First off I have nothing against the game. I am sure that its going to be fun but after how badly AoC failed me I don't really want to play a new MMO. I am honestly more excited about games like Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 that my girlfriend and I can just play together.
Its not just WAR either, AoC made me not enjoy my chosen MMO, LOTRO, due to the fact that it destroyed my guild. LOTRO has an expansion coming out this fall and I am already religating it to a 2009 purchase after I play SW:FU, Gears 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Tom Clancy End War, Tom Clancy Hawx, Sean White snowboarding and Call of Duty World at War. I'm sure there are others I will play but that is besides the point.
I honestly believe that AoC may have ruined my enjoyment of MMOs for ever and it SUCKS.
Playing: Tera, BF3, ME3
Waiting on: Guild Wars 2

I'm guessing what you need is a nice break. Come back in late 2009 and look around. You just need a break from the genre

Yeah i figure that is it. Maybe Ill get back into it when BioWares's mmo drops.
Playing: Tera, BF3, ME3
Waiting on: Guild Wars 2
you are not the only one...... The Reason im not excited is because i kinda of look at war as Yet ANOTHER Fantasy/ Medieval game YAWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNN.. What we are currently seeing is the force feeding of 10000000 games all with similar concepts... HMM LETS MAKE ANOTHER SWORD SWINGING PLATE MAIL WEARING SPELL CASTING MMO ! ! ! the world has not enough of those right?
Like the OP i have nothing against the game.. its really the corporate Suits Building off the Easy to create and "Safe" Medieval fantasy genre then force feeding it to us . i dont play them because if i wanted to play with a turd i could go to the park , That way i wouldnt have to pay for it.
Nope, not excited at all.
Like all the other MMO's out at the moment - Same game, different graphics
Be paid for Beta Testing, don't pay to Beta Test.
I'm in the same boat. I'm going to try it just because that's what "everyone" is doing this fall, but will probably spend more time in EVE.
Just not ready for yet another fantasy level up game, RVR not withstanding.

You nailed it right on the head, That is the MMO I've been waiting for. I quit WoW over a year ago, tried LOTRO but it didn't apeal to me. So I'm just holding out for KOTOR 3.
darkfall should be in beta by mid october lol
no levels, not your average cookie cutter wow/eq build mmo.
Im not excited about WAR even though i should be. I love PvP and need a casual game, but im not excited about WAR...strange.
Anyways im starting FXII, kind of a polar opposite huh.
If it's not your thing, no worries. Play something else, find a new hobby, etc. I heartily recommend Valve's Orange Box, if you've not gotten it yet. Between Half Life 2 and its additional episodes, Portal and Team Fortress 2, you'll be in for a lot of fun, if you even remotely enjoy FPSes.
...moo?
I was excited from WAR gameplay even in closed bet. The only problem I have seen was the graphics - there was many uncompleted parts. Now even the graphics looks amazing!!! Thats what WAR hve to be...
Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

WAR is going to be very successful. It is well built and managed by a good company. Definitely has some original ideas and seems fun to play.
That being said...im not excited about it at all.
I know the whole history of the IP, but at the end of the day WAR looks and plays exactly like WoW. It is the same setting, similar cartoon graphics, almost identical UI and just overall feel. Im not saying someone copied the other, but you cant deny that they are very similar, just more pvp based for WAR.
Im going to play the OB and have some fun with the guild mates who will be playing it, but the majority of my guild who was waiting for WAR just to be able to play with eachother again have moved on to Darkfall in light of the recent timeline for beta and release, and the video that basically proves it is real and is in good shape (to us anyways).
If we are wrong about DF, well WAR will always be there. But no reason to put the money into WAR just to play for a few months.

WAR is actually a well designed game, and a very fun one to play. I have been beta testing it, and so far it comes out to be probably one of the most successful MMO releases to date. If you compare it to AOC then WAR is 100 times better than AOC will ever be. Funcom really screwed up AOC.
Just my opinion anyhow. Id rather wait on some of the other releases instead of buying WAR. The Chronicles of Spellborn is my next pick.
Not excited, but interested to see how it does. I am not blinded by the hype and so far it seems pretty underwhelming, but I'll wait at least a month post-release to see how it pans out (GOA might have everything working by then).
Nah, not currently interested. Stargate Worlds seems to be interesting, I'll know more in a week about it, and Aion seems to be at least not promising the moon (they seem to only be promising things that they have screenshots of ingame, and they have a very, very lax NDA meaning info is slipping out like mad, most of it positive). Other than that, I definitely am keeping a VERY wary eye on Huxley, Fallen Earth, and Chronacles of the Spellborn.
We shall see what gets my attention, but frankly I'm in 'break from the genre' mode. LOTRO was fun for a bit, but really that game is the epitome of the 'quest grind' even more than WoW.

I liked the orange box but if you notice my op, there is no shortage of great games coming out this fall for 360 and ps3.
Playing: Tera, BF3, ME3
Waiting on: Guild Wars 2
I feel like War is a great game, after playing it. I won't bash you a bit because I feel ya man. For once, all I want to see is a "lineage 2 type graphics" "world of warcraft controlled" "siege" "ships and boats" "war with swords and people rushing at eachother" type of game...lol eh...I want something new, fresh, and exciting.
Of course I'm going to play Warhammer. I already pre-ordered it so I mine as well play it. There are ALOT of faults with the game since I've been playing open beta for 2 hours. Currently level 5 and really enjoying rvr. Still confused on A LOT of things inside the game. Overall though, I feel eventually I'll get bored with the game due to the fact that it's pretty much just pvp. It's got decent graphics but they aren't the best I've seen out, since you can walk through things and sometimes when you do a special move or something it pauses and jerks back and further. There's still a lot of faults in the game, I realize it's beta. They've been in closed beta for a little over a year though, so it kind of worries me that there's so many faults from what I've seen today. HOWEVER, it's still a great game and it's going to be a lot of fun leveling in it and gaining rvr levels etc....Maybe it's the fact that I'm a tiny bit questionable on things in the game and still learning so much, and that's the reason I don't LOVE LIKE OMGITS. I do think the game was a LITTLE overhyped. But, when they show the cinematic trailers that tends to happen, lol.
I think the game will go pretty far, no doubt. I just think it will be another to add to the wow type of games. You can either play wow and role play (I HATE ROLE PLAYERS, NO OFFENSE, just saying wow has more to offer in certain directions then warhammer. Warhammer has more pvp though, which I like more. I'll never go back to wow.) and have fun, or you can play a pvp version of wow that to be honest, feels like it's not up to wows par in some of the graphic qualities. Don't go crazy and flame me because I'm saying that. I DON'T EVEN LIKE WORLD OF WARCRAFT ANYMORE AND IT'S NOT REALLY A COMPARISON, but there are some similiar qualities about wow that do compare to War.
It's fun and I only hope Warhammer continues growing. So far, beta seems fun and it's a good game overall. Alot of neat features and tons of pvp, which I love. I'll def. continue playing until next saturday, then I'll do the head start and continue playing daily until I get bored of it and quit. Hopefully, not anytime soon. So far it's alot of fun but it's not hard to notice the things that need to be fixed.
I will be trying Aion and Darkfall. Warhammer just didn't eat up the omg wow factor for me, however I think it came close enough where I'll be playing it until a game does.
Overall Warhammer Ranking 7.5/10
I loved the RVR and Public Quest in War but that was about the only thing that I enjoyed from the game. The gameplay (UPS quest, kill x of mobs a,b,and c) , grathics, and combat system were all lacking. I was also never really digging the classic theme of dwarf, elf, human, orc, goblin thing that all the mmo's have these days.
I think AOC ruined the MMO experience for many players includeing myself but that doesnt mean I wont play a good MMO if one comes out and it looks fun after I have beta tested it. I wont be so dumb to buy a game solely based on hype and screenshots anymore
The only games I am looking forward to for the time being are:
- Aion
- Sacred 2: Fallen Angel
- KOTOR 3 (MMO)
- Diablo III
- Starcraft II
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
I am not excited.

Mount and Blade. Great Game
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/mountandblade/index.html?tag=result;title;0
I dont plan on playing it, it simply doesnt entice me, but im sure tons of people will have fun playing it and thats good enough tbh. I am sticking with EvE and play some Ryzom from time to time. The one game im am anticipating is AION.
The only way id play WAR is if my RL friends decide to go pick it up and thus far they havent hinted at doing so. We tend to play games together to make it more fun.
I was excited until I played the beta for 2 hours today. Now I am hoping that AoC pulls its self together.
Not excited about it at all. I've tried to get into the game repeatedly, but it's just not happening. I don't know if it's the cartoony graphics or the gameplay itself, but something about the game just turns me off.
I'll be sticking with Vanguard for now.
I'm in the same boat.... I've tried to play for the past 2 hours. I've created about 7 different classes. All the chaos melee classes attack way to damn slow for my liking. I tried a black orc and I thnk there was like 5 seconds inbetween attacks for a 1h weapon which is horrible. Witch Elf was pretty cool except the area was horribly done. It's toooo similiar to WoW I wish AOC could pull it together
Playing it was a very boring experience. The combat experience wasn't compelling. But thats just me.
There will be lots of goodies in the game.
As for me being remotely excited about the the game in general it's pre-failed for me. There's no crafting*, no economic warring, or anything remotely like that.
*Well technically there's good crafting but it's SOO under implemented for the complexity of the system that it's funny.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
I've tried getting myself pumped for it but I can't. I will be playing my xbox360 and that is what gets me excited and worked up, sadly.
WAR seems polished and all. But it's not what I've been looking forward to. I sort of would like to see better graphics, better costume decoration, and exciting combat system. The combat feels like what ive been playing for last few years.
I just cant get myself worked out for it. More excited bout the new games on my xbox 360. That's what I'm preordering....
I would try WAR though if my best friends try it. But they say they going to stick with WoW so I dunno.
I might buy it? But I dont think I will have much time for it and hard to get excited bout another linear treadmill. And not a big fan of race vs race games where Classes not same for the factions. I can only see mass nerfing and imbalances hope I'm wrong.....
