The Lavastorm revamp is not being postponed because the Fighter Revamp needs further tweaking.

Travel around lavastorm will be MUCH MUCH easier. We've added more teleporters as well as travel mount paths.
None of the old content is slated to be removed, some of the mobs will see slight tweaks and might be moved around a bit, but we don't plan to actually remove any quests or content.
The level 80 content is actually in brand new areas we're adding to the island, none of the old areas are being overwritten.
Lots of new quests, both in the 45-55 range and at 80.

Squeal!
I'm so excited about this. lol
Its coming in LU51 Nadia,as the work needed on the fighter revamp is much more than was thought,so as it stands now they've swapped the LU's around.
Finally something to do with my main again.
expected on Test Server soon

We're aiming for the week of February 16th as early as possible. Of course all dates are subject to change (but hopefully with notice as soon as we know).

Really, re-vamping and expanding these older zones and tossing them out in an update (as opposed to piggy-backing them to the yearly expansion) is a wonderful idea. For the new player first experiencing the zone, nothing has been removed so they don't lose anything, and for those who have adventured there before the added content and tweaking of issues gives them a reason to go back and play there again.
The devs have been doing this to the older higher-level zones, which I understand as they seem to want to funnel people to the "end-game" these days, but I sure wish that some effort could be put into revamping and tweaking some of the old starter/mid zones like the Commonlands and Antonica. There is nothing "wrong" with those zones per se, but compared with starting in Kunark (the newest starting zone), or even in Faydark/Neriak (the older of the new starting zones) there is a distinct disadvantage in the quality of the loot. This gives people less reason than ever to go there.
I've always loved Lavastorm so I am very excited about this soon to be addition. They said there was going to be some level 80 content in Lavastorm... is there any right now? If so, what kind of content is it?
There will be:
A new x2 dungeon
New solo content for high level adventurers
A new x4 raid zone
A new crafting zone
I'd say high level adventures mean there is new solo content for lvl 80, but dont hit me if im wrong )
it was elaborated on the SOE forums (quoted and linked here in the 1st post)
that there will be new solo content for both 45-55 and 80

this will hopefully be on the Test server next week anyhow
the SOE Forum announcement from December said this
fanfaire08.feldoncentral.com/2008/12/29/game-update-52-preview/

- Brand new areas added to Lavastorm with level 80 solo content
- A new faction with gear to gather from the new Lavastorm content
- 12 new armor sets
- All of them with brand new armor appearances
- Including a brand new robe model in which the Helm and Shoulders and Legs are all visible, separate pieces from the Chest

Thanks Nadia, will be there in the morning to check out the revamp.

Good. I rather have them revamp all the old zones instead of adding more right now.
More of this, please
As a fairly new player, I agree. I haven't even seen Lavastorm yet, so I'll more than likely have the bonus of seeing the updated version without having seen the old version for comparison. So my first time seeing it really will be something new for me to see. If that makes sense.

Yep you made perfect sense.
The changes they did in Everfrost was amazing to say the least. The quests there are fun and a lot of them, compared to how the zone was before. So I am expecting the same for Lavastorm.
Should be a good place to level now.
Edited for my stupidy in reading comprehension.

SOE did a nice job with Everfrost. I used to dread that place
post revamp,
I always look forward to going to Everfrost now if I have a character in the 40-50 range

All I have to say is, YESSS! Sorry I just really love Lavastorm
Its looking okish on test atm but as others have said they do need to do up the other older zones like they've done so far
Oh come on fozzie, you old bugger. It's looking great aside from the horsie thingies.
Like many have stated on test, horses don't fit the place. Maybe fire drakota or something would be better.
I'll admit that I haven't delved too far into the alterations because I want to do them fresh with an 'applicable' toon.
An updated Feerrott would be nice...Typically everyone I know skips that zone. But anyways I'm looking forward to the Lavastorm update as well.
Have they merged the servers in the last 6 months? That is when i last played. When Soe botched up my accounts,i decided to not fix it,because the server i was on was very dead,so i figured oh well..later game.
One thing about eq2 ,i can log on for an hour and actually do something,i like FFXI gameplay a lot more, but in one hour i would do nothing but mule some items, check the moghouse and logoff lol.So i found Eq2 a lot more relaxing in that aspect.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
havent been any mergers in 2 years
- but if you want an over crowded PVE server, theres always Antonia Bayle

Got to admit i to havent delved that far into it,but i will say this much about it,they set the bar high with the EF revamp and given the flux created by Aeralik and his constant fiddling its not looking as stella as that update was.
And yes the horses are silly..they get frightened by the goblins surely
