Thats how the constitution and the United States was designed. More power to states, let them make the state how they want it. Let the state be more socialist, and if you don't like it move to a different state. After all we aren't a communal mind, sometimes I don't wanna put money up so the fed can give it to wild-life researchers or bailing out corporations.

Arrest that man! Hes making us see rationality in states-rights!

I think the idea is noble but the way McCain make it sounds is that we'd only spend money on war (research, defense), and veterans (whom mccain is). Why are veterans more important then education or healthcare?

States can run healthcare and education better then the fed. Its been proven a state can stretch a dollar much further since they have a limited amount of budget to work with. States wish they even had 700 Billion on thier budget. I would rather keep social programs at the local level where you get better support then with a suite in D.C.

While this may be true, he certainly is more educated than the President that we have right now.  You know, that guy the Republicans have voted for twice in the last 8 years.

And the VP nominee Mrs. Sarah Palin isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, at least Biden and Obama are intellectuals. Honestly, can you imagine her being the President of the Senate? I can't. Well I couldn't imagine penguin-man Dick Cheney being it either but that's a whole other story.

I'd rather have Sarah Palin as president of the United States than Obama any day. There is nothing more dangerous than a pseudo-intellectual in the white house. I have seen nothing from Obama that tells me he is a true intellectual. I see him as being somewhat intelligent, but not very knowledgeable in anything really.

The only successful intellectual we ever had in the white house was Bill Clinton, and Obama is no Bill Clinton. The other one was Woodrow Wilson, and that man was a nightmare that began all this mess we have now. Maybe the worst president we ever had -- other than perhaps FDR (I mean FDR was our  worst president domestically in terms of the harm he did to this country -- the way he led in WWII was top notch).

Either way I don't feel Obama is a real intellectual. Biden is though, and I would have much rather had him as the candidate for the democratic party than Obama. Honestly, I think the ONLY thing good about him is what it would do for the country to have an African American in there -- of what it will do for black kids to grow up watching his two daughters in the white house.

Otherwise I think he's a pretty awful guy and the worst candidate I've seen from the Democrats since Dukakis (although I think Dukakis was at least a decent man).

At least we wouldn't have to worry about the middle east. She would be up Russia's ass the entire 4 years along with digging up man's best friend the dinosaurs out of the oil in Alaska. Get it done! Might as well have Tina Fey as President.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Actually from her latest SNL skit some of that material is actual quotes from Palin, which kinda scares me.

Lets not stop there. Every city in every State is encouraged to deplete their resources before fiscal years end. If they don't and have cash funds left over, they are punished and receive less funds the following year.

This needs to be changed. Every City should be rewarded for a surplus of cash at years end. Any City that had depleted its resources should be evaluated on an individual basis.

If it is found that a City has taken funds much like my City has and placed a cement set of hands grappling one another in front of City Hall for 600,000 dollars then they should have their cash resources diminished the following year. If a city needs exuberance like that then the Population in the City should dig the change out of their pocket and stop using tax payer dollars for useless crud. The rush to spend at years end needs to stop.
