While you're welcome to your own personal opinions, I want to take issue with being called lazy.
I work a full time job, I have a serious girlfriend and while I really do love MMOs, I have interests outside of these games. As a result, I don't have time for hardcore raiding and the like. That doesn't make me lazy. It makes me well rounded.
As to the shot at parents... WTF?
Iif you want to make your point, you could probably do it like a grown up without calling people names and attacking their parents.

I agree, the attack was just childish. Most people looking to get away from hardcore raiding games are NOT looking for "easy mode", they just want something that fits their lifestyle. Personally, I'm sick and tired of people expecting me to schedule my entire life around the guild's raiding schedule.

I have WAY too many important things to be doing, and I can't be bothered to schedule my game time. I just want to log in and play the stupid game when I have some free time. If people think that makes me "lazy" then I think people need to take a good, long look at their priorities.

As for the accusation of games "handing everything to us", I very much disagree. If anything, they are trying more and more to force players into spending their entire lives in these treadmills, which has caused me to quit WoW yet again (after having just resubscribed last week in anticipation of the expansion, no less!) after reading the changes that were being made to not only raiding but PvP as well. Separate badges for each level of raid? 25-man loot is superior to 10-man loot? Enforced Arena personal rating on EVERY piece of PvP gear? It's not we, the gamers, who are lazy, it's the developers. Rep/arena/badge grinds and repeatable content are easier than coming up with a genuinely fun game.

Person A, likes the colour blue

Person B, likes the colour red

Person C, likes the colour black

Person D, likes the colour green

Don't force a person who likes another colour to favour your own....

Yet we all do anyway, and none are innocent on that particular matter.

You it the nail on the head Stradden. As a former EQ raider, I can definately tell you it takes much more effort to maintain a vigirous real life then it is to do well at the end game of a MMORPG.  I like the fact now I can log onto my game of choice, play for 2-3 hours a few times a week, and actually complete something.  If WoW never cattered to the casual crowd, MMORPGS would of never gained the attention and popularity that they have now.  But of course with going "mainstream", so to say, there are positives and negatives.  As I've always said, I play games to have fun, and weither I play casual or hardcore, it does not nullify my opinion nor makes the current "hardcore" playerbases' opinion any more valid or invalid.

I do feel a bit sorry for you, Skeptical, if your parental units forced you to play candyland for 40+hrs a week until you were able to legitamately beat them.

Really, the reason people make such negative posts is because you guys are selfish asshats. All you care about is that there's a game for you, while all the people that want depth and challenge in a game are left with nothing but EVE. If you don't like EVE (for whatever personal reason), but you want depth, immersion and challenge...you're shit out of luck.

People want games like WAR to fail, because it's just another game based on the same philosophies as WoW: simple, easy, accessible to everyone.

If people had more options, they wouldn't care about your stupid shallow game where you pretend you're good at "PvP" and claim "innovation" for over glorified grinds like PQ's.

What a crock of Bullshitt. Really, completely. A hugely subjective outlook touted as some sort of fact. Realize you are a minority, sorry, but its true, the genre has transcended gamers who have 40+ hours a week to do corps runs and other things people like you tout as a "Challenge".

I know what you’re going to say, and just about every single thing you would list as ways to make things a "Challenge" are going to be complete and utter time sinks, and ONLY use large amounts of time as a barrier to entry.

To say there are no "Hardcore" as i am sure you will call yourself, games out there is a completely false. Because every single one that you are going to list is still running, just on a skeleton crew, with no funding, and a tiny, niche population.

There is a game for everyone, you should find it, play it, and be content on showing the 5 others that also play it your "Uber gear" and tell them stories about how long it took you to offline train grind earn for it.

You don’t have to like every game out there, no one is forcing you.

It’s also quite funny you attack me, and point your entire subjective rant at me, when all of my comments were not about any game at all, but in fact, forums in general.

Thank you for making my point.

I was just about to post something along this line.

Back when we had all these "complex" and "challenging" games everyone complained about time sinks. And now that games came out and removed said timesinks, people complain there to easy. Which actualy means I cant feel uber by spending more time in a game more than the other guy.

When I was little, ya i didnt mind the timesinks but now that I have a family; I just want to have fun.

Cant you all just wait for Darkfall. Thats ur grail after all. Imo itll turn out just like EVE, a small community game.  Why do you think no one invests in the thing.

Im having alot of fun so far, havnt even loaded TF2 since Ive been playing (alot of people ive met in WAR play that game too).

I havnt gotten to the cities yet or even done any rvr dungeons (everyone just wants to kill each other). Theres alot in this game but its mostly action oriented content. Which is fine for me, I never enjoyed wasting time finding the right group or the right guild (AoC) to play the game. Or grinding ingredients and playing economics to sell imaginary items.

I just want to have fun.

.........People may complain if they pay first like 50 euro and then a monthly fee for a game that isn't finished.........

I also look forward to trying out darkfall. As far as the hype, that will change when its released, and the next game in development is now hyped, thats just how it roll on this site.Even Dark and light had a huge hype , we all know how that turned out. Darkfall has a lot to overcome if its to succeed in this market, it may sustain its self, but those looking for the next big thing are going to be disappointed, for the same reason i stated. Typically, PvP games, and those with more old school rule sets, do not fair well.

But the game will be a niche title.

You do know Forum users are a minority in the gaming market right. And hell I remember when Shadowbane was hyped up as the holy grail and also carried the vaporware tag. Wasnt it also by a indie developer?
