take it :)

To []: Of Course, I'm a ***ing rock sniffer.

    To []: With daggers.

To []: And I'm specced for second wind =) I can go all night.

[|GM|]: lol wow, I don't think I would ever be the same :)

[|GM|]: um WOw this is turning me on lol.

The GM is the only one interpreting the conversation on a Sexual Context, how can you and some people see that as "the player has started" is beyond me, maybe this is why Sexual Harassment claims at the workplace have become such a big thing, someone says "sexual harrassment!" and everyone disregards all the evidence under their nose just to burn the person being accused on a stick.

Lets talk about handling the truth , What is the truth ? The truth is the GM was canned , those customers have already been served and got their moneys worth from it .Maybe it's the folks with an axe to grind who are completely ignoring the truth of this matter .The poster you were quoting was spot on , Nothing positive can come from further aggravation of this subject .

I just went over the start of the transcript again and I will grant you what the player is saying could be construed as "sexual" but it is in no way overtly so.

Still the gm takes it there and is more than happy when the player obliged him, you know as bad as this game has been presented to the public I would have done the same thing the player did I would have played along and sure enough I would have reported this to outside sources as exactly what it is, further proof that this company is mismanaged in the worse way.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

My opinion of this subject is this- You can't really blame funcom management for this guy's actions . They also canned him which shows management knew the severity of his actions. There is no question the GM was wrong no matter what the player might have done, His actions were inexcusable. Many of Funcoms actions have been just as unprofessional , but their handling of this situation wasn't one of them.

You honestly think this type of behavior is coming from one of this games gms by chance?  Here's something I have learned from having countless jobs in lot's of different fields if your management is clueless, crass, unethical, unprofessional etc. it usually trickles down.

I don't blame them for his actions just the environment they've created that this gm thought he could get away with it and why not from what I hear they've got some moderators straight out of Hyboria.

Of course they fired him this has actually appeared in a newspaper already at that point they could not do anything else even if they wanted to so I don't see where they get brownie points for this.

And for me their handling of this situation is a moot point since I sincerely believe that with better management at the top of this company it would not have happened to begin with.

I've had many Jobs as well , i used to work as a contract Market researcher , We dealt directly with customers at all times ..Many cases like this came up while I had that job , Most not as severe . But similar none the less , A close friend of mine was the supervisor of my department . So we talked a lot jokingly about those incidents . The suits never found it funny , they usually served my friend a nice shite sandwich actually.

Usually it was the younger employees caught doing such things , Which I'd bet the GM was young or simply sick in the head. I've rarely seen this kind of behavior from a mature dedicated employee , No matter how lax the working environment was.

I honestly have no reason to say they condone his actions in fact I'm not saying it at all I'm just saying in a manner of speaking maybe the apple isn't falling far from the tree maybe he was young or sick in the head but this is not some smooth running mmo we are talking about it is the biggest launch day dissapointment since Vanguard for me as I said it reinforces this game is horribly mismanaged and that blame falls squarley on the heads at the top

I don't disagree necassairly , They are repsonisble for their employees actions . That's why suits get pissed just about anywhere over issues like this. It's damaging to the companies integrity, which reflects on those running it . Causing customers to feel as you do.Which in this case is worse than normal given their integrity before this incident.
