Do we have any obligation to tell a business how and when they are to release information on thier still unreleased product and which channel to choose for it? I stand in disbelief when I see people talking about freeedom and censorship when it comes to a company's decision what and how they want to release as inside information on their own product. Of course they are applying their own measurement of whom they trust and what is getting released, it's in theri won best interest.
That doesn't have to mean we will have to bleieve everything word by word that is coming out of it. The only thing it would be able to proove is that there actuylly is a certain state of the game in existance, not more and not less. The rest is an individual decision in reagrds to trustworthiness of the fellow(s) reporting it.
I personally don't see why I should put less trust into the italian number one MMO portal tahn into any other out there on the web. There is nothing like a guarantee for trustworthiness on the internet, and looking closely at the attitude and loss of reality especially in significant parts of the MMO community, I can absolutely understand how Aventurine is acting.
As things are looking like, there is solid indication by now there actually IS a game version, no matter it's state. It's also very likely DF is nothing alike Vaporware.
Does that have to mean it will be a great game and fulfilling on all it's promises made over the course of years? No way it does, it can still be an absolute trainwreck. After all those years of experience in the genre, I'd even say it's very likely many people will be more than disappointed when (if) it's getting released. Most likely this won't be that much because of the game being really that bad (though I wouldn't rule that out), but for what people tend to dream into the title they chose as incarnation of their individual dreams.
One of the problems leading to this effect especially with titles that have a long dev cycle is the host of information that is rangiing thorugh all kinds of ages. People tend to believe devs would make clear when there are changes to functions they described early and get those offline, which they generally don't. The outcome is the one described above, followers construct theri own, individual impression of what the game is like from what is availabe of recent and outdated information alike, leading to partially heavy misconceptions. - Hooray for disillusioned, angry fanbois on a game's launch....this is the group making the most grumpy haters in the end
The bottomline is easy: If reports from some italian webreporters is what we're getting, that's not that bad, is it? I prefer to get information form some fellows that address the game with a rather positive approach than from some who are known to have treated DF as Vapor years ago already any time. I also prefer the impression of those taht tend to treat PvP oriented games at least equally that those of people known for their obvious preference of pure PvE.
We will have no idea as to how accurate the infomation we're getting will be. We will alos have to assume Aventurine will have a word or two in regards to what's getting out intially and what not.

It is just a matter of fact that the mmorpg.com community treated darkfall like a non existent game. Why should Aventurine assume that mmorpg.com is a existant community for their game? It is not!
This site isn't that important for "marketing" of darkfall. Noone on the darkfall forums want to see mmorpg.com fanbois in darkfall. We don't need you. Aventurine does not need you. And at least I don't want you!
