However the "journalist beta is starting first week of jan" information comes from the Italian dudes that where there visiting, not from AV. So we might want to take that info with a grain of salt.

My 5 Reasons to be optomistic about the future launch of Darkfall.
1) The game looks better than most people believe < yes including me.
2) The style of game play is different than any mmo to date <quit refreshing to see.
3) A sand box world < do what you want to do in the game.
4) Non-lvl based game <nothing bad about that.
5) A solid fun game to play < Lets all hope for this, because it will be a win/win for all gamer's.
The only thing that really peeves me is the NDA, I can't stand when companies slap that on. But that all goes away if the 5 things above come true.

If you look at this and read the comments I think it confirms what I was saying, that the whole of T4 was still under NDA and still being tested by the proper beta testers (not preorder people).
Admittedly thats not the entire game but it is quite a big and important part of it. all of endgame,

WHY is DARKFALL... a game with less than 2 weeks until Release... still under NDA. You know a game that is more ready at this point than any other. A game that was Ready to Launch on Dec. 4th. A game that has been Feature Complete for months.

Deathsword had certain things that were being tested, like high end T4 and some of the scenarios, but all the lower tier stuff was pretty much open game throughout the open beta.
Also, I think I recall the devs not wanting old posts about issues that had been fixed getting out and giving bad info. (I could be wrong on this...beta was awhile ago.)
Lots of that info would have been misleading anyway. I recall the skills being arranged differently than at release for testing and what not.
My Dok at release played a lot different than my deathsword dok towards the end of beta...lots of the skills were moved around as far as when you would get them and what not.

The devs are trying to avoid a Roma Victor disaster. Hyped game, good concepts, whole nine yards.
At launch, the game didnt work. It still barely works. Half of the features werent implemented (present day). Total clusterfux. It was/is horrible.
If the Darkfall folks did something like that, it would be anarchy. While Roma Victor fans were mostly historians with a few mingled UO fanatics like me who wanted a good game with realism and unrestricted murder, Darkfall fans arent the same. We would literally gun down the people responsible in the street.

I really hope this game's quality, but I'm really not seeing it in the leaks.
I see some potential, but DEFINITELY not 50 dollars, and 15 more each month, of it.
I understand that graphics and animations aren't everything, but it's really all about the presentation. It's the fact that we're two and a half weeks from Darkfall's "supposed" launch...And Aventurine's silent. That's fucking insane, and screams that Darkfall's a pile of shit.

I understand that graphics and animations aren't everything, but it's really all about the presentation. It's the fact that we're two and a half weeks from Darkfall's "supposed" launch...And Aventurine's silent. That's fucking insane, and screams that Darkfall's a pile of shit.
As a side note...Six years ago I was still in high-school worrying about nothing but getting laid...
