Is that it? What a disappointment.

  • maxwellsmaxwells Member Posts: 7

I ,too, think it lacks some fights/spells actions in it.

sure it was OK i mean lore-wise and for anyone who is a fan of Arthas....but it needs to show more of the battle between good and evil...

  • demolishIXdemolishIX Member Posts: 632

Fail, tho it would be decent if it was for Warcraft 4 etc.

I actually liked it. It shows that Arthas still remembers the things his father taught him, though he is using it in a twisted way. Also emphasizes that blizz wants people to know that the xpack is all about the Lich King and not about the struggle between the Horde and the Alliance.

But i guess people will compare this with WARs intro and say its crap(which they already are on the WoW forums). Nothing wrong with that coz WARs intro (the second one) was epic. Either ways i like em both

Very nice trailer, I'm glad they didn't go with a fighting type of trailer, their previous 2 trailers already have plenty of fighting and it seems every other MMO is doing the fighting intro's to death, where they are starting to get old.

Still doesn't make me want to buy the expansion, but I like the visuals and story behind the trailer.

  • KabbaxKabbax Member Posts: 278

Don't think it was made to sell the expansion. It was made for the fans of the Warcraft World.

Have to be a fan just to find the video, if no one links it to a forum non fans visit.

Bad timing. If I saw this before WAR's new trailer I probably would've liked it more .

Sigh.  Now we are comparing trailers.  What's next box art?  What then, advertisements?  And after that?  Bonus materials inside the box like which nVidia coupon is better.  I sure hope WoW win's THAT one.

Yep, I have to agree.  Play what you like and leave everyone else alone.  That wont happen by the way

As a long-term World of Warcraft subscriber, I must say I wasn't impressed with the trailer.  Though beautiful, it isn't representative of the game content.  The expansion sounds like it has a lot of cool features and I will be pre-ordering it, standing in line at midnight, but don't think this trailer adequately highlights the reasons for getting it.  The expansion is not  going to get big "ooh"s and "ahhh"s about gameplay graphics, it's about new talents, abilities, a different kind of PvP experience, and a character's personal integration into the lore.

I didn't think it was a bad trailer. . .it just needed a little more action in it.  Have to give credit to Blizzards CG artists though as they always do a good job.

They deemphasized CGI for WoW from the start, nothing surprizing here. Short and to the point, this is Boss, this you kill period exclamation point

For CGI, I can't wait for SC2 and Diablo3, that's where I'll get my Blizzard CGI fix.

I have to say that i was pretty amazed with both trailers at the end (hell yeah, lets compare then while we're at it hehe). Actual gameplay I have to admit that im not huge fan neither of games, wow is.. well, WoW.. pretty damn alright but that's all about it and Warhammer i dont have any experience.

From my own opinion and in terms of "can deliver" in mind i think Blizzard wins once again. I saw that there is new WoW trailer introduced, went to their site find the link and bam, the immersions from new expansion flows to cuddle my sensus. Stunning visuals, as all of their vids they do, great voice acting, lore and good music.

On the other hand there was Warhammer experience too. Most annoying thing was that when i get the player starting the whole trailer, it was freaking slideshow what i needed to let twitch to end in background first time what took about 15 minutes. Then i got change to relaunch it and after that it worked flawless. The voice actor wasnt very good and convincing at the start,  to be honest. There was some old paintings on the wall kind drawns and those gave me a little static immersion. But when the action starts and focus turns to fighting part, yes, i have to say it was quite entertaining and greatly made in fact. It tells a lot about the races and their relations and stuff which is great.

I dont know how it will be, i guess time will tell. I probably end up to catch up both, the wow expansion and War and have two more games on my hand  and little regret and shame for spending bucks the games because that's not what people should do, right?

First off be sure to download the hi-res version of both trailers http://files.filefront.com/WotLK+Cinematic/;11563667;/fileinfo.html

I think the WAR cinematic is just a little better in terms of content than WoW's.. but WoW's gives a nice story and good emersion where as WAR's is just a bit of fun.

TBH if the Warcraft movie (which i think is still under production) looked as good as this trialer then bring it on.

Hum I feel like Playering WAR3 again =D

is still a good trailer. the aim of the trailer was not supposed to be action packed it was to let you know a bit about arthus. its a good trailer for what they wanted to portray. that arthus is a little bit phsyco

It doesn't make a lot of sense lore-wise either. I thought that they said Arthas and the Lich King merged into a new being altogether. If anything, the Lich King would be the dominant personality.  More over, that Sapphiron was already resurrected to guard the Nerubian entrance tunnels.

Whatever. They lost me with the Kael'Thas bologna.

I think it's more of a duel personality thing. But really, the Lich King (Ner'Zhul) wasn't really as interesting as Arthas, so I think Arthas shines more as the Lich King than Ner'zhul ever could.

But as for the trailer, I liked it. I liked how they went for a different direction.

As for comparing to WAR's, it's like apples and Oranges for me. Anyone who actually has a brain knows that despite Warcraft's and Warhammer's similarities, they are very different in terms of lore.

So, I can't really compare. The only thing I can really say on the subject is that Wow's felt more epic.

It really felt like they were, along with trying to introduce newer people to Arthas, trying to say "This is what you're up against".

But as for saying it's boring?

What, it's not interesting without random violence?

    Groovy.

I totally agree with this. The trailer is a progression of the WC3 Frozen throne one (best cinematic ever done imo) and it continues the Arthas story. It's about what he has become from what his father had taught him. It feels very epic. Big battle cinematics have been done to death.
