Their feedback page stinks. I tried typing and only got 3 sentences before I was maxed. So I'm sending an appeal right now to try to get the word to them, atleast through someone. Maybe you all can do the same.

Hi, how are you doing tonight? I had to post here because feedback page wasn't allowing me to post my whole letter. I have been having a discussion tonight with quite a few people over on the mmorpg.com forums under warhammer online. We've been discussing the chat system and how it feels dead. We would like it if it was revamped, more user friendly. We would like a box that you can click to chat. It feel as if it's blended into the game and it doesn't stand out enough. The game feels weird without chatting and I feel like it just needs something done to it in order for people to actually talk in it. People are complaining about it and saying no one talks again. Granted, it's beta. I just think the chat system isn't user friendly enough. Thanks!

There's the small letter I sent to them...so ye...maybe everyone that doesn't care for the chat system and feel it doesn't stand out enough can go on the game and send a report / appeal and let them know.

In Scenarios I am ALWAYS the only one talking....giving tactic advice etc

Tactics? You mean the zerging and 1-shotting?

1-shotting, err have you actually played this game?

AoC was 1-shotting. like the guy above said, AoC sucked big time, get over it and move on.

I think the biggest issue is people are exploring and enjoying the game, another is since quest area's are show to you on the big map no one really needs to ask hey where is so and so,then last but no least I really do not like the chat window I dunno somethin about it just bugs me feels clunky.

I've noticed MMORPG communities have been steadily going down hill, with the last two years seeing the worst slide.

I think it's a lot of elements coming together. Many early MMORPG players were originally pen and paper RPGers and thus understood the very social nature of the genre. As the genre outgrew it's original base, things began to change.

End game raids paired with voice chat killed text chat even more. "Easy mode" quest tracking and locating made asking for advice or help largely a thing of the past. Generational differences are also coming into play.

Many teens now abandon proper grammar and spelling for the shorthand they are used to with IMs and text messaging. Such shorthand is really frowned on by the old school in MMORPG chat, so these people just shut up completely.

I think people are also just more anti-social in games today. Even in WAR, with open parties, auto join and Public Quests, you still run in to way too many people who refuse to group, close their groups or literally flee from anyone that even says "Hi".

It's a very wierd gaming world we live in. I hope it's not an accurate mirror of our evolving modern society.

I believe that the current problem with the empty chat window is that there is no easily accessible tier-wide defense channel.

I know Mythic tried to avoid the "Barrens chat" syndrome but imo they went a bit too far.

There should be tier-wide, pairing-wide and realm-wide channels where players could call for reinforcements, give updates on the state of different RvR lakes etc... And those channels should be on by default but easily turned off by buttons rather than / commands in the chat itself.

While open group system is really great, a chat channel where you could actually advertise your group and state its intention would be very welcome as well.

Sometimes it is really hard to find out where in the world you're needed just by glancing at the world maps. A global /defense communications network is a must. ASAP!
