i play lineage 2.... why does everyone bash it?

hey,
i currently play lineage 2 and i love it. its the first oline rpg (mmorpg) ive ever played. its also the only one. im planning on getting World of Warcraft when it comes out. i also hear that Drak Age of Camelot is good as well. ide just like to know why you dont like it and why it makes it different tahn other games. i hear that theres no pk penaty in everquest... i thinks that kinda dumb. even though that s part of the game i think that you should be able to know if its some one that does that stuff.

I also play L2. And I like it. They have fixed alot of the quests, it's still a grind along, and your not really gonna get a good clan till around level 35 +. Althought that has been changing recently. Of course, chron 1 just hit and that has added some nice content, but I am anxious to see what chron 2 brings.
CS is still very lacking. One very good thing happened yesterday, and they banned the Adena farmer company form ther server other wise known as Dragon clan. So that will free up alot of grinding areas that were near impossible to use do to farming clans PK/KSing younger (newer) players. Soo, I am holding my breath for Chron 2 to see if the content is worth sticking around for 10 more chronicles
But all in al lit has been fun, I finally have all my chars to a point where I can just kinda kick back and do some quests, check things out, so for me at least, it's getting better. Still sorely diappointed with the CS but thats a different thread.
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

I'll admit I've bashed
the game, I tested it when it was in Open Beta for a while and past level 10 it was just getting really boring leveling... Although I could say the same thing for DAOC and EQ as well... Not very many games (MMORPGs) don't have the ridiculous grind... In fact I was really thinking about buying Lineage 2 until WoW came out... I'm that bored...
Comparing the grind... Is it worse than Final Fantasy XI? <cringe>

They bash it because it sucks:) It's got open ended gankage-pvp, it's INFESTED with Koreans, the GMs don't speak english, the CS reps don't either. The CS reps always take the side of the asians, never do anything about botters or farmers, and the koreans are the most foul mouthed sexist race you'll ever meet.
The game is One Huge Grind to get to the sort-of-ok castle seiges(Read:Mass Zerg events).
You get the updates to the game 1-2 y!ears after the asians have them. Your opinions and desires don't matter at all to the asian devs(They only listen to their own kind). You are always a patch behind bug and exploit fixes...Which means people read about it on the korean servers then exploit them on the US servers.
Everyone looks the same, women get to wear lingrini instead of armor, crafting in the game is teh suq...

Besides what previous poster said which could be somewhat true on much of what he said.
I didnt like lineage 2 mainly tho because the DE models ran laying down .. LOL .. I HATED that look thought that was the most ridiculous movement i have ever seen on an avatar .. could never deal with looking like i was raming someone with my head constant.. when id move >> lol .. sucked in that way I couldnt get past that logged out after 1 day. that was in beta
If you were built like the dark elves in Lineage 2, you'd walk around all bent over too.
To the original poster: it's easy to love your first online game - you won't notice the game's flaws until you see them fixed in other games. The problems I put up with for 4 years in Ultima Online caused me to drop Star Wars Galaxies in 6 months. If you're having fun playing Lineage 2, then keep playing it. But, I'm warning you, playing other games may ruin you for your first.
Personally I think that everyone who says it sucks needs to shutup. Everyone has their own relative opinion of MMORPG's. Personally I didn't like it. I didn't like EQ, DAoC, AO, and a few others. But I don't go to every EQ thread and go, "Wy does ur gam sux. Cuz it duz! PWNT!"

first ide like to say how wonderful this forum is. i tried so many other ones and typed this into my web browser on mistake. (trying to go to www.mmorpgdot.com). Second i hate star wars... im not sure why but i always have. i just cant stand how cheesy it is IMO. no effense to anyoe because i know some people love it. third graphics isnt a big thing to me. lol i was such an idiot when my friend was telling me about this game while we was camping i thought it was a 2D game. then i looked it up on google whenj we got back and was like "WHOA!". 4th, the open beta for World of Warcraft is already over *sigh* To bad i wasnt into those kinda games then. I was playin halo and unreal tournament 2004 then

2. There's no koreans in it, not taiwanese, not japanese, but CHINESE people.
3. Some GMs speak good english (I know that some are horrible and don't even understand what your saying)
4. They ARE doing something about botters and farmers.

You also probably have never seen all of the bot programs, hack programs, exploit guides, and general adena sales on Ebay.
Also you wouldnt be familiar with ever hearing any sort of official announcement from the L2 development team, because there isnt one for the North American customer base.
You would never see any patch or hotfix for a serious problem, unless by chance it came out in a new chronicle update every 6 months.
You would not experience legible customer service, because they dont speak English, and cant think logically or like Americans. So they dont understand you, and you wont understand them either.
You cannot read the forums because the time you refresh your post is 10 pages back.
And nevermind actually playing the game and getting exploited by super speed cheats and characters who are maxxed out by running bot programs while they sleep.

#7. Chronicles are out for US? lol About time... they only refixed the power of the archers AFTER that expansion... So if you wanted to level from 1-60 in a week, just be an elven/archer... Strongest class/race

lol, I wont comment as many people know my stand on Lineage 2.
HOWEVER, what I will say is this:
If the DEVs were to add more custom character content, TRY HARDER at dealing with botters, give the Chinese population a set of servers closer to their country, write a better system of code to make it harder to add every tom, dick, and harry hack into the system, hire more english speaking GMs, and fire 40% of the American DEV team, then I would DEFINETLY try it again.

I don't understand why the Koreans have to come to the American servers and take them over too. I read that people got killed in cyber cafes over there because of this gang.
I also know there's people who get paid to play 24 hours a day... if Jonny B gets up from the chair to take a crap, another person jumps in it.
These people live 10+ to a single house... again, known facts... you can do a google and find this information... It's a crazy game.

1. Level 4 people, they were taking advantage (exploting actually) of the LUCK skill. Just get past the noob stage and your fine. I am pretty sure they fixed it by now, if they haven't well...

Chronicle 1 came out during June, and Chronicle 2 is scheduled somewhere near the end of the year I think.
I have nothing against anyone, I am just trying to defend a game that is constantly being bashed at. And yes, I do hate it a bit, but I don't go on bashing it because I dislike some parts of the game.
