Its fun when it's in the cities, but people take it too far and bring it to lowbie quest zones, it was stressful even with RAF to get to 30 today with people bringing it to XR/FWP... hopefully no one is silly enough to bring it to where im questing now.

Point is, It supposted to be the invasion on the main cities, not the lowbie quest zones.

Currently restarting World of Warcraft :/

I think that was Blizzard's intention. But it's spread all over. Winterspring is unplayable. Not a NPC in sight. It really has gotten out of hand and it's going to cost Blizzard a lot of money from subscriptions, at least in the short run.

If this is really stressing you out either leave WoW, don't play during this period or get a sense of humour. This is only gonna happen once, so you might as well make the most of it.

I've actually had a lot of fun with the event so far.  Kind of reminds me of LotR's Monster Play.

Once you accept that you are going to play a zombie, it's a lot more fun.

  • zagreoszagreos Member Posts: 53

its seems people want to do the same thing over and over. common now an event liek that doesnt happen every day. it won't happen again next year or anytime after that so enjoy it. Honest I said I would quit like 100 times and never did so did many people i know.

I'm loving the event. I figure that the people who say they are leaving over this event are the instant gratification whiners who want is and want it now. Those are the types I'd rather not play with.

Played: Runescape, World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

I like the concept and I understand what they are trying to do.  But it is annoying as hell.  I for one am on a pve server if I wanted all out pvp warfare I would log on a pvp server.  But with that said it is very easy to avoid.  Stay out of the major cities, and the heavily played areas.  There are tons of areas where there is no sign of zombies so I think they are purposely pushing people out of the major cities for whatever reason I don not know.

And yes playing an alt is just frustrating for now.  What I do is help the low level through instances that aren't frequented and it has been kinda fun.  Stockades is a bust if your setting up just haul ass you may making then again you may not.

I have a feeling that a lot of the posters here are Blizzard Employees posting with personal accounts attempting to defuse the situation.  Indeed Blizzard had made a HUGE MISTAKE.

I lead a 40+ player guild who all are required to use Ventrilo.  I can say that 75% of our members are outraged at this event.  A lot of our players want to level to 70 before the expansion and can't .

Also.  many of us have decided to move on to other games, yet a # of them simply can't access their account information.  They can not connect to the pages on the WoW web site where people cancel their monthly subscriptions.

This is an obvious attempt to allow time for people to cool down.  Blizzard knows how much time they make us spend on our toons and the psychology involved with that much time and attention invested.  They are reasonably assume that people will be angry for now and continue to play.

Well i can say this.  I will not be buying WOTLK.  After being told by 100 GMs, incapable or unwilling to address whatever issue it was at the time, that they wish Epics would fall on me like rain, I believe they mean that in a literal sence and honistly wish Maces Daggers Swords and Axes would fall on my Real life body for all the love we actually recieve from them.

Blizzard is happy with 9 million players paying $15 monthly.  Do the math.

I will not be missed by Blizzard and i know it.  However im sure there are smaller companies who would be happy to enjoy my monthly payments.

P.S.  I  WAS  able to cancel my subscription.   Goodbye Blizzard.  Your game sorta rocks but YOU SUCK!!!

    You guys are whiners.

Its irritating, but it hasnt shut down the whole game.

At most its been First- Amusing, and then annoying.

I havent heard anyone say they were going to quit the game because of this. I dont think it will even make a "DENT" in the player base. Who are you kidding. It wont make a scratch in the player base.

Heres whats so amazing....you say you like the game so much...but you will quit the game after one annoying event?

An event mind you that will end SOON.

I dont beleive you will leave for good. At worst your coming back in a month, buying WOTLK and getting your fix like a good obedient mmo junky.

    See ya soon :)

I highly doubt anyone from bliz has come here to diffuse anything.

    IMO your all overreacting.

ITT: people who can't remove the stick from their arse.

Its a fun event, your so used to being uptight any little things bothers you.  In mmo's things like this should happen, it keeps the world fresh and fun, if you can't handle that go back to single player games, nobody will miss your ass when you quit.

Dynamic World = Zombies = Whining therefore Dynamic World = Whining is so far what I've gotten out of player response to The Infection '08. Something came along that disrupted their playing, the same monotonous playing that we've had for 1.5 in BC and almost 4 Classic years, and all they can do is whine rather than join in and enjoy it while it lasts(note rue and true newbies to wow if there are any left need not apply, i suggest you try again in 2 weeks everythings better for lowbies w/ out zombies.). Consider this, if there weren't any zombies, what would most be doing? Sitting in the cities crying about the boredom. This is blizzards way of spicing up the last days before an expansion. Its them saying, hey BC is almost over, quit working for stuff and go crazy.  In two weeks give or take thisll be all over and everything will be back to normal. Enjoy it while it lasts, hey maybe play Resident Evil:Warcraft for a bit, and then do something else. But back to dynamic world, the whole point of a dynamic world is that things change and stuff happens that disrupts the world. Perhaps not at this level but its the same general principal. Based on the response to this(both the whines and the bastards abusing zombies) the maturity level in wow isn't high enough for extra ordinary happenings. People cry about how unchanging the world is and then it goes wacko and they freak more.

On a different tone they should have made Battlemasters, Auctioneers, Innkeepers(Hallow's End), Flight Masters, and Bankers immune. Those are the ones hurting the most, with them immune I bet 90% of the complaints would go bye-bye, and honestly its what should have been done. Then the basic functions of the end game world could go on. There are too many quest npcs to make them immune, that would make it retarded. But the fact is they aren't immune, so deal with it.

You wanted an event for wrath, early, you got one, then you started complaining about it.

I highly doubt that anyone on this forum could do a better event.

Now that is the point.  If I am giving the option to play a zombie, cool.  Unfortunately, many people were not interested in playing that, and they are NOT paying to play a zombie.

Yes there are calls for changes for new events.  Blizz tried and this one looks a bit too much.  People expressed opinions, which can be useful feedback for Blizz.  Why can't people express upsets when they are upset?

Forcing a certain game play on players is not a wise move.  Forcing such a disruption to the normal gameplay is not wise.  I do not want to go to any towns now.  I have to fly over the town and watch before I land.  I dare not hearth, who knows what I am going to hearth into.  Getting transformed into a zombie when I was planning to restock and join a raid or go help a friend in urgent need ("we spawned the boss and we got spanked, we want help before he despawns") is not a fun thing.  Not in my dictionary.

Now that does not mean Blizz is bad.  They tried, and many times in the past, their ideas are fine.  This time, something does not work out so well.  So an issue to look into next time they plan on a new twist.  No need to be so defensive, and certainly no ground for objecting to the negative comments from unsatisfactory customers.

Well maybe it will make about 100 people that were about to quit anyway, to do it a bit sooner because of the event. Or 1000. Out of milions. And let me tell you something, a friend that started playing wow, is loving it and telling all his friends how awsome wow is. So go figure...

Its not really that big of a deal.

Where Im leveling my nyb druid...I dont see it.

If Im on my rogue and grinding a bit of honor for shits and giggles, I can stay away from teh zombies for the most part.

Ever so often teh zombies kill all the bg masters but they come back quick.

And ive died about 5 or so times and had to run back but who cares. Not really that big of a deal to me. Not a big enough thing that Id quit.

This isnt the period of a game (swg and ultima come to mind) where people say "Yeah the game was fun till the zombie event". Its going to end. Its not permanent. And even though its for wotlk it sure fits into the whole halloween them they have going on right now.

I seriously doubt this will affect subscriptions at all.

I haven't played wow or any other mmo for months now but this actually sounds somewhat interesting within what is the tedium of wow.

No one believes WoW will fail because of this event.  But pointing out that the execution of this idea does not work out perfectly is a perfectly welcoming move.  I have come across enough unhappy players to note that not everyone welcome the way the event is implemented.   Pointing this out is not a crime.

  • SharajatSharajat Member Posts: 926

You know occasionally there's threads on this forum about how WoW never does anything original.  Anything different.  Sticks to the same formula.

And then they turn the game into a frikkin amazing survival horror game and all they get is QQ.

Yeah.  Why don't people stop blaming blizzard?  They've clearly figured out what more than 10 million people enjoy, and it ain't originality.

What happened is players and npc's were turning into zombies. Orgrimmar got infected so much on the server I play on that you couldn't even run to the Flight Path without turning into a zombie and dieing. It's kind of funny in a way because there are dead skeleton corpses everywhere. The only pace I could find solace was in Silvermoon City. It hasn't been infected much at all.
I wonder if Blizzard really knew what was going to happen. But the game is mostly unplayable now until the event goes away.

Aye, this zombie event is an utter load of crap, i have to agree with you there. My account ran out just before this event started and i had already saifd i will be back after WotLK comes out and not before. (glad i made that decision). A m8 isnt going to continue either, the event has put him off now. He even had me log-into his account hjust to see what it was like and how screwed up it was. Created a new character on 4 differant PvE servers (yes PvE) and you was dead before you had even loaded your character onto your screen at a newbie starting zone. After rezzing you was instantly killed again without even having the opportunity to blink. After 5 deaths i went onto a differant server with teh exact same thing happening.

Mentioned this load of bollocks in general chat on his main server and was told starter and low level zones are immune and cannot be done with this event. After 10 mins 3 came back and agreed with me. Blizard really screwed up on this one.

Another thing is why the hell did they release a 1.64gb patch file like this anyways, when 95-98% of it was unusable anyways, you still require the goddamn expansion to use these features. Has to be one of the biggest f-ups blizard has done. The last person i have known for a couple of yrs has now also sent me an e-mail via MSN saying after the patch, a ballocksed up event and what he considers a not very impressive upcomming expansion, he is going to not bother getting WotLK at all and is really starting to think about going for warhammer. This now would leave me with not many peeps i know in game anymore, even though i have WotLK on pre-order, i find myself now wondering do i cancel or still get it. TBH i really do not know what to do myself.

If someone can confirm the actuall FACT of the monthly Warhammer Online Subscriptional price for the UK, i wopuld be grateful. A friend plays it (but he also pays for 2 other online games) and has said warhammer only cost him £8.99 UK (but he cannot 100% confirm this). The website says £10.31 (£12.50 with v.a.t added) which is too much, the 60 day gamecard is £26-£27 which works out at £13.50) which is also 1 big rip-off too. So unless i have further confirmation on what it actually is, i wont be bothering going to it, and join some x-warcraft friends there). With them also gone from warcraft too, do i stay with that ior do i just fade away from online games till something new comes out?

No one will quit over it.

The fact that WoW is level based is glaring during this event.  Low level players can't take part in the event because they are one shot killed both as a PC and as a PC zombie.  They can't hurt zombies that are levels above them because they miss with every shot.

    What's fun about that?

Either lowbies should be made into level 70 zombies so at least they can have fun and take part in the event as a zombie or Blizzard should of made a special zombie level where they do a % of damage to the HP of whoever they attack and are hurt by a % of damage when they get attacked all based on the level of the person they are attacking or getting attacked by.  So a low level mage hits a zombie for the same damage as a high level mage.

It's a really great idea for an event but they are leaving some players on the sidelines and that's a big mistake.
