seriosly what makes this game so special?
    1. IP is unknown
    2. all UI interface is same like wow
    3. nothing new in combat. its the same as wow+cabal skill graphics+perfect world aerial combat
    4. graphic is nice=comparable to AOC
So, tell me, why would i play this game over wow.war. or AOC
and one more all of ncsoft game is not great..lineage 2? it suck

Wait for the non-Asian version to be released then play 24/7 for months on end if you want.

Why is that guy posting on here? He has 10 hours to put in today so he had better log on and get questing.

I really wish they did release it here with the 300 hrs a month limit, not that I would ever use 300 hrs in a month anyway but at least it would help with bots.

I cant understand why some people are complaining about this,I mean how many of the people complaining actually play a game for 10 hours a day everday?or is it just the fact you seen something you COULD whine about?

As to the poster that said he goes to bed and leaves his client running, why the hell would you do that if you werent botting?I call BS on that.

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

I don't mind a time limit at all but this is clearly a korea thing only. I played War as much as I was willing to level up to 40 fast, I was the 15th person in my guild of almost 200 to get to 40, it was almost a full months time with the SE early start and I only spent 10 days and 5 hours to get there for that month with head start. 300 hours = 12 and a half days total. So I would be fine with it.

  • fixiffixif Member UncommonPosts: 180

no lifers, and 12year old boys have that much time to play.but as said numerous times.its KOREAN scheme..no european..we dont die from playing mmos and we dont stab ppl for deleting our item (happened in eq),and most of all we dont have 1 000 000 farmers,,but he is rather annoyed that there even is a time limit.personally 300h/months is enaught and probably waaaaay too much, and have the fuck you stay in client over night when in newer games server kicks you out after some afk time? and for the fuck sake,,if you dont like this game stop why do you visit this forum?

Its a korean legal law that states that there will be time limits for there kids. So it only applies to koreans.

Perhaps he has played other Korean mmos where the nly way to sell your wares is to set up a stall? That could be one reason.

And again, it's not going to help with bots. Maybe joe schmoe the casual won't be running a version of Glider, but the goldfarmer/seellers will be running bots as usual. They'll just buy more hours.

And again, this whole thread doesn't matter because there's no way that type of subscription plan would go over with the majority of Western gamers.

You mean like the ones who enter threads solely for the thrill of insulting others while remaining safe behind their keyboard, and type in  chicken scratch with no punctuation and wannabe1337 5p34k? Those are some of the dumbest, I'm sure you've seen a few.

anyone with some common sense would know 13 dollar is cheaper then other mmos because theyr are simply retarded and dont notice the 8.99 from there wow subs then they se 13 and think ZOMG 4 more dollars? they cant tell euros from dollars and go omfg no way and its quite obvious its gameplay time not actual 300 irl hours.... sigh

  • fixiffixif Member UncommonPosts: 180

some1 actually thought its 300 irl hours? fffffs, maybe this game isnt for them

I spent about 6 years stationed in Korea and for the first few years my free time were spent in the PC rooms or at a bar =D A majority if not all mainstream MMO subscriptions are time based. This works well in korea because alot of gamers play in PC rooms and then there is the health hazard.  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4137782.stm there was also another death back in 2002.

if they have to buy more hours then they have to spend more money

if they have to spend more money the gold prices go up

higher gold prices lead to people buying less gold

less gold means less influence on the gameplay of the legit players

    ...

but anyway the game is server based like wow with a limited population per server.

why not set up 2 or 3 servers with a timelimit and make the rest 24/7 playable when obviously methods to kick out and manage players with timelimit alreaddy exist in the core of the game.

as an additional benefit besides the potentially lower number of gold farmers it would benefit parents and people that make a choice to limit their childrens/ their own online time.

and btw its true, the relaxed (limited game time servers) of lineage 2 in korea counted only the time outside save zones so chatting/ setting up shop in a city wouldnt influence ur gametime

The pricing model/limited hours covers NCSoft in the area of certain Asian laws. Botters will still exist and when thier limit is up, they will switch to a different account and keep going.

  • DeliaszDeliasz Member UncommonPosts: 9

Myself I don't really mind 300h/mth. It's no way having a family/social life and play 10h per day...

I know those plans are for South Korea.

Best thing should be paying for how much hours you played in the end of month.

  • OvumOvum Member UncommonPosts: 103

How can you ppl be so blind to see that those 300h are going to be available only for the asian market. If you were aware of the conditions in asia with computer gaming you would already know its for them only. They have serious problems with addiction to computer games... and this is just 1 reason for the time limitation.

I understand that the payment model is more attuned to the Asian markets. However, if I was to hypothise the same system to be used in the Western market, I would have two comments on it.

    • I consider myself a hardcore/casual, in having to work and socialise but still spending a considerable amount of time in front of my computer. 300 per month is double the amount of time I expect myself to game, even if I play 5 hours during week days and 15 hours during weekends (and that's too much).
    • Any kind of limit is bad, because it creates a precedence. It may be 300 for this game, but it may be 200 for the next etc.

Overall, I would wait to see the subscription model for the West before start the murder cries.

  • EphimeroEphimero Member Posts: 1,860

Everyone with a brain on that space the skulls use to have has already realized that this only applies to Korea, and that in Korea it's a common practice.

Now, some others said it would be retarded to have such a limit, I consider myself a hardcore gamer, I do play a lot, but i've never played 300h monthly, I mean, I might play 24 hours without stopping, but I would end up burning myself and I'd eventualy stop playing.

About botterss buying more time, there's no buying more time, you buy 300h for your account, there's no special offer buy 400 and pay 350, you buy 300h for a month, want to pay more than 10h every single day? Buy a second account.

About "leaving your char afk". It's not possible, the game logs you out if you're afk, what are you guys, new to the MMORPG genre? There are stalls in Aion, but there's also a kind of AH every single one has used during the OB, so you don't have to leave your computer on the whole day trying to sell your shit, welcome to 2008.

About the OP not wanting to play, who gives a shit, it's not like if you knew how to read, the real question is, why would I want you to play the same game I play?

This is in Korea! not here... they have this because of their internet cafes! CALM THE HELL DOWN.

BTW, Blizzard put a new limit on World of Warcraft, you can't play more than 720 hours per month.  So there's already precedent.  And since Blizzard is doing it, everyone will be pretty soon.

DARN!!  I was hoping to reach 1000hrs a month, oh well.

It's almost 2010, and I am just not wiling to tolerate clunky graphics while being told that "gameplay is more important than graphics". That excuse won't wash with me any more. I expect my games to have both good graphics and good gameplay.

While the time limit is a little perplexing, I, for one, am glad that they are implementing it. Some say that it will only be done in Korea but I really do think that it should be done for the USA as well.

I mean, this curtails not only bot usage but also gaming addiction. Like many others have asked rhetorically before, who really exceeds 300hours a month anyway? Is that humanly possible and healthy to do so?

I hope they do place the limit into the USA version. It would be a good change.

"Its 10 hours a day.." "Only botters need more then 10 hours a day"

Seriously all of those arguements are stupid, There shouldnt be an additional time limit, what is with these new MMOs offering nothing and trying to get more for it.

sorry mate but you would get timed out of the game for going AFK for so long a period. Log out and let someone else play that is waiting.

the only game i played with a time out WoW and CoH,  with lineage 2 i never was force logged out.

I dont need a tangibile reason to stay logged in, the only reaosn i need is, i dont want to play my game witha  stop clock tallying up my hours for the month for that rare situation when it is the 27th of the month and i have to wait 4 or 5 days to log back in.

I just wont pay for this game, AIon is not going to be some cutting edge revolutionary game to justify the extra hassle. I know most people, like the people definding this nonsense have lower standards then me, but there is no hope for them anyway.

There probably won't be a time limit in NA.

Korea is very different when it comes to video games. There are quite a few articles including the one I have linked below. Playing 10 hours a day doesn't quite sound so bad compared to this guy.
