EVE Online: Shiva Expansion Testing Begins

CCP Games has just begun allowing their registered players to test the upcoming Shiva expansion. This expansion will be free to all registered players of EVE and will add many new features and loads of content to the existing game.

I personally can't wait for this new exp pack, and it's pretty much the easy why I started playing EvE to begain with.
Currently 0 space is the playground for Alliances to wage war on each other. There are a few scattered stations and you can mine some higher end ores, but 0 space is large and mostly meaningless.
Player owned structures should change that, you can set your own bases in a system, have new players mine in the safety of your corp own cannons and other orbital defenses. Having a spot in space is like having a castle in a Tolkien based MMORPG.
Hopefully it will shift the game away from camping gates and stations to living out everyday life in 0 space. IE raids, minning, production, research, docking...ect.
Shiva is chalk full of patch goodness, I can't wait.

whens the expansion due out ?
As usual, CCP delivers a fine product. Shiva is an expansion that alot of us veteran EVE'ers have been waiting for....and something to look forward to for all of those new Earth & Beyond converts.
Shiva will greatly increase the EVE experience, just like all of the Castor updates did.
Kudos, CCP.
Finally some POS!! The only thing though atm is that testing is limited to a very laggy server. Although the little I was able to do made me jump of excitement. It's going to be a very nice updagte indeed. Much more teamwork needed and some very good possibilities for big alliance wars, raids etc.
