I had no intention of playing this game. I was very annoyed that many in my LOTRO guild were moving here for a try out.  I grudgingly bought it, complained about my first 5 levels, complained about the graphics, the linear nature of the starter area etc.

I logged back in the night of release, rolled a dwarf, did some pvp instances, a few more PQ's, cashed in some influence, got a few more skills in my book and viola! I was suddently having a FANTASTIC time.

Just plain fun, interesting, creative gameplay.  I cant tell you how many "ah ha" type moments or small grin/smile "oh isnt that neat" type moments Ive had over the past week or so.  The game is interesting, its creative, it provides a neat variety of things to do.  The community is suprisingly mature and fun.

The game is almost bug free, runs smooth, and seems polished.

I am a huge supporter of WAR and as I say i had ZERO plans to even look at this thing.

90% of the warhammer haters never got a character past 11 or never had any intention of playing anything other than wow.

The first few levels do sucks in warhammer, especially your first time playing because you have no idea what to do or what to expect, so you think the games going to be like the first levels.

If you like farming and grinding however, this game isnt going to cut it for you.

    5. The most over rated mmo in history

    6. The ugliest game in mmo history

Lol..I remember seeing threads like this on the AoC forums in their first month of release too.

Getting beat by an expansion is worst then an actual mmo no?

    Why do you even care?

Not to mention what you posted is all opinion and since you can't tell the dif. between an opinion and fact how can I believe anything you have to say.  I can't,

HAHAHAHAHA! this guy is funny.  exaggerate much?  He had to make a new nick to do it too.

I'm having a ton of fun in WAR.  Its nice to be able to RvR and do open world PvP once again with a purpose.  Had a few keep battles already and these are tons of fun.

I guess haters have some deep seated problems where they have to make others not like a game.  Pretty sad I must say.

I can imagine these pathetic people sitting down surfing the net to find everything possibly bad about the game and posting links to it and pulling their hair out trying to number crunch about the game while the rest of us are having fun in it :)  I'm sure some of them are carebears who don't like rvr tho.  However, I find the PQs pretty fun too.

Most PvPers stayed in wow because there was nothing else to go to.  Now there is an alternative which offers so much better PvP instead of a dumb item grind with the same 4 BGs and arenas LMAO.

MMORPG.com is the cess pool of spoiled ass bitchy gamers. Most of you probably live your life through a computer screen so no wonder you get all bent out of shape when a game doesn't jerk you off properly. I know I'll be banned for this but god damn tired of the cry babies. You people have computers, broadband access, high end graphics cards & wonderful games to play. Nobody is bombing your house or kicking down your door. Why can't you people just enjoy the games FOR WHAT THEY ARE? If they are not appealing to you, then STFU and go play something else.

Yeah, freedom of speech blah blah blah. But, just because you have the right to speak, doesn't mean you should.

PS: This game ROCKS. I'm not going to crucify it because it didn't read my mind and come out with the exact game I wanted. I play the game for what it is...and what it is....is HIGHLY FUN. So play or spend your life crying over fracking pixels.

How come? If someone trashes this game based on their opinion about it. You are telling them that they are wrong?

There have been no good effort to trash this game. This is a game who that bougth it likes it, otherwise you would really have seen a good effort into trashing it.

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

Number 3 is just a piece of bull, what about the 4 citys, the 2 classes, things like that cool idea that orcs would be bigger once they level up and so on? They cutted a lot of content. www.gucomics.com/comic/

The launch were totaly OK but Guildwars launched without a single bugg so I wouldn't call it worldclass.

It's not a bad game at all but come on, you make it sound like a religion, not a game. It is ok to like a game but worship it is a bit to much.

Well there are other MMO's out there then just WoW you know.

These are all your matter of opinion, and nothing more.

The fastest selling mmo and pc game in history by the wya is TBC, with over 2 million cpoies sold in 1 day.

And if your going to point out the obvious, that its an opinion, why not counter with some intelligent info besides calling an expansion the fastest selling mmo. Way to fail Captain Obvious.

I would agree with them all except number 3 ,because i havent seen end game content, so i will reserve judgement on that one---But it was released pretty smooth with hardly any bugs and the game does feel pretty complete so far........ So if your gonna be a wise guy  at least include some info debunking what the guy above you posted instead of making yourself look like a troll.

EDIT***** ohhhhh after looking at your post history , it all makes sense, your just a wow fan boi who is on a mission to flame every other game out there by using your opinions as facts huh ????? only a wow fan boi would think TBC was a full game hahahahaha

So far I can say that the content is only getting better as you level.  Lots of unique PQs and Mount Gunbad is a blast.  Can't wait to see what else is around the corner.

I agree with you and the OP; people have been trying to trash this game from the start but are having an increasingly hard time to do so since there is so damn little to trash. Delivering quality will always pay off. So they change their tactics and bash things that could have been better or just the minor nitpickings and blow up the proportions to make them look gamebreaking.

Most of us who have played this game for a length of time after release, know that those people are failing in their claim that WAR is a bad game. It might not be THEIR game (so far as they actually tried it out) but it certainly is a GOOD game to most of us.

Just as most of us know that the amount of issues and problems with WAR at launch are far fewer compared to other games at launch and we have faith in Mythic to do some more polishing in the coming time.

I actually like the game, but am seriously concerned about the pop imbalance, as I posted on another thread.    Without healthy competition the game will crash and burn.  Right now, I dont see that.  One side is being forced into PvE and scenarios while the other side roams the world....

What a silly post.  One, it's a little premature to say anyone's won or lost.  Two, what exactly constitutes a win?  There were a lot of people proclaiming war a wow-killer and predicting the demise of wow.  Well all those people lost miserably.  Some people would say that only 200k subs at launch was a big win but other say they should have had at least a mil with all the hype.  So what contitutes a win for the fanboys?  Hmmmmm....  Seems pretty relative to me.  Maybe it all comes down to what it means personally to each player.  This detractor won because I avoided buying a sloppy, boring game.

    Detractors lost what?

EA claims 1.5 million units shipped

EA claims 500,000 subs in the first week.

Over half the servers are still low/low med/low or low/med.

Something doesn't add up one way or the other.

Personally I don't own stock in EA so I can't win or lose... regardless of if this game had 10 million subs or no subs at all.

Odd concept imho.. to be able to have "lost" something you had no stake in.  Oh and hell ya I'm a detractor of the game... because its moving backward from what daoc was.. instead of moving forward... evolving or even growing.

That's a point of view.. just like how over half the servers seem pretty empty with 500,000 subscribers... is a point of view.

    *edit*

Oh and the only thing worse than a whiney gamer.. is someone that preaches how bad they are while whining like a biatch at them.

    Yet another odd concept.

Your play on words is transparent attempt at poppycock and very infantile.  If someone lost it means someone else has to have won.  Besides a fan like the OP can obviously be a troll also.  Here we go again with the "everyone who doesn't like my game is automatically a troll" BS.

When I checked the servers yesterday there wasn't a single one showing a single faction in low.

Most were Med/ med with some med/ high and a few that were High/ high, high/ full.

Maybe low during the weekday when people are normally at work or school, but prime time east and west coast they are not.

If things keep going the way they are mythic could be in need of another server or two after the first month or two of release.

Edit:  What in the hell is a poppycock?!

And Mythic all of a sudden decided to hide every guild's member amount so you can't gather population figures any more.

    http://www.tillberg.us/warpop

The person that runs the site tries to estimate the population balance on each server by checking the guild populations so players are aware of server balance. Now:  "I can only imagine that this action is directly intended to prevent myself and others from gathering accurate population figures."

Well then you checked a different game than I'm playing.. dunno what else to say.

And I've seen this same claim while I was actively looking at the server list when the person posted they were all high or med.. and still were showing low... so yes it says a lot about mmorpg... on both sides of the bridge.

There are 52 servers on my list...

    20 to 25 of them are high/high

    or med/med... at peak.

That leaves 27 that are low/low or a variation of low/med at peak..

far as I know out of 52.. 27 is over half... or they changed math sense I was in school.

This post left me with mixed feelings.  I sympathise and quite frankly agree with the general position you are taking.  Too many people with nothing better to do come to these forums and whine about how WAR is going to fail, or how everyone who is enjoying WAR just needs to understand they are wrong because it can't be a fun game because their vision of a fun game isn't WAR.  I also think their attempts to justify their opinions on the matter are generally worthless to the people who get and enjoy the game WAR is.

The problem I'm having with your post isn't the message, it's the delivery.  We are all human beings posting here, and even the most annoying of us deserve a modicum of respect and polite treatment.  It's true their message is generally unwelcome here, but I personally kind of hope we can rise above their rude behavior, and be the more mature and reasonable people who explain this to them in firm but polite discourse.  If they can't feel like they are successfully agravating us, many of these trolls will move on in search of weaker prey.

    I hope this helps.

A statement of opinion, like every post either pro or con Warhammer on this entire site.

The crux of the matter is essentially this:

    Some people will love WAR.

    Some people with hate it.

And some other people will just say...."Meh...it's a decent game, but it's not the game for me."

Seriously, these threads like this are going to go on and on and on and on, until people begin to realize that they should all just go play what they enjoy playing, and that all the talk in the world isn't going to convince anyone that WHATEVER game YOU personally think is best....is indeed "The Best."  People will always think the game that they themselves enjoy the most, is the "best."  Most of that is simply subjective.

Ok but here is the real question...

If anon person A comes in here and says Warhammer Online is the biggest pos ever launched.

    Why does person B care?

To the point of giving them a label "troll".

    Do they own stock?

As an example people say WoW sucks every day... Vivendi still reports record profits every quarter due to the people playing.

The entire point of a forum should be to say you point of view.. which in subjective matter is ALL that matters.

Other than some statements which can be proven/disproven because they aren't subjective.

A game being crap or not being crap from someones point of view.. is just that their point of view.

Yet when A doesn't agree with B it turns into some kind personal attack slander campaign.

Which again leads to the simple question of why...

Unless you work for EA... Mythic or own stock... it really shouldn't even matter.

And.. if my point of view doesn't match someoen elses.. it most likely never will.  Thus the invention of the word... "subjective".

The entire concept of this thread.. and its opposite... are.. illogical.

Which is more or less the point.

I was stating from my point of view on my med/low SE launch server.. that its hard to believe there is 500,000 people in the game and on the VN server forums.. that seems to be pretty much the acrossed the board feel other than a few servers.

If you don't know VN is more or less the "official" forums as they were with daoc.. which is why Mark Jacobs post there so often.
