SWG or FFXI?

Im a FF maniac.
I used to play FFVII and FFIX everyday. I luv everything related to Final Fantasy: Chocobos, Moogles, Summons.....
BUT
Im a SW fan. I luv the movies (first trilogy). N I luv everything related to it: Jawas, Speedbikes, Jedi, The Empire.....
Oh sht, this is very difficult.
PLZ help me choose the right game.

If you that much of a fan, im sure you will like both.
If you want to relive the movies, you can visit all the places in game for the most part.
Too bad you weren;t around for the 14 day trial for SWG. Seemed ok, if you got creative and explored around a bit it was fun. Though missions are far and few different unless you get out there and find some from certain NPCs.
Really though, hard to say.

I will just tell you this..
try out SWG for the free period if fileplanet still has the d/l.
and if your thinkin of FFXI atleast be smart, and get PC to save money incase you don't like it

which should i play?
With this PC u can play both games, but for SWG it wouldnt hurt if u had 1GB of ram, cause its realy memory eating game. On the other hand in terms what to choose i would go for FFXI, cause its almost bug free, very good populated, lots of stuff to do game. I bought it this week, but dont like it that much, cause now when i played WOW stress test i really cant play any other game anymore

FFXI: Nice graphics, bug-free, linear, bad char customization, good sound/music,good quests
SWG: Great graphics, buggy, non-linear, good char customization, horrible quests.

As a Hardcore ff fan myself i could not wait for ffXI and now i got it i wish i had not bothered it is one of the worst mmorpg's out there, i don't think it should have the final fantasy name as it is a disgrase to the series.
You can tell the game has been big time dumbed down to allow ps2 players easyer gameplay, the combat is the slowest i have ever seen(even worse than eq), char customisation is a big time joke and the play online login system is the worst login system out there of any game(if you get diconnected while patching you have to totally reinstall the game).
SWG's main problems are bug's and lack of content so if you wanted to try it i would wait for the jump to lightspeed addon to try it as it shoould be adding more content to the game.
I've never played SWG myself. I played FFXI which I had a lot of fun with. A friend of mine though started out with SWG and was not happy at all. A couple months after I started FFXI he switched over and has since said he was much happier with FFXI. We are both big fans of the final fantasy series. He is a big fan of star wars where as I am not really.
FFXI while great for a while.. after a year of play though it has somewhat gotten boring.. you do a lot of the same things repeatedly until you're a really high level. We are currentely looking at what other options are out there for us. Looking at World of Warcraft and Everquest2, but really both of those games are more of the same repetative boring grind.. crap. Really waiting for Wish and Dark and light, but not sure if we want to wait the extra 4-6 months for those 2 to be released.
SW: G pretty graphics, Star Wars Theme park, No Galactic Civil War, and people wear cylon armor then stormtroooper/rebel armor. If you expected an INTERACTIVE Star Wars game you wasted your money.
FFXI has pretty graphics, horrid force grouping, GREAT storyline. If you don't have a friend who is a white mage you just wasted money buying this game.

or maybe he goes Beastmaster in which case he CAN solo and because of the ability to change your jobs at your mog house without changing characters he doesn't have to redo all the quests atain all the ranks and earn all the money all over again.
no white mage? create your own white mage or better yet red mage which is far favored for parties at higher levels regardless.
One aspect that's been left out is the community which is really different in both games.
SW:G is a social oriented MMORPG, there is lots of interaction with other players and you can play exclusively only chatting or doing tradeskills or whatnot (okay, there isn't much content outside of that, but you get the idea)
FFXI on the other hand, meh, if the community there is bad enough to get to me... I won't get into it, but if I was you I wouldn't make any hopes meeting even half competent people on that game, they are just too rare and in between.
Anyhow, choice is yours and it really depends on what you are looking for. If it's solid gameplay you wish go with FFXI, if you want a good community on the other hand choose SW:G.

I think you should buy Final Fantasy! I am a SW fan also, never played FF but I love it!
Later you can buy SWG also! But it's your choice. But if you ask me, buy FF!

Both of those games will get ungoldy boring in no time. Tried them both and they offer nothing other then pretty graphics.

Well tip for you.
if you get FFXI right now and start playing.. you will probably have a hard time finding players to party with or just hang around w/ at lower levels... there aren't too many new sign ups into the game and players who have been on for a while are high level and can't help ya.
now as for you 05 comment... if you wait ... you will experience the SAME thing in those 2 games... high level players not able to really help you the newb out
It took me 3 years to finially join up into EQ and when I did there weren't Any low level players around to party with or help me out.. i had to rely on high level players who were always too far away to come help me
No offense but I tried EQ: great gameplay, content, bad community (they wont help you.....ever! specialy if u r a n00b) and horible CS. Its a grind fest

I would personally go with FFXi but it is up to you. If you are looking for the more technology based game go with SWG, if you want to go with the usual fantasy then go with FFXI. FFXI is a pretty decent game although i dont play anymore.
I thought EQ's community was fine. A lot of high level characters helped out lower levels on my server atleast. I brought in a lot of Platinum so i would occasionaly give out a set of armor or a weapon.

Most of the people in EQ won't help you if ur a n00b bcuz mst ppl ter dn't liek ppl who tlk liek dat or beg or as for platz$$ but on the other hand, if you ask politely people are more than friendly. They won't help you ever? funny, I remember when I started that game every single person out there helped me, sure it was 5 years ago and the community is ever changing, but even today it's filled with great people.
