Go and look at your fighting speed, the unresponsive control of your avatar and the clunky combat in general.
Now start up a BG in Wow - ANY level.
And see the difference in SPEED, CONTROL, ANIMATION, lag-free avatar  PvP swiftness.
How can you make a PvP/RvR game which lacks everything in PvP fights the leader off this industry offers.
Terrible, only the ones that - for some reason or another - are blinded by Wow hate,  don't seem to notice the obvious.
PvP for slowly handicapped - with lag - that's the picture of the tactical finesse in War.

Many people are still looking for the RVR; maybe that's why it wasn't mentioned.

Then they aint looking good enough, or don't know where to look. I've been in t1 and t2 battles a few times and the experience is thrilling. Never have I seen semi-big battles like this going on, not even in WoW. I've seen zergs, but when each side is trying to zerg eachother you need some strategy, hitting key targets and using assist alot. PvP is just play fun in WAR, even the scenarios is fun, even though some of them are a knockoff from WoW(which copied EQ, which copied blablabla ad nauseum), but some are brand, spanking new, or variations of exsisting types of pvp gameplay.

The moment you stop trying to play this as WoW(solo experts) is the moment you start enjoying it. Atleast that's my experience. I too was a little frustrated at first when I though the witch elf would own as much as my rogue did in WoW, or my squig herder would solo as well as my hunter did in WoW.

Groups are the key to this game, and I still see people ingame not getting this, soloing in PQ's being one good example, another is trying to rambo it out in scenarios. Just doesn't work.

Go roll on a low pop server before you think you know what people are talking about.

    Soloing isn't an option--it's often forced. ;)

And don't bother responding that people need to reroll to high pop. That much is obvious, just as obvious as how broken this game is with anything less than high pop realm.

Well, I'm not saying the game got problems, the biggest being realm balance and low pop servers. Mythic is trying to remedy it, but I dunno how successful it will be. Even though 20% more xp/reknown is a little tempting I wont be rerolling my toon on another server just cause it got low pop, and I think neither will anyone else.

All that remains now, is wait and see. I hope the game will be successful enough to keep it going. On that matter, seeing lower sales and xfire numbers don't say squat, especially xfire numbers. That program is optional and therefore not a good source for the official numbers. Another good reason is that right now there is only 257,524 out of 11,384,425 registered users online. Hardly a good cut from the gaming community, on a time that is to be considered prime time gaming hours.

The lower sales are to be expected after the first salefrenzy is over. The cancelations are from people who wont renew their account after they tried it the first free month. Bound to happen with any new game or expansionpack, yes, even WotLK will see this. Alot of people are burnt out on WoW, and will outlevel the expansionpack in less than a week, get bored and cancel again.

On how broken the game is, that is a matter of personal taste. Game got problems but come on, game hardly a month old now. Give it time. People still stick around with SWG, AoC, VG and all the other 'failures' out there. I still got an active account in Anarchy Online, one of the biggest failures when it come to launch problems ever released.

If it's so obvious why people should roll on med/high servers then why don't they? I will tell you why. They expect this game to play as WoW do and think they will be solo kings, therefore population doesn't matter to them. Then dissapointment will hit them square in the jaw and they will come over here to troll the game cause it doesn't play like WoW.

It's fairly obvious that many of you didn't read my post prior to the one this quote is taken from.

There I detail how I, with only one other person, began what turned into a warband vs. warband in Tier 1 battlefields.

If you cannot find just one person to go RvR with,  that is a pretty low population server. It's apparently just you in your Tier.

I've got problems with the population as well, and I'm on a full server. Even when I have to queue up before I can play I have to be lucky to get into some outdoor RvR action. I've literally been around the entire Dwarf and Elven RvR zones without seeing a single other player. There are often groups of (order) players around the empire RvR zone, but usually there's a lack of destruction players. While it's easy to get into the Nordenwatch scenario, that gets pretty boring when you do it more then just a few times in a night mo. Other scenarios are rarely played.

Even on a low population server, if you are capturing control points left and right with a partner, pretty soon you will have at least 1 group of the opposing faction trying to stop you. As points bounce back and forth and messages are spammed throughout the land, you will develop recruits.

This has worked for me on my high pop server which resulted in Warbands fighting each other. This has happened on my low pop server which resulted in 2 opposing groups fighting each other.

I've seen this happen, but it seems more of an exception then the rule at my server. Usually some enemy players show up, but it's rarely balanced (even if the entire server is full). We generally end up fighting around the destruction camp, with people only dying from siege weapons.

In both cases, my side was not the dominant. I play Order on Destruction dominant server, I play Dest on an Order dominant server.

Because I play on a low population for one of my servers, so I do know what I'm talking about.  In fact my highest char is on that low population server. I have experienced engaging RvR there, and could every time I log on if I chose.  But it doesn't fall into my lap very often, I make it happen - which is half the fun.

They have made it very easy to start RvR. It takes as little as one other group member. Show initiative and you will be surprised at the results.

I agree with a lot of what the OP has to say. WAR isn't a bad game, but its the same tired old formula that has been released over and over - no skill pvp/boring grind.

The RVR is pretty good, but it practically always boils down to zerg tactics where the bigger side wins.

So until then, you're going to hang out and insult those of us who do like the game?

I get that you're not having fun in the game. I get that you're personally frustrated about what you consider to be a lack of depth and challenge (I happen to disagree with you, but I can see where you're coming from). I don't get how that gives you and others like you the right to insult others who don't share your opinions. Doesn't make any sense to me.

If you all you want to see is "WARHAMMER IS GREAT" posts/threads then go ahead and tell me. Then I (and others) can leave this supposed "discussion" forum and find a real forum board. In the meantime, as long as the WAR fans are going to be assuming assholes to everyone that doesn't love this game, I'm going to make an ass out of them.

Oh, and by the way, thanks for completely disregarding the first part of that post. I mean, it's not like it was an answer to your question or anything.

There is a difference in discussing why the game is bad, and just plain trolling and insulting the fans. WoW get that ALOT, and now WAR seems to be the new kid everyone fancy stepping on.

Why should you make an ass out another who flame you? Ever heard of the forumterms flamebait, trolling and offtopic? If you reply to a person trolling you and troll them back, you're no better than they are and is just cluttering the thread with useless posts. This forum need stronger moderation it seems. Some rules about flames, trolling and baits would be a good start. Reading all the stuff going on on these forums it really seem they need them.
