call of duty 5. I think it's a lot better then 4 and i play it for ps3 so i guess my vote doesnt count lol
Havn't played CoD 5 yet, so I'll say CoD 4, which rocked my socks off
FPS like "First Person Sneaker", right?
Never liked any of the fragging games, but I'd put System Shock I/II, Deus Ex and Thief I/II into FPS category, and for me the winner still is SShock I. Voted other.

Played: UO, DaoC, Horizons, Ryzom, WAR, LotRO, Eve, VG...
I liked COD4, but Crysis is right up there too.
Edit: Frycry 2 is pretty awsome as well.
I must be commiting some sort of blasohemy by splaying my fps' on my 360 more often than the pc. The best fps I have played on he pc in a long time would be Portal, even though it is more of a puzzle game. It is just so much fun launching portals to navegate the environment, and the writting is so great in. Outside of Portal I would have to put my runner up as COD4 because it was a fps I liked for the most part at least for the 360 so it must be just as good as good if not a little better for the pc. I just wish it didn't have the lvling system.
I'm guessing other will be the most comon choice in this poll, because there are so many fps' on the pc, and games like crysis are not included.
Edit: bioshock is another amazing game that has to be played at least once.
I accidentally voted Battlefield (which probably have the most content per match of any FPS to date, excepting PlanetSide and WWIIOnline). But I really have to vote for the Unreal Tournament series. They shot FPS games into a competitive online market, helping springboard E-Sports. It's sad the newest has so few players. Although I always love getting UT'99 going at 800x600 res and seeing nearly 100 servers well populated. 2004 too!

Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2...and other shooters don't really matter, cause they've all been complete trash that get boring after a month since the Rainbow 6/Counter-Strike days (including the regular version of BF2...it sucks balls, but PR makes it the best ever).

Crysis War's - best fun in a long time
Once you have "project reality" you really don't need anything else for FPS

Best RTS 2008: None, quite disappointed year for RTS for me. Wanted to say WiC but that was a 2007 release.
Best MMORPG 2008: None
Best Suprise in 2008: Deadspace
Big let downs 2008: Current released MMORPG's, NFS/Undercover, RedAlert3
Best GAME overall in 2008: GTA 4
A different type of suprise: The shutdown of Tabula Rasa, did not expect that, atleast not this early, I feel the biggest problem with the game is/was that it is misplaced in the wrong catergory of games, if the game would be promoted towards being more of a FPS/3rd persoon online shooter game it might succeed, thought it should need to get rite of the sub. model, but then the game is probebly run on to expensive hardware that is needed for other projects/games to run on....perhaps...Atleast the game can give this industry a signal to not call your game a MMORPG when in fact it's no more then a multiplayer game with quest, when marketing a game as being a MMORPG make sure it has the basic MMORPG ingredients and don't make a game 2 dimensional by having very little MMORPG feature's, except quest's, which only make up a part of a MMORPG.

In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
Boishock is the best game ever, story pulls you in and you are in a great world of Rapture just one of the best made game i ever played.

What kind of poll is that. Some of the greatest FPS are not even on it. And im talking about the relatively old. Not the really really old one. Two halo in the same poll... EEEEEEEEW. Where is STALKER or OPERATION FLASHPOINT. Real FPS for real gamer... bunch of mainstream pussy.
