i want this game to be good, but the moves of the fans here has just about turned me away from the game.
it did not reach number 1 because of being better hyped then the other games, but due to a mass fanboy spamming of low ranking for the games above it. the comunity of darfkall who has (rightfuly) coplained about mindless hate towards them has turned the hate towards every other game with out any true reason besides to pump themselves up.
with fans like that i guess its good to have open PvP, cuz there will be a lot of people i will want to introduce my mace to

DF released a gameplay video, two publisher announcements and offers something different to whats out there now. so it started getting alot of hype, however due to the dehyping of WAR it didnt raise but stayed steady and infact dropped a few points, however due to other games on the list not doing a heap information wise and not getting a whole lot of hype they started to drop.

People are going to use the hype meter to score their lelvel of hype for particular games. Warhammer was on top of the hype list because it had a big following of fans that were excited about it. Darkfall also has a large following so unsurprisingly this will get reflected in the hype meter.
Followers of other, lesser games may about Darkfall being on top, but someone has to be on top and the situation for most of the games (ie - not being on top) has not changed.

Collision detection and friendly fire's pretty dumb, but a few of those have the first 2.
If you have done the research, maybe you can tell me which ones have no instances + full loot? I might check them out..
How is it dumb to promote player skill and team coordination in pvp, and make zerking less viable?
In all other mmorpgs you can usually stack on top of eachother, and AOE nuke without hurting your friends, and maybe even have some no-skill features like an assist button you press to target the same person as your main-assist. This requires absolutely no skill or coordination, and promotes zerking.
Well, collision IMO could really break gameplay. Imagine being in, say orgrimmar for instance, from WoW. What if theres just a line of people AFK'ed blocking the way into the auction house, and you need a new sword? Guess your screwed eh =P
Ok imagine that it's DarkFall and not WoW. Imagine that it has open PvP with no safe zones full looting. Now imagine that the Dev's have already said you can push people out of the way. With me so far?.... ok now Imagine that the world is seamless and huge...... ok enough of that lol sorry
DarkFall is a large seamless world with Full loot pvp anywhere no safe zones. If someone has the marbles to try and block anything they better have the man power to back it up.

ALL but seven only has 2 posts to their count and most of the negative posts were all done between September 11 to September 8 (Sept 8 was the date on the official forumfall darkfall forums where one of the darkfall members here posted over there about coming here and lowering everyone elses score and hyping their own.

I honestly don't see what the problem is. If I don't know much about a game, obviously I am not excited for it. Hence why shouldn't I give it a lower hype? Darkfall fans have a complete difference in opinion on what a good MMO should be like which means 90% of the games on that list automatically are sub-par. This isn't eqclonemmorpg.com.

not to crash the party, but Darkfall went in the number one spot because WAR went to live release to day....they went from the hype meter to the rank meter. Besides, this is kinda entertaining. Darkfall is the only game I have ever seen here on mmorpg.com where they make such a big deal with the hypemeter. If they are number one, then they are l33t and every other game sucks. If they are number two, then the staff here at mmorpg.com hacked the hypemeter to make the game look bad. Very interesting phenomon (sp). Whatever the case, the current state of mind of many darkfall fans (not all) makes it so that people are not going to want to play the game. Many of you guys are really "weird" concerning your passions about the game and your pure consuming hatred towards those who think otherwise. Im sure people are not going to want to participate in a MMO community that acts like that.
