First off she's not Tasos's girlfriend but she is a friend of his. How close of a friend we don't really know for sure. Second she's not really hyping the game when she's just explaining what she's doing while playing. About the only thing she has said that was even remotely hype was that personally she is having fun while playing and she almost seemed like she didn't want to admit it. She hasn't once said that it's the greatest game ever or that it's going to rock your world or any of that type of general shameless plugs that you saw the D&L so called "testers" saying.
I swear that some of you will make anything into what you want to try to make your points. She's just reporting what the game is like and that is it... no shamless plugs... no grand claims... no blowing smoke... just what she personally is experiencing while playing. Give the girl a break as she is just trying to help us get a little taste of what the game is like. You all should be thanking her instead of trying to rip her apart.

I actually see this Gianna as a way more reliable source then any big website out there.
Big websites have a way to deliver good previews and reviews to the large computer companies that feed them.
Gianna is a very trustworthy choice of a preview deliverer as i see it, way better then IGN and gamespot with their biased reviews. Warhammer got a 9/10 on IGN.

No big gaming company has, because it's all about the investors encouraging no risk taking to be innovative. So they jump on the bandwagon and copy already successful formulas to milk death with less risk to a nice fat profit. This has resulted in the MMO genre to stagnate to some degree. A lot of the big companies will be watching Darkfall closely to see how well Darkfall's dev teams formula is received. It's just like sheep. One dares to cross the road and succeeds and the rest follow. If Dark fall has success you can be sure at least one of the larger companies will throw their hat in the ring.

If you had put that sentence different I would buy that you didn't refer to it as being updated as the site you linked it to has that article named second view. WoW itself was an EQ clone.
The people who played the second greatest hand in hyping wow weren't people from battle.net, but people from Everquest completely dissatisfied with the way Sony tried to fix the game with EQ2 and failed by removing what made EQ fun.
MMO veterans in general played the greatest hand in ensuring people didn't bitch as much about the problems wow had at launch because compared to fetal abortions like Asheron's Call, Star Wars Galaxies and the barely tolerable problems seen in the original EQ wow was a god send.

Really all the fanbois are an insult to the intellegence of the MMORPG community. Blindly eating out of Tasos' hand after such debacles as Vanguard, DnL, AoC, and most recently WAR. And yet even though history has taught us not to be too hopeful, you still sit around making like circus seals for good ole Tasos.
Get real already, learn from your past mistakes, and dont set yourself up for another disappointing MMO.

I have alot of trust in Aventurine for different reasons.
A very unhyping company is a large +.
No pre-order is another +.
Being able to play the game before buying is another +.
Trustworthy previews and beta reports is a large +. (you know i see the large websites as the most untrustworthy places arround when it comes to previews and reviews)
Never trust someone that is financially dependable of the companies they preview/review. There you find the most biased previews and reviews.
Why the hell would you trust them? Would you trust a company to build you a house that has no experience building houses if they promised you the greatest house of all time, especially if they hadnt built a single house before yours? Hell no you wouldnt.

No other game in history has had a reveiw on it before it's released. No one slabbed a rating on any other game prior to it being available to buy. So why do you guys expect darkfall to be giving it's unfinished game to review companies pre it's release date?

I for one really don't give a rat's ass on what score IGN or Gamespy would rate this game.......what I do care about if that IGN and/or Gamespy actually did at least try the game, they may be biased based on their advertisements as many have already stated, it is just the fact that a reputable gaming site has played the game and given us some feedback......at least that would make me and many others less skeptical abut this game. But until now, NO ONE that we know from all major reputable gaming sites or even gaming magazines have claimed to have seen the game................So for pete's sake to all the die-hard believers, you seem to be believing things and gaming claims from the GF or the cousin or the best friend of this Tasos guy who by far would be more biased then any gaming website out there..................Until then I will continue to try and protect my fellow gamers from getting let down yet once again like we have in the past with DNL, AoC, WaR and the likes............

And how many of these games actually followed the UO model? Only DnL. How many games out there actually follow the UO model? ONly Eve Online.
You are missing the point that many are overhyped is due to being underserved as consumers.
Most of these overhyped people waiting on a new UO were never the same people hyped up for diku MMOs like Everquest.
UO and EQs' time are past, sure some of us loved them, but that was then, this is now. Hell most of the people I see preaching the Darkfall gospel didnt even play either of these games.
Really if ANYONE out there thought these type of games would really be popular today, dont you think a more experienced company would have already thrown their hat in the ring?

No big gaming company has, because it's all about the investors encouraging no risk taking to be innovative. So they jump on the bandwagon and copy already successful formulas to milk death with less risk to a nice fat profit. This has resulted in the MMO genre to stagnate to some degree. A lot of the big companies will be watching Darkfall closely to see how well Darkfall's dev teams formula is received. It's just like sheep. One dares to cross the road and succeeds and the rest follow. If Dark fall has success you can be sure at least one of the larger companies will throw their hat in the ring.

Yeah but none of those companies came out and said point blank "were going to revolutionize the genre, and other companies are scared of us."
Polarization got his hands on a lot of Aventurines bigger fishs' past employment history, and they DID not have a much experience to call on.
In fact as I recall Tasos had to retract statements the he himself worked on certain MMOs, when he was busted for lying about it. Way to pad the ole resume eh?
Again none of your aforementioned companies have had anywhere near the gall that Tasos and Aventurine have. And theyve promised a hell of a lot more than all those companies combined.

The guy you quoted asked for a review from some site, you post a link calling it Updated review. If you had put that sentence different I would buy that you didn't refer to it as being updated as the site you linked it to has that article named second view. But when you name the link Updated preview to prove to some guy on internet they have reviewed it I think my comment was pretty reasonable on it. :P

WoW itself was an EQ clone.
The people who played the second greatest hand in hyping wow weren't people from battle.net, but people from Everquest completely dissatisfied with the way Sony tried to fix the game with EQ2 and failed by removing what made EQ fun.
MMO veterans in general played the greatest hand in ensuring people didn't bitch as much about the problems wow had at launch because compared to fetal abortions like Asheron's Call, Star Wars Galaxies and the barely tolerable problems seen in the original EQ wow was a god send.
