there are plunty of games on this website that look like shit and they get news updates on the front page when something big happens there.. its been all weekend long and not a word yet.

Yeh and it wasn't even gameplay footage, just footage of their shitty dated engine. I saw no proof of any of that actually being working gameplay mechanics and no interface or anything. I bet most the stuff in that video was just people told to make it look like the mechanics are working.
this game is just Dark and Light 2 and I don't see why these shite games even gain hype because you can tell its going to be bad and yet all the forum fanbois seem to support it because they're all blind or stupid.
before darkfall released a video and a beta application that was what 2005? they probably need to have atleast some evidence.

I've thoroughly reviewed the video 3 times over the past few days... and I stand by my original statement earlier this year:
All that I saw could've been made with a few Artists in Torque.

It's the developers job to get free press from MMORPG.com. not MMORPG.com's job, the only exception being various meets like E3/whatever.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
Maybe because Tasos only deals with unknown sites like gameworld.gr in his own country for press now, because they're so caught up in Greece making a video game that they don't think to actually ask questions, with the answers given scrutinized and verified.
You know what would have happened if Tasos told mmorpg.com that he worked for Microsoft and Turbine and MSNgames, etc., etc.? They would have verified it, whereas gameworld.gr relied on his.....*chuckle*....get ready for it.....integrity and truthfulness.

To answer the OPs question, because Darkfall has not purchased any advertising yet.
If you look at the news section for Darkfall, you will see that no one at MMORPG.com has made an effort to keep us informed on the game since Dana Massey left. Dana didn't wait for Darkfall to send out press releases, he pursued interviews and information about games that the members of this site were interested in.
Well this site is all unpaid volunteers now so what can you expect.

My guess would have been 'reading too many conspircy theories'.
The fact that I've seen DOZENS of Demos done in Torque... the fact that I'm on my 3rd MMORPG team as a paid team member... the fact that, technically, it's true? (the possibility, not the actuality).
What die hard fans seem to misrepresent is that it's perfectly possible there's a game and they built it all and stuff... I'm not denying that fact.
What I'm saying is that it'd be perfectly possible to make that whole video in Torque with a few artists. There was nothing groundbreaking or fantastic about what was shown. They never had many people on the screen that would signify the "200 vs 200" that was previously mentioned... perhaps 32v32, all of which Torque is capable of.
I'm not saying this is what happened, I'm saying this is perfectly possible.

In MMORPG.com's defense...i seem to remember that when DF Devs announced that they planned for a 2008 release date...I think the same day the announcement came, MMORPG.com updated the home page here to include DF on the upcomming list and gave it a 2008 date.
However it is kind of strange that they would do that and then not comment about one of the largest updates for the game ever...maybe they just havent gotten to it yet? i dont know but this website "sold out" long ago, but who are you to judge that they are out to make money. we still see one of the worst games in history used as the wallpaper for the site (AoC) so yea, they are definitely getting some $...but be happy that they run this site for us.
Also lol at people still making random nonsense trolls about this game. I swear i could be sitting in beta or release and saying how much fun I am having, and 100 people could say "me too"...and there will still be people claiming that the game sucks and we are not having fun even though we say we are.

Dont forget that you are talking about a greek developer. Thats why you saw a Monday update about the game, and a late night friday update as well (actually thats because they are in crunch time and working long hours but yea).
It is a business, not just a fan site. I wouldnt be surprised to see some kind of shout out in the next couple of days. Until then, those of us who dont have to work on this day....i hope you are all enjoying your day off as much as I am!

Nah they would be saying it's vaporware.
Im glad mmorpg is making money and when i say sell out i mean they are getting paid not to advertise certain games.. They can put all the adds they want but when they just blackball a game im a bit worried about the information that comes from the company then.
and yes i forgot it was labor day weekend.. this could be why who knows i just though it was odd that this was the biggest news about this game in 7 years and nothing from one of the biggest MMORPG community sites !!!
