WoW will never launch! Vaporware!

Go to the blizzard site, LOOK at all those fetures...Vaporware anyone? I mean they are launching in what, a month? Talk to the beta testers...Half the classes aren't even in teh game yet!!!! There is NO WAY they can finish their game in a month...I bet the money men at Blizzard pull the plug and we never see squat!

         Hey man don't be sating stuff like that. I can't wait for this game to come out. They'll figure someway for it to come out on time. It has to come out I mean I already pre-ordered it and everything. Best-buy already has a spot for it so it will have to come out it's to late to back out now.

    I disagree, i believe that they will have the game out by November 15th. What classes are they missing?

    Games Played:L2, DoAC,EQ,CoH, and Planetside
    Playing Now:None :(

         Well with how it looks they may not have it out right on the 15th but something the 15th-17th somewhere in there. but that is a good point which classes are missing? I know their still improving the techniques and skills and such but all the classes are there and prepared for the release.

    Okay, lets do this peice by peice.

    First:What the hell are you talking about when you say Vaporware? I don't think anyone knows. I sure don't.
    Second:The game is most likely not launching in a month. Those are all just estimates that stores and websites have made to build anticipation for the game. Or maybe it will, but Blizzard has NOT yet set a release date.
    Third: All of the classes that were guarenteed to be in release are, in fact, ready for release. Only thing that needs to be done is talents for 2 classes is it? I am pretty sure.
    Fourth: It is too late in the developement stage to pull the plug on this project. They have spent far too much time and money to give up on it now and I would be able to bet everything I have that this game will release eventually.
    Fifth:"It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought of as a fool, rather than to open it and remove all doubt."
    Sixth:Don't come here to start crap unless you have done your research and know what you are talking about. Now please hit that little 'X' button in the top right of your screen and never come to MMORPG.com again. Thank you in advance.

    I agree dont start up a hornets nest without doing the research.  They just released they opening open beta isnt that means they are getting closer to release?  I hear 30 to 60 days for open beta to release is about right.  With over 200 posts I hope to god they are not all like this. If they are I need a /ignore command image.

    Cant wait for it though image

    I would also like to know what vaporware is::::04::. As for the game not being ready, it is true that the horde side is not as polished as the alliance but remember all the talents were in during alpha and they took them out to rework them. Conidering the talents are the last main character piece I believe that the game is quite ready!

         Yes I would have to agree with that. The talents may not be completely ready but they will be soon enough.

         You called one person an Idiot for not knowing what something is now theres more so I would have to agree once more and think that you should explain vaporware to us.

    Vaporware is software or hardware that is either (1) announced or mentioned publicly in order to influence customers to defer buying competitors' products or (2) late being delivered for whatever reason. Most computer companies have from time to time delivered vaporware, either by calculation or unintentionally. The vaporware picture is now "clouded" by the existence of beta products, a kind of vaporware that is almost solid. There is a Vaporware Hall of Shame for games software.

    This game will probably have a delay, that is if Blizzard ever gives a release date. But it won't be canceled. Go back to what ever game it is that you want to play and don't bother us here while we discuss our game.

    Having played the stress test alone i will say that this game will be released right on time.  I was amazed at how well the game played at the point i played it, which was now almost a month ago.  WoW is more done than 99% of mmorpgs when they are released.  So basically what im saying is that they could have released it 2 months ago and it would have had a more successful launch than any other mmorpg to date. thats just my opinion from the stress test though.

    oh and btw, no official release date, but in the blizzard financial report they stated that it would be released on the 15th of november.  Of course that is subject to change, but nonetheless the company has set a date of sorts.

    lol wtf are u talkin about? they are basiclly done with the game, and if there missing a few things then they can just add them after release, it is a mmorpg, and no one has the right to call someone an idiot that is just uncalled for. image i cant wait for it to come out image

    Untrue, ALL the classes have been in the game since alpha, the only thing that's keeping blizzard from releasing this game now, is talant tree's for a couple different classes, and a few other minor things.

    Altogether, this game compared to other MMO releases in the past, is going to be the cleanest release ever, mark my words.

Vaporware is truely defined by 1 word, Dawn. Dawn was a game that was supposed to come out.. had screenshots, had all this stuff planned out, but it was never even developed. It was just an idea. Some group of kids were making renders and they used them as screenshots. That's pretty much the best way to describe vaporware. And.. Duke Nukem whatever, that one that was supposed to come out like 7 years ago, but.. didnt. But now its being worked on.

    I spent a week in the Stress Test Beta and in my opinion the game is close to final release.  I know at that at time they still had to build some more high level zones and the talents for some of the classes were not done, but what I saw was very polished and ready to go.

    With Blizzard announcing sign-ups for open Beta, my projection is that it will launch around the time EB predicts.

    Closed beta through the end of October, Open Beta the first few weeks of November, and launch sometime before Thanksgiving.

    WoW is NOT Duke Nukem Forever. That is definately vaporware ( software that does not exist). Lets think about this, Fileplanet gave out 100 thousand keys for the stress test, I know, I played and tested it for 10 days. Blizzard is one of, if not the best game development house in existence. Their games are always bug free and fun.

    Blizzard just announced that open beta is very soon, I'm guessing in the next week or so. Open beta only occurs when the game is done. It's used for stress testing and marketing purposes. The beta stage I tested was good enough for pay to play already.

    I think the original posters brain is "vaporware"............. ::::12::
