After reading that, I'd have made a post telling them that open beta was canceled, followed up with a hearty picture of me giving them the finger.
I can't see why any of them care. If they get that worked up over open beta not coming in their definition of 'soon', they're just gonna get banned from the game within the first day anyway. I can only imagine the shitstorm after they get ks'd or ganked.

WoW, can somebody say gay? or that im just gonna frickin go in to a nervous breakdown.all i can do is cry. This is the gayest thing ive heard in a while. I trusted Blizzard, I Loved W3 but they have ultimately DECIEVED me. I'm sure im not the only other one that feels like this. But i think we all need to pull oursleves together in this time of desperation and learn the eternal virtue...of patience.
If people are going to act like THAT in game, Blizzard shouldn't have an Open Beta, and even then, only choose who gets to play in the Reatil Version. But only in a perfectly fair world...

I am 30 and I think this is the last time I try to track game wise... If I wanted this BS I'd go back to SWG and pay them to screw me over... just cause it's free doesn't mean it's not a case of arse.
People blow it out of porportion but seriosuly I do not blame them. We got EQ2 dropping their release to the 8th and Blizzard just continues to ignore the community. If it wasn't for Cay I doubted the flaming would have stopped.
Blizzard did a SOE. If I want that crap I'll go play EQ2.. as a matter of fact it is comming out alot 'sooner'. How many people do you think will wait to be treated like crap when they can go and pay to be treated that way... =P

I've got to agree with Jleslie. If you've been posting "gay", "deceived", "desperate", "nervous breakdown" and are crying - then the post should apply to you as well I suppose. But if so, you've lost some balance.
1st and foremost: this is a beta of a GAME. Nothing to get desparate about. You get desparate about a lack of chemotherapy medicine, not a game.
2nd - they said "soon." For a game that's been in development for 5+years - I imagine 3-4 weeks *is* soon. Barely been 2 weeks now.
At this point, Blizzard should DEFINITELY NOT ALTER their plans on Beta, RC, Gold timelines based on a hint that EQ2 may be released a week early.
And they really shouldn't alter their plans based on people analysing precise definitions of words used in web/forums.
Sheesh! Imagine the ruckus it would cause if Blizzard says "No Open Beta."
I'm very disappointed, but I'm not going to go batshit crazy over it.
However, the fanboys who are trying to argue that "soon" does not mean "soon" really need to figure out a better argument. If "soon" is too ambiguous a word for you people, then also recall that in addition to saying that signups were coming "soon," but that more info was coming in the "days ahead." Also recall that in the forums, the developers also said that info would be coming in "the next few days." So really, some of you guys need to start using a non-retarded argument if you really want to argue with the throngs of disappointed fans.
I'm well beyond arguing with them. I'm at the 'string them up, and set them ablaze' stage.
Given the reaction people have had over this, I just have to laugh. Even if the 1% having tantrums did decide to take a pass on WoW, there's still a slew of people that would buy the game. You know, the ones that don't camp the WoW beta site hitting F5 over, and over, and over. ad infinitum.
And then theres the legions of insane Korean fans that will buy 3x the number of boxes NA does.
So, yeah. Pitch your fit. Call it quits, and stomp your ass back to SWG, or EQ2, or whatever. You'll not be missed.

Im a blizzard games fan, and i didnt get worked up at all bout these news, since blizzard does it all the time, it got old already after starcraft ^_^ hehe
and besides the best strategy would be to release the OB either when guild wars has its world preview event, or the day before EQ2 is released. No point having the OB right now ^^
I seriously dont think the game is rdy for OB yet, and no im not a closed beta tester, i just want the game to be ready before OB and i rather wait even a couple of more months for the game to be good when released
i def cant believe how ppl get so worked up bout this soon thing ^^ obviously those ppl never dealt with any blizzard release before hehe

She wasn't flaming you. She was trying to help you out with some tips on diverting your attention from a videogame onto something else. Some people might say it's unhealthy to start crying because a videogame you want hasn't released or had it's open beta yet.
I agree, though. She could have done it in a nicer way, but I also think it had to be done. But since no one really takes good advice(in general) I doubt you saw it as anything but a personal attack.
