typically the game cards are slightly more exspensive than the recurring credit card subscription. I would expect to see a slight dsicount on a recurring subscription, although I doubt the monthly recurring will be any cheaper it should go down with the 90 day and larger ones.
Originally posted by hercules Actually i suspected a 17.95 for the game since SoE has always been the first to do a price hike. EQlive was first to raise it from 9.99 to 12.95 SWG was first to raise from 12.95 to 14.95 Usually they start other companies follow suit. So its great to know we will not have another price hike.
I thought DAoC and Asheron's Call 2 opened at 12.95 and it was only after that EQ went up to 12.95? Also SWG opened at $14.95, didn't get raised to it from 12.95 last time I checked. Then again could be wrong.
Anyway don't the price of game cards usually tend to cost a little more then online payments since with gamecards, they have to be made while you don't have that extra added cost with online payments?
Originally posted by rathma That's an outrage. It's going to cost me over 20 bucks a month when most of the "big" updates will come in an expansion i have to buy. You know SOE will barely give any real updates to the game. Hmm... They schedueled jump to lightspeed to come out soon about a year and 2 months ago, how is that expansion doing? Oh right, it's not out yet. EverQuest II will rock.
I disagree for two reasons. First, i dont think you should judge how they will work updates and expansions because of SWG. They actually did real updates in EQ and they did them usually every month. Second, there are things i wish i was allowed to explain to tell to people. But i think the game will be pretty stable before release. Expansions are usually made, especially with EQ, to have a major effect that will change the game. Updates are there to fix problems and bugs, not to add new content.

More accurately, Updates routinely fix problems and bugs, but on occasion are used for content advancements as well.

I assumed around $15, since that is what SWG has been forever. Just glad it's not $20 US currency also...

I actually would have been surprised if it was going to cost more than $15. That's not cool. I am reluctant to say I would pay $20 or more. I think I would draw the line at $17 (US) with tax!
The question that I really want to know the answer to is are they going to raise the prive of SOE all access since it will include eq2? This doesnt seem fair to SOE all access members who arent going to play eq2 but I couldn't believe that SOE would let us have it for the same price.

euro types have a value added tax (about 17%.) So $15 becomes $17.55.
I feel bad for you guys, $2.55 can make a difference for some people to not being able to purchase the game monthly.

I kind of look at it like this:
Pay $15 and expect to have a decent game with some support, and if it isn't quite there like I want...complain.
Or, pay less and expect less support and not have much premise for a complaint.
However much I really don't want to pay more...I'm willing to.
