The DF subforum isn't a place where people solely discuss merits or what they hope DF to be. Its not a safe haven to spread Darkfallism. Its a place to discuss the game mechanics, and design desicions by the devs. Its also a place where people can ask questions about or where to find darkfall.

I think AV is running on empty and the game will release on the 25th. They are already testing out safe zones so for future implementation. However, hopefully the DF community will not force the devs to implement them.

My prediction is that it will be "SHINY NEW" and everyone will praise it for being the best ever!!! ... However once the polish wears off, and the tarnish starts to show, much like every other mmo released, some will leave. My only hope is that the new kind of combat system they are using, won't lag the hell out of the servers...
My prediction is that no one cares about what you guys think nearly as much as you think they do. Also DF will release and be a good fun game for those who like the style, and will get trolled from the fan and hater side regardless.

I also think that 4-5 months from now many trolls on both sides will look back and ask themselves why they wasted so much of their life typing their opinion into this forum where all anyone does is talk, and no one listens. There is too few consequences for trolls. They spin their negativity how they like without risk. If you let idiots and assholes the freeedom to speak they will use it . They make no difference between them sitting in the loo or posting in the darkFall forum. Moderation has to define some new rules that prevent negative opinions about the game.

Siege too far from theme park? Let's discuss that... what I read is this: you see on the radar the person that started the siege, which becomes the comander or something like that. If you kill that player, that team loses, end of siege (notice the word "team"). Where is the player control here? It's all mechanics forced by the game. Basically, it's a non instanced WOW battleground.

What's truly irrelevant is how well each part and parcel of a sandbox title can be described as either sandbox or directed. It really has gotten bad around here...when a lot of the trolls have gotten so stuborn that they were wrong about it being vaporware and asking for it to be removed from teh website...now they post in every thread rehashing the same arguements and jumping on every chance to insult df or the people who like it. On release...whether it is smooth or bad...there will be so many posts saying "ha i told you DF sucks" no matter what the state of the game is...just because they are no longer gamers and have this notion that they must see a video game fail. Pretty pathetic when you spend hours out of your day repeating the same statement because you want to see a developer fail...a developer that has actual people getting up every morning to bring us another mmo into a market that has been fulled of failures. You are NOT gamers...and yes i can judge you as not being a gamer when you try so obviously to discredit a game at every possibility. And no you arent "Saving the community from another DnL"...the sane people who havent played beta will wait for reviews before they buy...you arent changing anyone's opinion...you are just pathetic. So release day will be fun with the resident trolls giving a circle jerk with reasons why DF is a failure...whether it be that it only has a few hundred thousands subs (what its target really is realistically given the gameplay) or that its an elitest gankfest (any modern day mmo has eliteism in it, pve or pvp)...or whatever reason the same people who have been making threads like "DF is a fake scam" or "hahahaa its all comming apart now i was right 11!!!!one!!!" have been making. The real gamers will be giving the game a fair shot, or writing objective reviews about why the game is good or bad. If i could write a review right now, you would see how unfanboi-istic I really am because as much as i think it is the best mmo experience on the market right now, it has some big problemos.

Let the game come out dont buy it and read reviews see more videos and do your homework and research the game. If you choose to play then play and either like it or don't, but just remember no one forced you to buy the game. Why in the heck anyone would preorder any game that does not have an open beta or free trial is absurd to me your setting yourself up for disapointment and hurt feelings. Why should we have to read the results of your hurt feelings because you DIDNT do your homework and research the game better or wait for reviews after its out ?
In the end either play it and like it or dont play it, but for god sakes dont go on a rampage acting like you were somehow hurt by the games failures or what you think you were promised that isnt there. If you do your HOMEWORK (do i gotta say it again ?) My post was not just for trolls but for everyone who is interested in the game. Would you buy a car without doing some homework on it ? A house ? shit a tv ? I know its alot cheaper but take the same steps for a game if your interested in a game that you intend to spend hrs a day playing then do some homework and research if you would like it BEFORE you spend money on it and feel hurt because you didnt like it.
