Why will you not be playing Warhammer Online

ThomasN7ThomasN7 87.18.7.148Member CommonPosts: 6,690

Just a simple question here as to why you will not be playing the game. Too busy with your current mmo ? Waiting for other games ? Whatever the reason may be just put it here. No bashing the game, keep it clean and have fun!

I will be buying the game.  I will keep playing the game if it has good PVE.  PVP is the primary selling point of the game, but as with all PVP games (mostly FPS) I usually get bored after a few months.  CoD4 for example, was and is a great game.... ,but kill after kill got a little repetitious and I eventually quit and moved onto another game.  All in all I hear WAR will have great PVE and I am hoping for that.  However, if it does not than I will play for a few months and put it down most likely.

I used to be able to come up with a ton of reasons, but now that i've played in beta I can't come up with anything.

Yeah for me I'm not 100% convinced yet this game will have alot of replayability. I know it is new and alot will try it bt I think for me it is best I wait and see how things go after launch before trying it for myself.

Firstly like many mmos the game will not be a finished product when it is released. Yes I know Mythic has announced this to everyone and what they do release may very well be in good working condition but it doesnt change the fact that 4 cities will be missing along with a number of classes. Considering that there were only going to be 4 classes on each side that limits my choice even further. Yes I know that means 24 classes in total which is more than previous games but I like to be creative with what I play as and WAR doesnt offer that level of variety. I'm sure the game will be quite good fun as it is but I would rather wait for 6 months or a year when hopefully the game will be closer to what it was originally meant to be.

Also I am playing EVE at the moment and I just cant see myself going from a game with lots of choice into one that limits what I can be and do and forces me to pick cookie-cutter classes along with everyone else. I still hate the fact that human wizards all have to be fire mages! Isnt that gonna look a bit silly?

Also I'm a bit tired of all these story-driven games to be honest. Its about time that more sandbox-style online games started coming out where the players create the situations rather than us getting told what to do and where to go. I will still probably give WAR a bash at some point though if I get bored with EVE.

It´s not my kind of game. I cant really find anything with it that would appeal to my game style. I´m looking for something more sandbox, low fantasy, with a realistic art style and good character customization. At the moment the only game on my list is Fallen Earth.

In the middle still at the moment.

    - European service is looking as if it will be sub par

    - Same as the poster above me: constant CTDs. Waiting for a miracle patch at the moment

    - The game is decent, but it feels like most of the other MMOs (just with a more fleshed out PvP part), and it just doesn't get me passionate or excited. Again, nothing wrong with the game (content is there, features are there), but coupled with the above 2 reasons, I'm not sure if it will be worth it for me.

I am waiting for OB and Head Start and I will see what that brings, in terms of service and patches for nasty issues. If it isn't better or solved, I won't be picking up my CE that I preordered.

Playing: Final Fantasy Online: ARR, Destiny
Most memorable games for me: UO, GW1, LoTRO

I'm huge Fan of Warhammer 40K but the medieval era... not so much. I played WOW for 6 months and really got bored then my entire guild and I left for other games. Most of us went back to FPS while others back to SWG O_o.....

All in all, I'm waiting AION and Stargate Online. I'm currently hanging out in EVE and i'm quite happy there.

Why would i play warhammer when i can play vanguard , for me though it looks to much like WoW. Plus i was looking at peoples screens and the way they named armor and spells and stuff is like 5 year old dribble and i cant stand shit like that in my games

  • crzybrtndrcrzybrtndr Member Posts: 94

It just doesn't look like anything new to me.  It's the same old, same old in a shiny new package.  Classes, levels, end game is raiding or pvp...no thanks, been there done that.  I'm with the other people waiting for a good sandbox game that doesn't depend on gear or require the players to min/max.  Darkfall's concept is fantastic, now if only someone would actually make it a reality, I'd probably play that.

Sooo many games like Fallout 3, left4dead and spore are coming out that'll keep me busy till into next year and then I'll look into WAR to see how it's doing because atm the game is very buggy and suffers from balance issues and just isn't very fun. So I'll give the game 6 months to see how they've progressed but if the population is low then I wont bother.

Thats pretty much what I thought too

......although I was thinking of rubbing a cheese grater over my face instead. I guess the self-inflicted torture theme is still there though.

Because I will be playing Ryzom until they turn the lights off... again.

That and its focus on PvP isn't something I am to entirely thrilled about.  "It's WAR" yeah I know.  I am tired of fighting against people, I do it all day at work and at home.  I enjoy doing other things than just fighting as well, and enjoy a good mature, adult, and friendly community.  So overall, I will be busy in my current MMO, there's nothing to entice me as a player to come join WAR.

  • NiblixNiblix Member Posts: 160

Won't be buying/playing WAR because Mythic went with GOA to handle the European part of things. After playing (putting up with) Dark Age of Camelot being run into the ground by GOA I will not be giving my money to a bunch of idiots again.

Maybe one day I may just pick up a US copy when I can get it for about £5 including shipping

Be paid for Beta Testing, don't pay to Beta Test.

I'm going to wait a few months to play any new MMO. I've been burned too many times in the past buying new games that turned out to be still in beta. I'm going to let the devs work out the kinks first and read some reviews before I consider trying Warhammer.

  • TurnXTurnX Member UncommonPosts: 138

After the whole AoC debacle I have become increasingly more sceptical of new MMOs. Even with playing beta versions of games I am still going to wait at least a month before I pony up the money, because honestly I just don't wat to get burned again. Add onto that the fact that I recently sold of my desktop for a shiny new laptop, and picked up a Xbox 360, I am just not sure if I will have any time for PC games anymore.

I'm on the boat of people that are waiting a couple of months before considering buying it.  Wait until they get some endgame content in there.

I may skip the game altogether, though, since it just doesn't seem all that unique to me.  The dark age fantasy thing is incredibly overdone, and i'm not sure that I want to dive into another of them unless it's swinging some heavy lumber.

    Playing: Nothing
Played: Champions Online, CoX, STO, PSO, WoW, lots of free-to-play crap
Looking Forward To: DC Universe Online, Blade and Soul

Waiting fore Aion, might pick up WotLK on the way, since i know what i'm dealing with and blizzard games have always been worth every penny with a bonus of 1million.

Not a Warhammer universe fan, however i like Warcraft universe, yeah i know warcraft spawned as from inspiration from Warhammer, but it's just better in my opinion, we all got our own to that.

I'm on the fence on WAR. But like others have said, I'm also waiting on a sandbox. So playing EVE at the moment. I like to have lots of choice.

Anyway with fallout 3, star wars unleashed, fable 2, etc on the horizon I'm not sure I will have time. I might pick it up. It's a polished game for what it is. It's not a bad game. I might try to get it since nothing else much is out

Fantasy saturation has reached critical Level and as much as the game might be promising, I can't bring myself to play another game with elves, orcs, dwarves and humans in it. Too much Fantasy makes me sad puppeh.

But I hope that it will be what everyone is looking for in the game and that you all have fun playing it. I'll have to wait for whatever BioWare is cooking up, or the WH 40k MMO.

  • waterbug69waterbug69 Member CommonPosts: 20

I not overly enthusiastic about the game because it too familiar. I feel there isn't enough innovation, but i prefer to keep my final comments till after i try the trial when ever that comes out. I believe they will have a hard time convincing people to stay in the game and give up their level 70 characters in WoW to start all over.

    Only time will tell.

Not interested in another  theme park MMO game. There are already many of those on the market.

I want a large seamless MMO world which oozes realism from every part of it's design so I can immerse myself in it.
