..ever wonderd that.
in every mmo when you kill a mob(non humenoid) it usually drops money...
why on earth would an animal drop money ^^
no mmorpg has really noticed that ^^...or just botherd to fix it ^^

That's not the case in LOTRO, only the humanoid types do.
And in SoTNW, no one drops money. But what i find funny is they drop food. Particularly amusing are the skeletons that drop beef.

They dont always drop money. Sometimes they drop swords, hammers, armour, mushrooms, fine clothes, figurines, bits of cooked food, jewelry, helmets, dyes, books, scrolls, meat from other animals, cutlery and......lots of other fascinating goodies.
I think some of the more well hidden ones carry bits of houses, wagons, aeroplanes, furniture and other assorted items but I reckon these are very rare drops.
I did wonder initially why this generally occurred but I didnt ponder it for too long because I rapidly reached the conclusion that the answer is simply that mmos are shit.

In EVE they have 'bounties' which is a bit more logical.

That they are, and while they might not always be able to take down a full grown human, they could still have eaten the the purse while scavaging a corpse.
It isn't real coin. Its foil wrapped chocolates! Thats why the animals eat it. Everyone and thing loves chocolate! Oh and the foil prevents digestion.
I didnt think you had to hunt down ANIMALS in EVE.......at least thats not what I remember when i played it. Do you meet some that are flying their own spaceships later in the game then? If you do then the fact that they are carrying money can easily be explained by the fact that they are advanced enough to be flying a ship. Their money could also be stored in the cargo hold of their ship.
Actually this would be a great addition to EVE. As well as human pilots you could choose from advanced forms of Aadvark (bonuses to the use of tractor beams), Badgers (armour bonuses) and Pigmy Shrews (they could only fly frigates but they get insane speed bonuses)
I'll tell you were the animal got the money if you explain to me were he was hiding the six foot long polearm i looted off it.

I remember a time when I had to collect 5 animal hides in a forest and after twenty full minutes of slaughter all I got a magic wand, a sword, a bag, and a peice of bread and just thought to myself "God is this poop!".

more than why animals have gold in them is how do the characters stuff in millions of gold in their purses? i guess its one of the cliches so to speak in rpgs. ive read it somewhere ages ago. cant seem to remember where but the list they gave about rpg cliches was very funny but at the same time very true.

Yeh and how come if I'm doing a quest and need like a animal claw and they have like 10 or so then why doesn't several drop each kill? I mean most the time none drop and it's like I SEE THE CLAWS RIGHT THERE FFS!
There like 4 on each foot so for a 10/10 quest one furry is enough LOL. Maybe thats what they got from other heroes who died in battle.

Do you not play vanguard ? With all your posts on the vanguard forums about the ugly character models you would think you would know that only humaniods drop money in vanguard . So guess that makes LoTR second.
