If the newest video does not show well. The newest video coming up has to show new content and a almost complete game in order to keep me here anymore. I simply can not see this game making it if they can't even make a decent video showing the game near finished. Forget being a fan and all that can go out of the window using simple logic.

I may let this one go if it does not show well. FFS they said release end this year.

I’m surprise at the significance people are putting on this video.

I get how people can still be interested in this game. They’re doing something in Greece, I doubt they are sitting around playing checkers.

I also get how people don’t believe this game will come out or that it won’t be the game advertised. People following this game have been given the run around a few times and Aventurine has made some pretty unbelievable claims.

What I don’t understand is why people don’t see this upcoming video as the same old thing. Maybe it will be late (if it’s not considered late already) or maybe it won’t. When it comes out, some people are going to be impressed and some people wont.

Why did people decide this is going to be the straw that breaks the camels back? Seems like an odd breaking point to me. What am I missing?

I'll hang around... I may not PAY for it until it seems like it will release well, but I will stick around...

i'll stick around for the drama

but - with the overzealous mod editing that has been going on lately the darkfall forums are bound to get quite dull i'm afraid

Well, if it's the same 'ol same 'ol, I will lose more confindence (what little confidence I have left) in the game comming out like anything similiar to what they've stated it would be.  If they still refuse to show many of the features that they state are in the game, it will just put forth more evidence that this game is not nearly as complete as they state it is.  I've learned, concerning anything Darkfall developers say, to lower my expectations.  I will wait until after the release, great video or not, to even think about purchasing. Small, independant studios promising revolutionary mmos have yet to deliver on their promise.

I'm fine with them taking as long as they need to finish this, even if it's another four or five years. I've had my fill of rushed out the door games, and we have yet another one coming out in September. These people never learn.

Are you seriously questioning the idea that this game is like a rushed out of the door game? Seriously 7years or more of development, can you honestly say that is rushing it?

This company deserves what they get for releasing promises and stupid info detailing things that they have yet to prove. If Tasos says on the main forums of a video that will be launched in August showing almost everything good the game will have then you better believe we will hold them to that.

Again I will not follow or care for this if they can't prove they have a game this close to LAUNCH, Period!

Snap agree 100%, the game will come out when it does no biggie. People who demand and expect when they have no control is mildly amusing. I wonder sometimes about peoples priorities.

You don't care if they take 11-12 years to come out with a game? That's just insane if you ask me. You know how much technology changes in 12 years? Ultima is over 10 years old, it would never make it if it just came out looking like it did originally. People might hate that games come out early  but look how FAR games came from launch to after a few years. EQ2, Vanguard, AO, EQ, EVE... all those games grew and grew over the years WHILE people enjoyed them and got better and better. If you're working on the same game with the same engine for 10 years with the same beta testers, the game will have almost the same amount of bugs and problems because its the millions of different players and systems used that cause all the problems.

Not to mention, how do you expect the company to make money? MMOs cost around 50 million to make in a few year production cycle. After 10-12 years, they are having to pay 120million or so. Then with their outdated engine and old style gameplay, they pull in what? 200k subs at BEST. So they made 10mil on copies, half of that goes to their developer I imagine, so 5mil. They would drown in the water and be labeled the worst gaming company ever to walk the earth. Use some business sense and logic! (Take note my numbers are generalized and not perfectly accurately, just used to prove a point.)

The point was that the previous poster said he didn't mind if it took another 5 or 6 years. That's 11 or 12 in total. Actually it's 13 years since 2001. That's just ridiculous. How can a game started in 2001 be relevant in 2014?

Also, I worry FE looks a bit dated from the screens I've seen. Although, I have much more hope for it than DF. FE looks set to come out next year at the latest. The developers are forthcoming with info too. Finding info for DF involves Private Detective techniques. It is quie entertaining watching though. I do have to thank DF for that.

Fallen Earth isn't out and therefore hasn't proven it's worth even mentioning. It's on virtually no ones radar and more or less in the same boat as DF. If you cannot see my point then that's really sad.

I will forget about Darkfall if it fails to produce  a video with ingame gameplay.  They could atleast show us what the game is like so far.

Yes, FE's strategy is, we have a game worth putting to the public, give them the game and see what we need to do to make it releasable. DF's strategy seems to be to treat their idiotically faithful fans with disdain, make them search around the internet, learning Greek for a possible snippet of info, and don't let them see the game at all costs! Why, I'm not sure.

I put no stock in video footage, so it was always just going to be a curiosity for me...sort of like a train wreck.

I'll believe in DF when its released, and not before.
