One thing I could say from my years of reading forums like mmorpg and others, that I got very good at reading between the lines.
I follow small hints from closed beta testers and just get a good over all feel from topics. It's like driving a car and avoiding accidents, you get good at it and can't put it into words.
I had my predictions before Vanguard, LOTRO, and AoC and I was right in each case, However Tabula Rasa tricked me a little. But I could understand why, as it was a very good game, but low content after so many levels.
Warhammer has very few beta leaks and the few I see are positive.
I think the reason for my success in predications, is that I understand marketing. It's good for features but not fun and playability, This has to come from an outside source. For the life of me I can't understand how people get fooled with games such as AoC pre-release, ALL outside source's say the game was gonna be Bad.
Warhammer will have a positive start like LOTRO.

It absolutely does seem that "Doom&GloomTM" is strangelly absent.
And as they say "Where there is smoke there is fire" ... and i am not seenig no smoke
I see you felt confident enough that you felt you *had* to proclaim this even though it's shortly before the NDA drop
Nah, this game is going to suck. It looks like WoW. It's UI is taken from WoW. Hell, all there idea's are WoW idea's even RvR. Ask any idiot!
Heh. Like someone else said in another thread. Unless you dont have the internet, or dont know how to use google NDA's mean nothing really. A little bit of searching and you can find allllll you want about WAR. Well, except for playing it of course. But the information is there, you just gotta look for it.
And yes, WAR is going to be a great game.
up guess WAR is a clean burning postive fire.....
we will see more once NDA drops and everyone get the torrent and the Open beta offically starts but so far WAR has been postive...and when some one is wrong on these fourms all of us are right here waiting to correct him/her
i can't wait till i get to play and when i am not playing i will be on here posting my thoughts
i see a great launch for WAR and while not close to WoW i hope it gets around a million subs and keep around that number any higher...great: for RvR is it the More the marrier....if less ohh well as long as there is one sever with enough players on it to have RvR still work i can play.......and this is WHY DAoC still has players.....those few it has are pretty die hard

Except the untested bits like the endgame RvR lol, or did they get to Karl franz yet without crashing the server?
i will say it right now even before the NDA is dropped. the game is good ! it's not problem free nor is it perfect but it is mostly bug free and most important ... FUN !
i have some issues with the game but over all , this is one of the best MMO's i have played in a long time .
Here inlays the problem:
Mark Jacobs (Top Dog Mythic) talks about the NDA lift :
"As to NDAs, the rule I've always gone by is my "time before release rule" in order to judge the confidence the publishers have in their new game (doesn't apply to ports or games that are already out in other places). I add a +1 for every week prior to release that the game's NDA has been lifted and come up with a score. If <4, there's a lack of confidence in the product, if you are >8, they really believe in the game. WoW had a great score (the highest I believe) and some of the MMOs that failed, had, as expected, low scores. A score of 4 is just about the minimum you should expect from a MMO publisher."
Quoted from: http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showpost.php?p=701390&postcount=54
So right now, they are sitting on a 4 point score using the developers MMO rating system based on the NDA lift, which defined by him is the minimum score on the confidence level. I am looking forward to this game, but I'm a little disturbed after discovering this post. Is Mythic having doubts about their game? Or is there a exterior force pressuring them to push the game early?
???
If the game walks like that Paul guy talks, there wouldn't be any problems.
Awesome this and awsome that....
But this is clearly a slip of the tongue, so they are not confident at all or are they waiting for confidence
???
Thankfully, unlike most companies that keep its customers in the dark, Mark Jacobs has been forthcoming with information -- mostly that the NDA would've been lifted last week except they wanted to roll a new patch out to the beta testers first.
Their openness with the community has helped to keep the pre-release anxiety as low as it can get... although on internet message boards that's a losing battle.
have to agree so far so good.
nothing bad came out yet hope it proves to be good cause we need a good one.
Sadly, in view of what we got these last 2 years, that last sentence doesn't say much.
The "some minor issues" could be anything to a fanboy allowed access.
I remember AoC, hailed as the MMO that would completely revamp the whole MMORPG scene.
And this came from a professional games magazine.5 days before launch.
First hand play is always the best evaluation.

i totally understand that , if i wasn't in the beta then i would be skeptical also . i got burned by Funcom too !
im not going to try and convince you what i said is true or not . if you want to believe me , fine . if not , that's cool too . im just giving my opinion of the game .
WoW is already trying to take some of their features, why risk it and have them copy everything?
Warhammer will be heavily instanced and therefore not a good MMOG.
If Mythic had all these doubts why would they have released all this content in podcasts and such. Why would they let people beta test for a year? They have no doubts about their game because they actually speak to the gamers. In beta if you fill out a report after you do something they will read it and if something is wrong they will correct it. Overall i think thats whats going to make this game great is that mythic is listing to what we want.
Fact: There will be some LOADing screens therefore it is not seemless
Truth: That does not = heavily instanced
I've noticed somethings that have sent some red flags. I think the mid-late game is going to be pretty lack luster. Also, there seems to be some organizational troubles with mythic that forshadows a likelyhood that the support, for people who do have issues with the game, will be crappy.
This will be a good mmo. Unfortunately you'll have the dumbasses out there who will play it for couple hours and the go on these forums and criticisze it without playing it fully.
Such is the life of trolls.
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR.
Playing EVE Online and AOC.
Wtg for SW:TOR and WOD
Once the game comes out...I'm not going to be on any forums at all. Forums ruin the game for me...and I'm not going to let that happen to WAR.

Guys! I'm hopelessly lost in a mountain of mole hills! Them damn moles!
Every post I have ever seen you make is about instancing and how it is the devil. Find a new drum of doom to beat to death plz!
You have one heavily used and unsubstantiated claim and therefore not a good argument.

First off to this guy, no
any way I have felt the same way as the OP about most of the games hes listed, LOTRO I really didn't care about becuase it didn't seem like anything new just another PvE game and it looks like thats what it is.
But war compared to everything else has always been diffrent and in the last 6-9 months it has been clear as day that the game is going to be good, There is nothing that shows it might be a disaster. While things like AOC I remeber my first time seeing that game and I just thought wow thats going to fail they just kept saying features and gimiks and never showed real substance.

True
But we players have lost the "instancing" battle. Kiss goodbye to virtual worlds , vast landscapes, sandbox, complex roleplaying games.
The hope we are going to see such in next 4 years is gone.
Say hello to casual persistant multiplayer games.
Now knowing this , lets ask ourselves
Will WAR be a good game ?
I think yes.
It shows promise of great gameplay , that is fun no mater how much time you invest in it.
And it seems that confrontational nature of a game will grant much greater replayability than other titles.
I see WAR as TeamFortress2 of MMO world.
Expertly crafted, fine tuned competitive game

You just hit the nail in the head.
About the instances, I think WAR will have a perfect balance of instanced zones and open zones.
Unlike WoW when ALL the pvp content is instanced non evolutionary reguarding the environment, the instances senarios of WAR are on smaller scales and WILL affect the environment.
Plus in a podcast they said that they plan on focusing more on open zone pvp than instanced senarios. They also said that senarios in instanced zone were implanted in order to be more casual friendly.
And about the contested city instance limited to 72 vs 72, note that if you have 1000 vs 1000 in one zone... the server WILL crash... plus those instances will have a direct effect on whether you take control the city or not.
And to anwers all other troll: This game is not meant to everyone. If you love grinding mobs for months then go play wow or ff11 or something... if you dont like certain aspects of the game, dont play it. I love most apects of WAR and will be playing it.
