Not really, no. I mean, there's a ton of content out there... but... The quests, as far as I can tell, are designed to be run multiple times.
I came here thinking I may try this game as my new mmorpg. After I read this It was enough to shut down all curiosity i had...
Don't buy it, give the trial a shot. There's no reason to blindly purchase a game due to a few forum postings; either way, for nor agasint. Save your money and see if the trial actually appeals to you before buying it.

DOnt let a few perceived negatives quash your curiosity. The game is Free to try out for the first 10 days. TUrbine has been doinging everything t hey can to enhance the experince for new players. THe lowbie area now is quite breathtaking and culminates with a Dragon encounter less than a couple hous into the game!
Yes, the Content is designed to be run multiple times.... But what MMO Isnt? DDO Has done a fantastic job of not REQUIREING you ro rerun stuff though. Its entirely up to you if you want to "Grind" some of the quests.
It is posible to level your character from new to level cap without repeating a single quest if you take advantage of the open encounter areas. (ANd these areas are Instanced as well so your not competeing against others for XP and Loot)
I found the new player experience to be most excellent. Arriving in Stormreach was a bit anticlimatic... lol, but so be it, that newbie area was awesome I can already see though, that I will never unlock drow, and that's what I really wanted to play. I guess I am just too casual... I'm running stuff on "elite" and still only have 46 of 400 needed... lol
I would think by the time you hit level 10 or 12 you could have the 400 needed for drow. That 400 comes quite easily just leveling and running things on hard and elite as you would normally do.
Actually, I hit drow favor at level 6. There is a boat in the harbor not far from where you first arrived in Stormreach. This boat will take you to the Pirate's Cove (remember Goonies). Through this underground village, you will find an entrance to Three Barrel Cove. This is an explorer area with about 7 quests for levels 4-7 I believe. You can also access Three Barrel Cove in the back right of House D. Just talk to Evi Joss. There is also Sorrowdusk in House D and there even more quests out there. Tangleroot in House P (all the way in the back) has an excellent quest line that will feed your favor points tremendously. You will have your drow faster than you realize.
I have been playing DDO for over two years, I must admit to being quite sad as in, I spend around 5 hours a night and 10 - 15 hours on both sat and sunday playing the game... but thats my choice.
I love the game and will state that right now, I love the community, I love my guild.
The game is different from every other MMORPG.. I dont think anyone can say this is wrong.
I am unfortunate to currently play on the EU server Devourer.. and yes we are still waiting for the new starter experience and the rest of the content which will come with Mod 8. but as i have posted before:
Turbine = US DDO
Codemasters = EU DDO
Massive difference.
(BIG MISTAKE)
When advertising a new starter experience on the internet for a great game (which only has a smaller playerbase because of a buggy initial release...) it is a critical mistake to believe that because someone is in Europe that they wont be looking at a site with a .com extension...
Anyone from europe looking at the ddo us site, who with the new look starter area may have been pulled into this magical world of ours, instead unknowingly downloaded the EU 10 day free trial version to find.. that the trial version will be expired before the overdue mod 8 with its better graphics and intuitive character creation update.. will arrive... to me this doesnt seem like good business.
There was no mention on the US site that the module had not been release in europe yet, nor can I find any reference to the delayed release on any ddo/mmo reviews advertising.. to find this information you have to go onto the ddo-europe forum..
just this once... DDO EU and DDO US should have had the mod at same time... (IMHO it makes business sense)
BACK TO THE GAME
DDO rocks.. I will agree with the complainers that DDO could be a better game, I honestly believe any longstanding ddo'er could make some suggestions which would be well thought out and plausible to do.
When I read the gripes, groans and flames on this forum.. other then the initial wish to shout at you all i try to see your side of the coin.. but its difficult to be impartial.
DDO is still growing.. the game is itself still developing. I would suggest to everyone to try the game.. it might be for you, on the other hand it might not...
I have tried wow, but it wasnt for me, I tried City of Villains, Requiem, Archlord, AoC and LOTRO none of these did it for me.. none of these gave me the longevity which i wanted, the playerbase were not suited, the graphics were to cartoony... a million reasons i didnt get on with them.
But i wouldnt go onto a thread relating to these games and slate them, as that makes no sense, people like different things.. always will, either the games for you or not.. but thats upto the individual to decide.
I have read far to many threads with just mindless anger towards a game... and i think.. its a bloody game.. your anger wont affect it.. so why bother.

I can't get past the 40ft sign that says "JUST ADD CONTENT".
I love this game so much but if I do VON, Deleras or East3 again Im going to scream.
-- Note: PlayNC will refuse to allow you access to your account if you forget your password and can't provide a scanned image of the product key for the first product you purchased..... LOL
Everytime i retry DDO I get stuck. I can't get past the 40ft sign that says "JUST ADD CONTENT". I love this game so much but if I do VON, Deleras or East3 again Im going to scream.
Then why do you continue running those quests when there's others availble!?!?
I have a lvl 12 Cleric, that I dislike playing, and I've never run Delera's or the Threnal quests with it. There are MANY alternatives and the only thing making you rerun those quests is your own desire to do so.
Would you like a list of alternate level appropriate quests?
I enjoy the Vault of Night (VoN) series and personally don't mind running them with others. I think my Cleric has been through the VoN series once. My Sorcerer on the other hand, I think it has about 6-7 completions. Doesn't the VoN Raid give a full loot table of the named loot to chose from on the 20th completion?

My last character, I don't think I did VON at all, and did the Threnals once. Did Deleras probably four or more times though because I was trying to get a specific weapon, plus Deleras is fun.
If someone doesn't like doing a certain quest over and over, then don't. There's a large amount of quests to choose from. I would have thought everyone would be over the "needs more content" line by now.
Someone could powerlevel themselves doing a handful of quests over and over, and that's their choice, but plenty of other quests are available if they want to do them.
I've been playing for 2.5 years now and there are still some quests I haven't run including the Shroud. I've been flagged for awhile just had other things I wanted to do. I am an avowed casual player and there is always something for me to do in game. The best part is that even with all the content, it can be a whole new experience when you run with a new class.

Give it a Try, ya got nothing to lose.
