No OrionMan, you can't prove any of these changes.  In fact it appears to be the trend that other MMOs are seeing an increase in X-Fire usage as well along the same lines as Age of Conan.  The holidays are probably a big part of that.  PLUS, Funcom is really advertising this game right now.

You are not an objective player of this game.  You don't see any negatives in a game that is clearly so lacking.  I am a day 1 veteran of Age of Conan.  I didn't get to participate in a drunken brawl, I didn't get to see Age of Conan in DX 10 even though my box claims to have it, and I am one of the thousands that got out of Tortage only to realize that this isn't really an MMO, it's a linear mess of a game.

Funcom did a damn good job of hyping this game.  Tortage was done really well so most of the reviewers never got past it and the reviews were great.  Funcom scammed everyone who paid for a box, period.  They advertised features that weren't in the game.

You keep on defending this game, justifying the fact that YOU PAY TO PLAY A BETA, and make yourself feel better about wasting time and money on a game that is widely considered garbage.

Many of us lurk here hoping that there is a magical patch that makes this game what we all had hoped it was going to be.  That patch isn't coming and you fanboys aren't ever going to see that.

Keep on justifying and lying to the members of this board who may be suckered into buying this game, it's how people like you roll, afterall.  You keep it up and those of us who don't think that is an acceptable will be here to keep your lies in check.

This is probably a reason why so many aoc "haters" post here.

Nobody likes to be scammed and thinking you can play a great game, but all you get is a boring game doesn't help also.

Maybe new people try aoc again, but i know if they leave again they never come back and the game is still boring.

So population will go down  again after 1 or 2 months.

I'm not really sure why this thread got derailed.

But as a new player (appx 2 months).  I don't know how anyone can brag about the server populations in AOC unless they have never played another MMORPG.

The game is fine, the graphics are good.. but most of the time the game feels like a single-player-game even after the merges.  Again, not to bust on the game, but I can only imagine how empty the servers were before the mergers (in the top level zones).   There is definitely nothing like the West Brit Bank in UO or Ironforge in WOW.

You have to understand that before the merges most of the servers were completely empty. If you logged in outside peak hours, you might have to walk for hours before running into another player.

It's natural that now after merges, when servers are more full, it seems to players like servers are booming, when in fact they only have average or low population when compared to other AAA MMO's.

I've always said AoC is a single-player pve MMO. If you like pve and don't mind playing solo, there is a good chance you will like AoC. If you like something else, you probably won't like AoC.

Let me compare to another MMO for referance. In WOW you have to run for ages in a very boring landscape where every part of that particular area almost look identical (the cost of an unseamed world). Also, here is another thing, unless you go to a city you will not see a soul in WOW because everybody is out in the middle of boring nowhere grinding PvE. AoC however due to the Zone setup has a way denser population. This is just my opinion though, but if the worry is that you're not running enough into people, I would actually choose AoC because you run into people all the time.
