And yes I'm just being provocative to all fanbois. Both WAR, AoC, and WoW fanbois. I love all 3 games so thankfully for me, all 3 is running smoothly.
Tired of people bashing other games.

If you look at xfire, you'll see the launch of Warhammer dind't put a dent in WOW, but caused a certain other game to lose about 30% of it's players.

I know AoC is seeing a fall in population.
It's troubling to be honest. But if they keep it at a Vanguard level which they will have no issue doing it will still be running I think.
As for WAR denting WoW. I wouldn't even want that. I just want healthy populations and communities for all MMORPG's. That gives me as a user more choice and variety when bored and in need of something random to play.

The difference is that Vanguard was supported by Sony even though it wasn't making any money. Funcom is in real trouble financially. The game could be put on life support by another company, but Funcom is going to be going out of business soon, just like the original makers of Vanguard did.
You are absolutely correct about Warhammer being good for WOW. I am absolutely loving the innovations the did with Lake Wintergrasp. It will really increase my enjoyment of the pvp side of WOW..and I know that Lake Wintergrasp would never have been implemented had it not been for Warhammer.
Yeah you guys are right. The WoW Fanbois (which is about 25% of the population, 50% would be asian and 25% normal gamers) will not like WAR. You see, WAR isnt on EZ mode like world of warcraft. there arent twinks or powerleveling (OH NO! HOW WILL I LEVEL?!) You actually have to have SKILL to play... For the sake of argument here....
There is one part of your statement that is laughably incorrect. "It's actually NOT all about your gear and grinding 10 hours at some stupid instance."
Okay...the REASON that is laughable is because it's only a partial truth. If you haven't gotten in to your renown rank gear sets yet...I can understand you saying that, BUT....you will be SURPRISED at how much difference good gear makes in WAR...just like in WoW or any OTHER MMO. But yes...it's not ALL about gear, just SOME.
Grinding.....uhm, yeah whatever. No, you will no longer be grinding "instances" or "BGs". Instead, you will be grinding PQs for influence (well...only going like 5 times or so each, but repetitive still), and you WILL be grinding different scenarios as you level up for RENOWN instead of marks and HKs. You still have to have a certain level of RENOWN to get your RR gear. Also....there are some VERY good armor sets that can only be found in instances in WAR. And guess what....you ROLL on the pieces when they drop. So...that's not all that different, imho. But yes, it's true...you won't have to run instances for the same number of HOURS, because they have "hubs", essentially, so that you can divide them up over the course of a few days/nights.
WAR has a lot of fun and nice things in it, but the people who are proclaiming it to be "oooohhhh so different," I think are just trying to convince THEMSELVES more than anything. I think Warhammer is fun. There are definitely some things I like about it, BUT....if you're looking for a groundbreaking innovation of a game.....this isn't that. It's done some things that have been done before a little better. It has done some things not as well.
Overall...I think a lot of PvP lovers will LOVE WAR. I think a lot of PvE raiders will find it very trite in comparison to the other choices out there. But as I've said in other posts....this is WHY there is more than ONE game in the world. EVERY GAME isn't going to appeal to EVERY gamer.

What a joke, no you will not get an AMEN from me because you are laughably emberassing yourself. OF COURSE GEAR COUNTS, OTHERWISE ID GO PLAY COUNTERSTRIKE. And later levels, i dont HAVE to play 10 hours straight to get that final boss, I can divide it up with a few hours a day.

Yeah, skill. Because of the death penalty in this game people won't just run in, spam attack, die, repeat.

AND there is no gear in this game either. You have the same exact armor and weapon throughout the entire game never upgrading stats through drops or quest rewards.

I can easily say the same thing about WoW.. "TANK, HEAL, ATTACK, DIE, REZ ATTACK" except this is against the COMPUTER. If you get in a guild you can organize attacks and focus healing etc etc, if your an idiot youll run to the front lines with your black orc, get in a hit die, repeat. The game is far deeper, why cant WoW fanbois realize this? Not to mention the game was JUST released. Theyll be fine tuning it as they go along. Good luck on your 10 hour grinds guys

Do you think you're "teaching us all" something here about Warhammer? lol I've already said repeatedly in numerous threads, that there is much to like about Warhammer, but it seems fanbois (regardless of the game they worship), only see what they WANT to see when reading posts. /rollseyes
Warhammer is not the game god's gift to gaming. I don't think any game qualifies for that title, no matter WHAT game we're talking about. There are different games, because there are different people. And just because YOU like a certain game, does not mean that everyone else, or even anyone else has to like it.
Opinions are like buttholes....everyone has one. No one's opinion is more "right" or "special" than anyone else's. Sorry....I know that's a hard life lesson.

Im at college getting a business degree and can play in my spare time
Glad yall found each other. THe WoW way - "If someone disagrees with you, hate spam them and make friends with other people that also do"

You have an awful lot of venomous anger, kiddo. Seriously, you need to grow up a bit. All of this hateful rhetoric because other peoples' opinions over a game differ from yours? Is that the most important thing you have in your life? If so...that's very very sad.
Not that I owe you ANY sort of explanation, BUT, I was a medical secretary when I was younger, I have a college degree in graphic design, and I retired from owning my own design company at the ripe old age of 40. I've raised 3 children, who are now 18, 19 and soon to be 21. My children are very successful well-adjusted young adults, who do not spend their time on the internet, as their retired mother does (I happen to enjoy it, and have EARNED the right to do as I please, thank you very much).
My daughter is studying to be a police officer. My oldest son was a varsity athlete in school, and is now engaged to be married to a lovely young lady that he met after high school. He works two jobs right now, as he's saving to buy them a home. My youngest son still lives at home, works full-time and is saving to buy a car. He has Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome and is scheduled for ablation surgery next month. We're very excited about this, as it is a curative procedure that should allow him to live the rest of his life with a lot less worries (which goes for his parents too).
They are good-natured, intelligent young people of whom I am very proud to have raised.
So yes....I HAVE really made it far in the world! Thank you for noticing!
Now do everyone a favor....go do some yoga or something, meditate, whatever it takes to calm down, and log off and enjoy your evening. You're not doing yourself any favors by letting yourself get all bent out of shape here because of differing opinions about a GAME, for crying out loud.
