Comming Soon is a realitive term. In the scheme of things it is soon, this game is 3 years in the making, 3 weeks is VERY soon in compairison.
I would Expect They will have they're FINAL print ready by NOV 1, and production will start. I suspect that OB will start at that point, and contune for about 2 weeks, Nov 14th. At which point the game will be shipped, and Set to open on the 16th. When the server goes down 2 days befor going live, they will Wipe, and make any last minute adjustments.
Theres no reason why Nov 16, WON'T be the day, Unless issues such as production flaws, or critical client issues come up. Given both parties making the game are pretty much Industry leaders, these are unlikely, but not impossible.

Yes this is very true, that woulda been handy a couple days back maybe even a week ago, but they said awhile, if the game is 3 years in the making then how would nov. 16th still be release date. True it still can b, havn't seen anything about big errors besides the server unstability, unless they arn't telling us something which i'm guessing is the case. I just find it hilarious reading peoples posts as they give their predictions (and by that I mean their hopes and desires) of when the game will be in their hands, mentally trying to convince themselves that it will come out on time.

The other part is when you STATE something (Soon)that is defined in the dictionary to an utmost understanding and deviate from it's intent is changing the path of the resulting EXPECTED outcome and thus contributes to (let me make these words easy for you) Flame wars and degradation of personnal views of the said person or company.

What worries me is that the relase date for WoW is November 15th. At this rate i assume OB will start on the 31st or the 1st. In that case that gives only 2 weeks for a OB. Not very long IMO. It feels like the people who didn't get CB are getting short changed considering CB have been playing the game for 6 MONTHS!!! But oh well, it'll come when it comes i suppose........I just hope its tommorrow.

Well, aside from some other people complaining about the OB release, it doesn't bother me much. The way I take it, is that first they said soon and then now they're saying not even close yet means that they still have some major issues (who knows what could be wrong). They are delaying it for a reason... Cause I would sure as hell hate to start the first thirty minutes to an hour in the OB and crash ten or more times, or have mob and player problems.
So, I could care less how long it takes them, just get the problems corrected.

I'm beta testing BOTH games. WoW has NO server instability. They crash 100x LESS then EQ2 servers. EQ servers go down, Zones go down. EQ has a HUGE amount of content that isnt even in yet. WOW is ONE patch away from avhing FULL CONTENT, and they Will start PRINTING the game. Thats when they will go gold.
I don't know if you realized but OPEN BETA is usualy RIGHT befor release. Most OB's i've been in have ended a day or two befor release. I wouldnt expect more then 2 weeks of Open Beta. Shadowbane for Example.
I think WoW is a far better game. Its MY OPINION. Don't argue it.. You can't argue an OPINION. I expect to play WoW Nov 16th.
IF people are playing a retail version of EQ2 by then, I feel sorry for them having to pay for their OPEN BETA.....

People shouldn't be shown the whole game like they did to the CB's Blizzard would be lucky if they come to play the game at all.. I mean the testers just about seen it all and NOW they will have to pay? Pay for what? they saw about 80% of the game allready...
No as a potential buyer of games.. in the future I will steer clear of betas simply cause the amount of BS one has to sift thru... Blizzard's concept of soon is still whacked.

People STILL are in SWG.... and it was only HALF the game they released.I would feel sorry for SWG players if they didn't deserve it.
I played it for over a year and the moment I got done grinding and looked to do something else I found there was NOTHING else. I cancelled it.

well either way beta testing a product for free is a priveldge and not everyone can do it.
But the opne beta is more like a trial period.
