pre order poll

ElElyonElElyon Member UncommonPosts: 219

just curious, how many people have pre-ordered the game, this only counts for people who arnt in Beta. Cuz then you know if the game is worth it or not. So only people who havent played the game yet.

So....have you put up your cash yet?

Oh, I thought of something else. If you havent ordered it yet. Why not?

your obviously interested in the game if you bother reading these posts. So what is it that prevents you from pre-ordering it? let us know why you are holding back...

I just ordered it two days ago.

I ordered it a long time ago. I think the reason why people wait is because sometimes its faster to get it from your local store instead of paying for shipping then having to wait.

I'd much rather take the satisfaction of being able to finally stroll down to that local game store, see the game on the shelf and grab it for myself.  I hate having crap mailed to me, especially things I've spent waiting for.. for a long time.

This is kind of corny, but I just thought of it and I think it makes sense.  Another reason is that I like to keep the box's intact.  That means not having the corners damaged and all... at least let me wreck them on my own.  Mailing can be harsh image

I think that makes sense goob, good point.

yes, i also like to go out to the store and pick it up myself, i hate waiting around wondering if something is going to show up or not in the mail.

Ive never had a crushed box from ebgames, also quite a few years ago they came out with these things called tracking numbers.  See what you do is when you order they give you a "tracking number" and you type it into the ups or fedex website and it shows you where the package is and when its supposed to be delivered.  Its really pretty handy - no more wondering when your package is going to show up :)

I'd have to agree with Goob. I can get really picky about which box I select off the shelf.

Plus, I have yet to receive a pre-order on release day so I decided never to pre-order again unless there is a really hugh incentive for doing so. And ive already seen the character creation at a friends house so im satisfied.

This just means that I will be using my lunch break again to make another trip to the mall and not having to wonder if the game was stolen off my doorstep before I reach home. ::::07::

I preordered from Gamestop. They always send in nice boxes, and I have never had a damaged game/box/anything from them. And the 3 day shipping is good for me because I will likely be out of town the first day or two of the game release.

Unless, of course, they release it early :)

For some reason.... Maybe lack of competition or something, my local Game Stop store SUCKS!

For example, if a game is released on 15 November, those wonderful people wouldn't get it until 17 or even 18 November...  Thats just not acceptable.

So, I pre-order and have it next day shipped to my door.  Yep, I pay a bit more for it, but waiting 2 more days just doesn't cut it...

I agree Rillen, I do the next day air thing too.

I also have a fear that the store will be sold out when i get there, especially huge games like this, where there might be a line out the door to get the game and there are already 100 pre-orders in that store and I hate waiting in line :) I would rather pay an extra 12 bucks to have it next day air delivered to my apartment.

also i am really suprised by this poll, I really thought the "no's" would be the majority.

Pre-Ordered in July from EB.  I have never had any trouble from them getting games the same day they of release.

Yep i know what you mean. When i pre ordered Horizons from Gamestop they didn't get the game till a few days after the game was released. All my friends were playing but i was still waiting for it to show up. Lemme tell you those 2 days of waiting seemed like years.::::27::

I was torn too alerum :) what turned me was the housing aspect, both eq2 and wow are pretty similar, but eq2 has a lot more options I really like creating new characters and trying them out and wow only had a few options. and the housing on eq2 looked cool, im gonna try to get my wife to be a crafter and i will provide gold for her. So she can decorate our little house and i can go out and kill stuff:)
So the option to have my wife play with me was really cool.

i got dicked on my pre order, i pre ordered on gamestop.com during the summer. i went to school in august and i called to see if i could change my shipping address, because the shipping address was my house.  the guy on the phone said  that he couldnt change my shipping address because it was different from my billing, and now, i have to wait for it to get mailed to my house and then wait for my parents to mail it to me at school. im so pissed.

Can you cancel and reorder? I guess if they already sent you the bonus cd then you can't cancel.. man, that blows. I just find it hard to believe they won't let you change that. I mean, what if you moved??

I agree with you about the depth of eqII. they only thing realy attracting me to WoW right now is the PvP. I mainly PvE in anygaem but i like the option to PvP if i feel like it.

I live in austria. I preordered so i can play a few days after release. If i order when it'S out the small imprted contingets are bought out sometimes.

  • ArabellaArabella Member Posts: 6

I would have pre-ordered it the moment it was available, had I the funds. However, my birthday just passed and my spouse still has yet to give me a present.. soooooooooooo we'll see ;)

  • MorydinMorydin Member UncommonPosts: 78
You know that you can just walk into your local electronics Boutique or Gamestop and put a $5 deposit on it and go pick it up as soon as the game is released. I personally got mine at gamestop. They even said that they would call me the night before the game comes out. And on top of that I got a free EQ2 hat.... not that I would ever wear that... in fact even though I'm a fan I would most likely feel compelled to beat up anyone I saw wearing an EQ2 hat!  LOL

I pre ordered when the FREE, which it should be, pre-order disc was mentioned. I'll end up getting it a day before release due to the date gameplay.co.uk send them out (2 days before the game is due on the shelfs due to the post in the UK taking between one and two days for first class depending on the area).
