Um well in the Bible it says its a sin. Where do you think do you think the word Sodomy came from? Sodom maybe? and that city was destroyed. At least thats what I believe the word originated from. Do I hate Gay people? no, but I dont' agree with their lifestyle. God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.
I dont' think Homoxeuality is wrong because The Bible says so either, sex is for reproduction and 2 gay people having sex cant reproduce they are doing it for pure pleasure.
So sex is only for reproduction n it is a sin for doing it for pleasure...? So my wife n I havin sex is a sin cause we can no longer have children? And as for being so much about gays...what other religious group has had so many of their priests charged for gay activities with their alterboys?
A few problems I can see with this mmo...
1.to many people playing jedi..opps sorry Jesus.
2.David is way too overpowered and players will be crying NERF!!!
3.no-one wants to group with judus,making the class unplayable.

Yeah ...its funny , they like to preach about it but most of them commit sins each and every day. If you take birth control , use condoms , covet thy neighbors wife etc etc , its a sin. I also think the bible is nothing more than an exagerated explanation of real life events. Some real some lies. But in the end none of it could be proven false back then. And we all know people like to talk about how BIG the fish was that got away when no one is around to prove otherwise. I lived in the belly of a whale guys! ...... yeah sure. Is there a greater being out there? I don't know , perhaps. I was brought up that there was a god , so I don't say otherwise. But as far as the bible goes ...I think much of it is a crock. I tbelieve most of it was just to control teh society they lived in at the time , old testiment wise anyway.
The wide population of christians believe Jesus to have been a peaceful icon. Therefore, the genre of a mmo involving Jesus or christianity would be unlike most of the other games currently listed here on mmorpg. It isn't unreasonable for such a game to be created, but it is highly unlikely that any of the audience who participates here would be interested in the theme.
That would depend on whether or not you could play as the Devil.
If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

The reason I called it "The Bible Online" is because that's where the story is at.
I think "Christianity Online" would be more difficult, though it could probably be done too.
The thing is, the Bible, also known as The Book, has a story. It doesn't really matter wether you believe that story is for real or not.
Did it happen or didn't it happen? Is it the right thing to follow or not? It doesn't matter, because we can all agree that the story is there.
So, if we look at the story, I think we can all agree that it's biased, or that the writers of it were biased. In favor of the main character of the book, which is God.
Now, again, it doesn't matter wether you believe it or not, because that's the way the story goes.
I'm sure there are other games where you start of in a biased environment, and then it's up to you wether your character wants to follow that because you think it's the right thing - and maybe it IS - or break loose and be a rebel - and maybe that is the right thing , again it doesn't matter, cause you're playing a game.
Do you want to - IN THE GAME ( not necessarily in real life) follow God, Jesus and his disciples or, be a rebel and go in the darkness?
Maybe you start out as undecided, and that would be the third "faction" in the game.
So again, RL beliefs doesn't really matter when playing a game based on a religious story.
You could be a non-christian roleplaying a God-fearing man, or express devotion to Jesus, or play an angel.
Although it might not happen because of RL beliefs, you have the option of playing a devil in Satans army.
Someone mentioned that it should be based on the greek gods, because they were earlier. And I'm sure that could be a cool game as well. But Christianity is the major one that we "ended up" with, no matter who came first. So alot more people would feel that it have some sort of connection to them, perhaps more than greek gods.
Also, although there's alot of harsh events going on in the old testament, and the new one as well, I don't think it should be all about violence and crime. There's alot of content in the bible, on many levels (no pun intended
)
If the main focus was to base the game on the story, even with focus being in favor of God, but maintaining humans free will to take the "broad road to destruction", I don't think anyone could really be insulted by it.
So if certain religious groups were to say " That game doesn't represent what we stand for", they would be in their right, but it wouldn't matter because the game would be, again, based on the story.
So, that's some of the reason why I think it could work.
Whoever made Bible Adventures need's to come back and make the game. World's greatest fairy tale told through a epic MMORPG. Shit sorry i still can't stop laughing............

I don't think judeo-christian mythology is that good really. There are some cool things like leviathan and behemoth and some other magic and monsters. But over all it is really one sided, I mean satan isn't even a character just a collective term for human nature and doubt, so the "evil" side would consist of average people struggling against human nature along with anybody else that does not believe in the biblical god with the occasional smiting thrown in there.
And if the jews and christians' god is real in context of the game and they can get powers from him etc. do the Roman gods become real too, so I could pray to Mars for strength and courage?

If it was made, it would be the bloodiest, most sexist, most intolerant game ever created. The crusades themselves would require a NC-17 rating. That is unless it’s built to completely ignore the Christian story of slaughtering anyone who did not convert, and wiping "lesser" older religions off the map.
And OMG the community...would be full of hypocrites and weak-minded herd people.

I have thought of that myself actually. How would all the devout religious people react when you consider that their ENTIRE LIVES are based around their holy books? It would just be completely awesome to watch millions of people have a major life shattering meltdown all at once
Of course it probably wouldnt happen like that. They would just find some way of reading it differently and would just change everything in the bible to include aliens. Thousands of years from now there will still probably be some old hard core nutcase groups still clinging onto it all when everyone else has evolved and moved on.

It's almost 2010, and I am just not wiling to tolerate clunky graphics while being told that "gameplay is more important than graphics". That excuse won't wash with me any more. I expect my games to have both good graphics and good gameplay.

Given the endless atrocities depicted in this book, it would get a 18+ rating. Incest, kids being torn to pieces by wild animals, I guess there is no horror or abomination not happened in that book, so I guess even for tough ppl it would be too hardcore. It would tear down the mantle of pretense and reveal this book as what it is: the morally most sinister book besides the Necronomicon. This is neither a joke, not a trolling, its my sincerest opinion. Just read it, entirely, in a spirit as if you never heard about its "holiness" before, like an alien who never heard about it. Seeing it depicted visually is too risky for those who defend its so called "sacredness", thats why none of them ever seriously pushed the issue.
A sidenote I feel necessary: I dont dislike Christians. Many I met were geniunely good people with a more or less good moral compass. Its that book. Christians who are good are good not because of the bible, but despite the bible.
