As far as I was concerned, that's the biggest flop and reason I didn't play give L2 and FFXI a chance (besides their other problems, which just added), was the severe lack of character customization. If I am to spend months to years playing a character, I sure want to customize the hell out of that character at the start. Adding faces or customization features months after release does no one any good except late-adopters.

I agree I'm not even sure Blizzrd even looks at these forms...? I Really hope they do...cause i want more from Character customization!
Yes, but EQ2 will be out in just over a month--two months tops. Who knows when Wish will be out.
EDIT: Not that this is justification to blow your wad on EQ2, but if you need something to play and it fits the bill mostly, might as well. Plus you may not miss the lack of PvP with all the other stuff it's going to have.

You're probably right about EQ2, unfortunately. But god help SOE if they decide to do so.

That is a possibility (noticed it while messing with my human mage looks during the stress test). It just depends on the race you choose I guess. That said more choices would be great. I ended up deleting my gnome warlock because every other gnome I saw had the balding hair with curly moustache.

Rofl You see Blizzard...theres people out there want more choices!
The very first paid-for expansion will have "increased character customization options". Since they won't be made available retroactively to your existing characters if you really want a "new" look you will need to roll a new character...

not so seriously...
In addition they will have a percentage-based optimization choice for key aspects of the body. You choose a number between 1 and 100.
e.g.
Night Elf Female
Bottom:
1. Level of Roundness (Flat) 1-----------50-------X----100 (Baby Got Back)
2. Hardness (Jello) 1-----------50-------------100 (acts as a 10 point damage shield against rogue backstab)
3. Agility (No butt tricks) 1-----------50-----------100 (can flex each cheek independently)
Breast:
1. Size ( ) 1----------50-------------100 ( note: at max setting the NE female will take 3 health damage per second when running and vision is obscured)
2. Hang (high and tight)1-----------50----------100 (don't trip!)
3. Hardness 1----------50---------100 (can crack a walnut in there)
From my extensive delving into the closed beta forums and various other sources I've come to a conclusion.
Blizzard stated they are not currently looking into more character customization features.
Stop making useless posts like these and asking if we (the community) want more character customization options. Blizzard KNOWS that the community at large wants more customization features and will most likely look into it after they get the game released and fully polished to an extent.
Edit: It's been stated that we want more character customization on the the beta forums more times then enough.
character cuztomization will lag the game. it will make almost imposible to play on 56k. I totally disagree with the idea of customizing the characters in such games as WoW, EQ2, DnL etc. If you think it is a good idea then you are wrong beacause it is still future with all these slow modems it is almost imposible to play games with such customization of your character. Also it will slow down your PC in very populated areas such as Stormwind and actually if everybody from the server will meet at the same place your PC would just crash. Ofcourse it is not likely to happen but keep it in mind.
That's what a good LOD system is for. Put priority on those closest to you; for the rest of them just show the features that stand out the most, like being fat or tall...

56k Users should not be permitted to play MMORPGs. I'm not being biased towards them but it is detrimental to the other players around them.
In one instance I was playing another mmo and there was a user who was an avid pvper. He'd get into all kinds of fights and that's where the problems arose. When fighting a 56ker or "SUPER OMFG LAGGER YOU SUCK REPLACE THE HAMPSTER IN YOUR WOODEN MODEM YOU PIECE OF CRAP BASTARD!" there is a factor of packets. 56ker's packets arrive to the server slow. My packets go fast. Therefore his position/life/mana/status/etc. may be different on my screen then it is on his. This can be detrimental to either the 56ker or average mmo gamer. I'm sure that there are many others who can corraborate my story to an extent.
you should consider that most internet users are 56k'ers. Big companies such as AOL and NetZero are making money on their software by providing 56k access to the internet. I can asure you that most current mmorpg players are 56ker as I am. and do you know why? because it is free (for me at least). ))) and Blizzard won't make game for T1, Cable and other high letancy players because they would just loose more then half of their incoming. Remember it is all about the money. ))
Hmm, "most users" are like my Grandma who don't play MMOGs. But you are right, they are on 56k. Most MMOG-playing friends I have are on some sort of broadband. It takes an enthusiast to handle the density of a MMOG and they usually have broadband.
You can bet the minute customer expectations demand more and broadband has proliferated enough on the demographic studies, they will quickly forget about you. You are expected to pay to upgrade your computer to play the newest MMOGs. It will be only a matter of time before you are expected to upgrade your connection as well to play them.

Ok I'm going to take into consideration that your wee feeble little mind only considered the demographics and statistics, which I think are merely your opinion with no fact behind them, of America.
I know for a fact that the majority of Canadian internet users are on broadband or cable. How do I know? I'm a tech support agent for a Canadian ISP. I think it's quite humorous that American's, who think we all live in igloos and don't have running water/electricity, are much less "wired" then we are here.
Now on to the above mentioned AOL and Netzero. You do realize that these companies are the primary dial up providers within America. Anyone who is stupid enough to subscribe through either shouldn't even attempt to consider the concepts of an "MMORPG." It'd boggle their mind. They might even have their head explode. Who knows?

Go for EQ2 in that case.. there you can customize your character enough to look like yourself..
But im still going for WoW.. Because i dont mind if they do or do not implement more character cusomization, im gonna love the game anyhow..

Anyone played Tiger Woods 2005 yet? Holy crap, talk about customization. We could only dream of something like that in a MMOG.

56k? They have that still?
