They announced 2 new waves of beta testers recently. You still haven't received an invite. You still don't know anyone else in beta.

The only reviews/leaks have come from anonymous testimonials posted by the developers and 2 clowns from Italy that run their own DF website.

Depending on how strict the NDA is it might just be that people aren't talking about it online for fear of being sent to band camp. Also you posted two reality checks, so would you mind enlightening us to the other 48472812? Because it appears you have a vast amount of knowledge that the rest of us would like to know.

I seriously doubt its fake etc the sites been up for long time the game will come out evenually its a small team (i believe =s) working on it lol and just because they have beta invite doesnt mean they invite 5,000 or w/e might be just 100 or so lol =
But im definitly waiting for the game just hope it does come out at the end of Dec dont see it being possible with copying DVD game disc but maybe lol.

I was half tempted to lock this thread already as I have a good feeling of where it's going to go. However, being the hopeless liberal I am, I figure that might not be fair to people who want to get their opinions out. So here's the deal:

OP posted false info that he knows is false to get a rise out of people. 2 clowns from italy who run their own DF website? If he was trying to start up a discussion he would have said 2 italian journalists who run mmorpg.it not a DF site afaik.
When you take his post history into account it makes it clear what his intentions of making this thread was, thats all im going to say. I understand you need to be fair but this one is fairly obvious with the wording of the OP.
Also OP I personally know 2 closed beta testers so im going to have to disagree with everything in your post.

VPellen why suggesting Darkfall is not legit is OK when your Boss put it on release Q4 2008 ?
If MMORPG .com position is that the game is not legit it should be removed ok ? Stradden however has come here and has stated that for him this game is legit and he WON'T remove it from this site..Does a policy changed meanwhile on this ?
Calling it not legit as it is Vaporware at this point with Beta going on should be considerated Trolling cause it would be "expressing an excessive negative opinion"

Just taking a wild guess here but I'm going to go with...
Because it's an opinion.
As long as it's done with reasons that they have that opinion and not just a flame-fest topic... it's just as valid as anyone elses opinion. Granted, it may not be an opinion that you or I agree with... but as long as it's done in accordance with the rules as agreed to... then it's a valid post.

One, because it's an opinion. It is neither provable nor disprovable at this stage. We can only speculate, and it would be unfair and biased to say that one opinion is less valid than another.
Two, I don't know who manages the release dates list, and technically it doesn't matter. If my boss were to put forward the hypothesis that the earth is flat, I wouldn't start banning people who say otherwise.
But this is all off-topic stuff.

Has there been any contact made between MMORPG.com staff and Aventurine regarding the NDA or possibly getting you guys some betacake or interviews etc?
I know you guys will let us know when/if it happens, but have you at least made contact with them?

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that the DF fanboys are so clueless they don't even realize closed beta has been going on for over 8 months, or that they actually think the game is going to be released this year.
What isn't funny at all its your lack of respect to two persons that you probably have ever meet.
We'll find out for sure on December 31, 2008. If Darkfall fails to at least produce an open beta by the end of the year, hordes of disillusioned fanbois will turn on the game.

Complete lack of taking a leak could be very unhealthy.

Lets all be honest with ourselves here.....
As much as we love what this game could be, or as much as we love another game (so much so that you may/maynot hate other games including DF) the op is 100% correct.
While he posts no links or hard facts, he doesnt need to, he is 100% accurate, even the most strict NDA's cant stop hype and leaks, i mean seriously, we cant even keep sensitive nuclear weapon technology or high tech rocket technology a secret, most of that highly classified information leaks out some how... and they use guns and jail as a deterent, you guys think that a NDA is going to stop leaks?
The fact is that with all the hype, even with a few thousand closed beta players, your going to get a leak of some type, from more than one source, some way some how if more than a few employees are actually testing this game, we all would know about it.
I fail to see how the OP is a troll for pointing out the obvious, in this sea of blind belief. It feels good to really believe in a game, the problem is that with the current state of the industry, it seems like people are just setting themselves up for dissapointment, followed by turning into cold hard haters of DF, the company and developers.
Dont get me wrong, i want DF to release asap, ill play it if and when it is realeased or i get into a beta, but lets all stop kidding ourselves, fans or haters, this game has a LOT to accomplish before we all get to play it, more so than all the people we DONT know playing this game lead us to believe (does that make sense?)
Perhaps we will witness a mmo miracle and *POOF* DF appears ready to go, or perhaps the game progresses as fast as most games do, at its current stage (not in total) which leaves me to believe that this game has at least another year to go before final realese.
So good luck DF, you got one hell of a hype and time table to live up to.
I find it revolting that a community of gamers that constantly bitch repeatedly about this or that game not releasing with the promised content or releasing like it was still in beta...is here bitching that a game is taking to long to release. I mean seriously...wtf do you people want? First the game releases to quick and you want to burn the developers at teh stake and say it's their fault. The next min you are bitching that a game is taking to long to release and they are not giving you enough info to appease you.
How about this, how about you stfu and just let the developers do what they do. If the game comes out YAY! If not then oh well, your life continues on. It's not like you are paying to play a beta and it's certainly not giving them any payroll either so wtf is the big issue?? If the game does end up being vaporware, how is that hurting you personally? Stop feeding the trolls!!
I don't know that the guys from Italy are clowns. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. I don't know.
